You're My Only Star

After chatting with his girlfriend, Lu Xun slid his phone back into his pocket. He turned and found that the woman from earlier was still there.

The woman flashed him an amiable smile. The frown on his face deepened as he thought about how her intention.

"Why are you still here?"

Xu Jiao was already expecting that it would not be easy to get close to this big boss. After all, there were a few women who had tried their luck and failed. However, this does not mean that Xu Jiao was ready to give up so quickly.

"President Lu, let me escort you to the lounge."

Lu Xun was about to say something when he saw Huo Yun Chen walking to him. His eyes darkened upon seeing the way Huo Yun Chen shifted his eyes at him and the woman back and forth.

Huo Yun Chen and Xing Xing are friends. If Huo Yun Chen misunderstood his relationship with this woman and report it back to Xing Xing, then he would be in trouble.

His relationship with Song Xing Xing was very good. Lu Xun did not want anything to disturb this relationship. It was enough that there was Shi An Na who constantly appeared to make trouble for him.

Before he could say a word to explain, Huo Yun Chen had already walked over and greeted. "President Lu, I have been looking for you." His gaze shifted to the new talent and a slight frown appeared on his face. "You must be one of the new talents."

Xu Jiao's eyes lit up. The thought that someone like Huo Yun Chen would recognize her made her happy. "Hello senior! I'm Xu Jiao."

Huo Yun Chen nodded at her. "Why are you still here? Director Fei and everyone else is already gathering downstairs for a briefing."

"I was waiting for President Lu to and thought that we could head over together."

"Did Director Fei ask you to do this?"

The smile on her face stiffened. Xu Jiao was a little startled as she was not expecting to be questioned for taking the initiative to wait for their big boss.

She saw President Lu Xun alone in the corner and decided to take the opportunity to get close to him. What was wrong with that?

"Director Fei is looking for you everywhere. Are you expecting Director Fei to wait for you or are you expecting him to brief you one-on-one?"

Her face turned red. With Huo Yun Chen's words, her image in front of President Lu Xun was tarnished. What should she do if President Lu Xun thought of her as a troublemaker?

She hasn't made her debut yet. She cannot get kicked out of the agency. She had worked hard and spent hours training.

Didn't everyone say that Huo Yun Chen is the nicest among the senior? Why was he strict with her?

Xu Jiao pursed her lips into a thin line. "I'm sorry. I'll head over and find Director Fei now." After nodding at Lu Xun, Xu Jiao then jogged to the emergency staircase to find the others.

Lu Xun heaved a breath when the woman finally left. His only regret was that he did not have the chance to sound that woman personally.

"President Lu, the others are still waiting for you."

Lu Xun nodded. "Did you come over to tell inform me this?"

Huo Yun Chen coughed. "Not really. I just came out of the restroom when I saw you. It seemed that you were in an awkward situation just now."

Lu Xun chuckled. "Thank you."

The two of them walked to the elevator together.

When they reached downstairs, Xu Jiao was being lectured by her manager in the corner of the room.

Lu Xun merely spare her a glance before he went with Director Fei and the others to have lunch with their business partner. After a quick break, their discussion continued and lasted for hours.

The sky has already turned dark when he finally reached the hotel.

Lu Xun entered his room and went to take a shower.

After more than ten minutes, he came out from the bathroom in a white bathrobe. The tip of his hair was still a little wet.

Lu Xun took his phone and went over to the sofa. A face appeared in his mind and his lips curled into a smile. His fingers tapped on the phone. His movement halted just as he was going to give his girlfriend a call.

After weighing his decision for a few seconds, Lu Xun decided to video call instead.

He was tired after attending a long meeting and right now, he was longing to see his girlfriend.

The call was connected after a few seconds. Lu Xun looked at the screen and frowned upon noticing the dark screen.

Lu Xun had thought that his girlfriend would be in her living room with Mr. Fluffball by her side as she logged into 'Legend of the Sky'. Glancing at the clock, he wondered if his girlfriend decided to go to bed a little earlier when he was not around.

"Hey." Her voice sounded muffled as Song Xing Xing was hiding under the blanket.

"What are you doing? Are you asleep?" Lu Xun felt a little guilty at the thought that he had woken her up.

"No. Not yet." Song Xing Xing watched as Lu Xun distanced his phone as he tried to get a good look at her. Her eyes caught the sight of the droplets of water streaming down from his neck and under the white bathrobe.

Song Xing Xing subconsciously swallowed. The image in front of her was too tempting. Why did he video call her in his bathrobe?

"What are you doing?" Lu Xun asked. His expression was puzzled. He could not help but think that his girlfriend was acting a little strange.

"I was waiting for your call."

The moment he heard those words, his suspicion swiftly disappeared. His heart throbbed and his throat rolled.

Lu Xun wished that Song Xing Xing is right in front of him so that he could kiss her sweet lips.

"Are you back in your hotel room? Are you going to be busy again?"

"Mmm... I don't want to look at any documents or e-mail tonight. I just wanted to look at your face before I went to bed."

Song Xing Xing giggled. Her grip on her phone tightened as she thought about the man in the next room. "Lu Xun."

"Hmm?"

"Wait a second. I will call you in a few minutes."

Before he could reply, the phone call was already disconnected. Lu Xun stared at the screen and frowned.

What was going on with his girlfriend? Why was she acting very strange?

Lu Xun stood up and poured himself a glass of water.

Ding Dong!

The doorbell rang.

With a frown, Lu Xun walked over to the door and looked through the peeping hole.. His eyes flashed when he saw someone standing in front of his door with a baseball cap, blocking him from seeing the face.
