Original Wolf -

Chapter 78 - Plans

Driving fast and furious, Rebekah enjoyed making Nevan nervous who didn't want to spend time digging metal out of his flesh if they crashed, though he could easily avoid such a situation, he was often too lazy to bother which would bite him in the a.s.s in the end when he could have just as easily avoided it.

Rebekah laughed- "Isn't this fun?"

Nevan grumbled- "Don't forget your carrying a child, what happens if a metal piece pierces your stomach?"

That made her slow down as she complained- "What happened to the fun Nevan? And we both know I would be able to react fast enough to prevent anything from happening."

Realizing she was right, he changed the topic,- "You know I still don't appreciate you shifting while pregnant."

"Well get over it, the last thing I would do is harm my child, and out of the two of us I think I know what's best for our child, food thief," she scoffed.

"Touche," he said, shutting up as he went back to looking out the window watching the world pass by.

Not liking the silence Rebekah reinitiated the conversation,- "So the plan is to find Elijah and make sure he's doing okay, and then you want to go back to Cali?"

"Yeah, I still wish to see how Talia's offspring are doing, the one that inherited her alpha power died and it transferred again, not once, but twice, I need to make sure the right person has it."

A little while later, Rebekah said- "You should call Hayley and ask for their exact location."

Eyes widening, he threw his arms out,- "The Phone! Great, that's just great, I completely forgot about the phone, not only do I need a witch for a pair of magic clothes, but also another phone, we should be searching for a witch right now."

"And where do we find a witch around here? Last I checked you've killed them all."

Nevan- "Well, there is Freya, I wonder what she's doing right now."

"Isn't she with Mikael?" Asked a concerned Rebekah.

He gave her a knowing look,- "I know you still have some deep-rooted fear towards him, but that was Niklaus's doing, you need to meet with him and put it behind you."

Her hands tightened on the wheel as her feet started pushing the gas pedal more and more,- "It wasn't Niklaus's fault! He didn't deserve to be treated that way!"

Nevan put a hand on her shoulder- "Calm down, I'm not attacking you, you're right it wasn't entirely his fault, at first, but you can't keep using the same excuse your entire life for your every action, sooner or later it falls to you to either change and grow beyond it or let it consume you, and there is no doubt it completely consumed Niklaus... This is the reason why I fell for you, your strength to move beyond it, to grow, to become better, I'll be right by your side when you choose to put this final chapter behind you, you have nothing to fear with me by your side."

Rebekah sighed as she loosened her grip and foot,- "You're right, I'm sorry, I know Niklaus was a bastard, but now that he's dead I'm feeling a bit more defensive about him," she said letting a stray tear fall.

"It's fine, completely understandable," said Nevan wiping it for her as he gently stroked her hair, happy to get a soft smile out of her.

Elsewhere in an abandoned warehouse, a bloody scene could be seen as screams echoed out, a window shattered as a man was thrown out dead with a hole in his c.h.e.s.t, catching fire as soon as the rays of the sun hit it.

More fighting could be heard as a man cowered behind a piece of heavy machinery listening to the screams of his friends until everything went quiet.

Just as he peeked out he spotted the legs of the assailant, his eyes slowly drifting up to the bloody mouth of the monster.

Mikael grinned as the man before him paled at his sight- "Hello boy, I still seem to be hungry, care to help me?" He smugly asked as he reached out and pulled the man towards him, sinking his fangs into his flesh as the man screamed to his dying breath.

After he finished feasting he threw the carcass out a nearby window letting it burn away the filth before searching for Freya who was now walking through the center towards him.

"Was that really necessary father? Can't you eat normal food now?" She asked.

Mikael- "Can't beat the classics, even with most of our family dead, there's still no end to this plague."

Freya frowned,- "Are you not interested in getting along with the ones who are left?"

Before Mikael could answer a vampire dropped from above taking Freya by surprise as he took her hostage.

Mikael scowled- "Seems there was another rat, unhand her this instant and I may just let you die in peace."

The scared vampire held her closely as if his life depended on it, which it did,- "Stay Back!" He shouted,- "Let me leave or she dies, I'll release her once I'm safely away."

Freya unafraid asked,- "And where will we go with the sun still up?" Knowing this group didn't have any daylight rings.

Not thinking straight, the vampire stiffened when he looked out the window to see the sun still up.

Seeing he was distracted, Freya sent a pulse of energy out, blasting him away, and then turned, raising her hand towards him and turned it upwards and began to squeeze along with his head, using her magic as he screamed in pain clutching his head, and then she closed it exploding his head like a bloody watermelon.

Mikael zoomed over to check her over to see if she was alright.

Freya brushed him away,- "I'm fine, I can take care of myself, father."

"Can you? How many times is it now that you've been taken hostage? You need to learn to keep your guard up, it won't always end so nicely for you," he reprimanded her.

Freya who was starting to feel a little too much like a little girl around him, now felt embarrassed seeing how he was right,- "I'll work on it, I think I can come up with some magic that will help."

"See that you do, I don't want to lose you again," he said lovingly looking at her.

"You won't, I'll have you know I'm a powerful witch in my own right," she said trying to ease his worry.

Mikael- "Of course you are, you're my daughter, now where to next?"

Freya who has been wanting to get the rest of her family together was debating on how to when she got a premonition of Elijah's troubles and was thinking on how to bring it up to Mikael.

Fidgeting she began to tell him,- "Well, um, I've been meaning to tell you, Elijah is going to need our help and I was thinking we could go help him."

Mikael's face hardened- "Elijah?"

Freya nodded,- "Yeah, I'm very intuned to the dangers of our family, and Elijah is in danger, so I was thinking we could go help him and keep him safe."

Mikael didn't know what to think, he knew of Elijah's crazed obsession with Niklaus and could only imagine how he would react seeing him now,- "Are you sure?" He asked, not at all interested in going to meet him.

"Yes, why do you not want to?" Freya asked,- "He's family, I still wish for our family to be whole again," she said trying to put on her best puppy dog face to try and convince him.

Mikael morbidly chuckled,- "Not much family left," he said grinning at Freya's pouting face.

"Father! I wish to go help Elijah, and if we hurry we can meet Nevan and Rebekah," She resolutely said.

Mikael sighed,- "Rebekah huh, alright I'll go, but we should still be careful of that Nevan guy."

Freya gave a sly smile,- "You know he's having a kid with her, right? Don't you want to see your grandkid one day, grandpa?"

Mikael's eyes widened,- "Don't you dare call me that," he said only to watch Freya giggling on her way out, leaving him grumbling,- "Bad enough that guy calls me father, I won't accept anyone calling me Grandpa! You hear me, Freya!" He shouted only to hear her continued giggling as he sighed once again and followed along.

Unknowingly there was a smile on his face as he thought about how he was finally going to have grandkids, he was finally feeling like he was alive again.
