We Are Destined - Let Me Pamper You

Xiu Mei heard the heavy sound of hundreds of footsteps running towards her like death approaching her slowly. One last time she looked at the sky and closed her eyes.

Before the darkness could take over her senses completely, she picked the gun and held it against her temple….

'BANG'

Just that moment bullets rained down from everywhere. Helicopters whirred and some people dressed in black, wearing protective gear, abseiled down from the chopper and formed a human wall around her with guns pointing towards the enemies. Soon another group descended with bulletproof shield and sealed her completely in a circle.

Loud noises of gun fires echoed everywhere….

Xiu Mei blinked her eyes in a daze, confused what is happening. Her eyes scanned the men surrounding her, but their guns were pointing outside. Is she dead? Is this what modern demon holding scythe looks like? Is she dreaming? Or is this the help she was expecting? Or her mind is playing games before death?

She was prepared for the pain but why is she not feeling any pain on her temple. Her hand rose unconsciously towards the temple, there was definitely some blood but where is the bullet hole.

Xiu Mei saw a familiar shadow walking towards her as the armed men make way for him to enter inside the protective circle. She rapidly blinked and smiled at her beautiful hallucination. This is the dream come true for her to see him one last time.

"Love… I'm sorry. Nothing will happen to you" She felt a familiar warm embrace that was missing from her life for like centuries. Her eyes fluttered endlessly at his face as a gentle kiss was placed on her forehead before something warm and soft was wrapped around her body.

Faint screaming could be heard in the background as her eyes rolled backward and darkness engulfed her. Someone tried to jerk her body to wake her up but everything seemed to slip from her hands taking her to endless darkness.

Feng Jianyu carried Xiu Mei up in his arms and run towards the safe location where he can board the chopper to their make-shift base.

"I need cover. Clear the perimeters and get down the paramedic chopper to a safe location. She's loosing too much blood" He yelled at his men.

Lu Xion shone a flashlight at Feng Jianyu's direction and saw Xiu Mei in a badly injured state. "Take her to the base immediately. I'll handle everything here" He then looked at Bai Xin, "Go provide cover to Jianyu"

Bai Xin nodded and ran in the direction where Feng Jianyu was running. She kept on firing rounds of bullets until they were out of enemies range.

Without wasting another second, Jianyu kept on running towards the chopper with emergency paramedic team on it.

While they were in the chopper, Wang Shi immediately checked her vitals first. Later he cut her jeans to see her bleeding t.h.i.g.h and stopped the blood flow with a hemostat. He saw another bleeding at the waist, lifted her camisole up and peeled the bandage off.

They were shocked to see that the wound was badly infected. Probably she didn't care about it all this while.

"Wang Shi, be gentle" Feng Jianyu winced and hugged the girl in his arms as Wang Shi cleaned up the wound temporarily and bandaged up the area. He saw her pale face and kissed her repetitively to soothe her.

"Jianyu I have provided her with basic first-aid and her vitals stable as of now. But she needs surgery and blood transfusion for the cut on her t.h.i.g.h. It has a ruptured artery. Probably she used robotic clamps on her injury that's why she..." He sighed and didn't go any further.

Feng Jianyu didn't answer anything and just kept her close to his heart. His heart ached thinking how did she manage all this alone. With him around she behaves like a spoiled child and cries at even a small paper cut, but without him, this little chipmunk is bravest of all.

The precious pearl he protects with life had only left his side for a few days and returned back to him in this condition. Like this? Damn these people for hurting her. Every time they are separated, she receives some kind of torture on her body. Why? Why her? Why not him?

On seeing her getting an injection hurts him for the entire day and here Wang Shi is talking about surgery. How can his heart not ache for her?

When they arrived at the old building, a gurney was kept ready. Dr. Wang Shi's team had already been informed that the woman they were searching is badly injured.

Immediately they rushed her to the emergency room. "Uncle Choy, check her eyes too. Before our arrival, a huge blast happened at the site. I'm afraid because of excessive heat and dust there might be some problem" Feng Jianyu jogged beside the gurney and informed.

Wang Shi didn't allow Jianyu to enter the emergency room and ordered coldly to wait outside. "If you want my colleagues to fully concentrate on her condition than don't dare to step inside the room"

Jianyu eyed Wang Shi sternly but the later didn't buzzed from his stance and entered inside. Jianyu was left struggling outside the room.

Lu Xion rushed straight to the old building after the bloody fight, while his team followed him closely. "Feng Jianyu, how is she?"

*No reply*

"I asked, how is little Mei?" Lu Xion was seething in anger.

When he saw her limp body in Juanyu's arms, the picture of her almost dead face seven years back flashed back in front of his eyes.

"FENG JIANYU I…...."

"She is in the emergency room. Dr. Wang is attending her. Now shut up!" A man dressed in full military uniform walked inside and said with authority. His voice low and indifferent, but anyone could tell he was annoyed.

Feng Jin who joined the group in the last saw Feng Jianyu staring at the emergency room blankly and felt bad for him.
