Original Wolf -

Chapter 79 - Travel

Tristan de Martel and his Strix organization were patiently waiting in the airport private lounge for their rides while watching the news which was discussing all the latest unusual happenings.

First reporting about the recent volcano explosions around the world that cost many thousands their lives and blackening vast reaches of sky, preventing and delaying many planes as well as the recent crime spikes in the darkened areas, warning people to stay safe, before finally cutting to the most unusual case of all, New Orleans disappearance and the abyss that replaced it. Many speculating on what happened, from government conspiracies to UFO, and even the occasional person who actually knew something spouting magic and the supernatural only to be ignored, they would much rather believe in UFOs and government experiments than anything else.

"Sir, what do you think?" Aya asked

Tristan turned- "I'm not sure, I have some theories, many of which involve witches, but this is truly a mystery, something to figure out after we complete our objective, everything else falls second until then, no matter how problematic it may seem."

After a pause, he continued,- "Having said that, it's also best we do what we can, use any spare witches that are not essential to our goal have them start investigating, and now that I think about it the government here is likely in disarray not only from this but there are likely many high ranking officials that have been released from compulsion and will be getting there memories back, so we need to strike fast in order to curb any secret agencies from being formed to hunt us, send some vampires to see to it, we need to start building our foothold, this will be our new Homebase once the originals are out of the way, and then we can deal with our friends across the seas as true equals."

Aya gave a slight head bow- "It will be done."

Later on the road, he received a call from an unexpected source,- "Sister, I see you've escaped, please tell me you didn't do anything I wouldn't."

Switching to Aurora, she could be seen with many dead monks around her as she reached the cliff,- "Brother, I may or may have not had a bit too much fun escaping, and our enemies may or may not have used the moment to attack," she said listening to the distant battle that was drawing closer.

Tristan pinched the bridge of his nose,- "Aurora, please tell me we are not losing one of our most important footholds."

Aurora snorted,- "You shouldn't have left me, this is just as much your fault as it is mine, what did you expect me to do after you left me... Well I best be going, they're almost here, I'll be seeing you again soon brother, count on it," she said hanging up, jumping off the cliff to escape.

Aya sitting across from him heard everything,- "Do you think they'll follow her over?"

Tristan sat back, looking out the window, trying not to worry about Aurora even though he had witches watching her just in case. He also didn't want to even think about what was going to happen when Aurora learned of Niklaus. He knew about her feelings for him and didn't want learning of his death to send her down another dark spiral.

"Use expendables to guard the airports and report on any sightings, I don't think they'll send anything but scouts to check the situation, however, we shouldn't let them learn anything that would lead them to believe that expanding is a good idea."

Aya- "Understood."

Tristan- "Also call our witch allies in the north, let them know we're now officially out of the east and won't be making a comeback anytime soon now that we lost the monastery, tell those we left to rally to them and seek shelter, tell the witches that they are free to use them as they see fit until we return, that should keep us in their good graces."

Aya was already using her phone to execute the orders as Tristan used the time to think about the future and what to do about Elijah. His witches were telling him that Rebekah and Mikael were heading to him which would make things far more difficult, nothing was going right today.

Rebekah drove the red Ferrari as deep into the woods as she was willing before she had enough.

Fed up, she hit the brakes, stopping the car,- "Are you really telling me that they traded one swamp for another, there is no way I'm taking this baby any further and risk ruining this beautiful car."

Nevan- "Yeah, I'll have to talk to them about that, I mean I turned them into frikin Alpha's, they need to start acting like it, have some damn ambition," he said equally displeased.

Hopping out he took a look around before he heard the one sound he hated above all others, a mosquito buzzing near his ear. Shifting into his Noblesse form he shot his claw out sending an energy wave to wipe it out, along with a few trees. At least at the other swamp with everyone around helped drown out the noise of such pests, but alone he couldn't help but grow irritated.

Rebekah had a small jump scare as she looked over to see Nevan in his Noblesse form firing away.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Damn mosquitoes, even if they don't want to bite me and stay away from me when they can, it doesn't change the fact that I can still hear that irritating sound, sometimes it just really gets to me," he said firing another wave out.

Rebekah- "You can't be serious, don't just go wrecking everything just because one thing annoys you, come on let's go find Hayley and Elijah so we can get out of here, and be careful not to turn into your other forms or you'll ruin your new clothes," she said, pausing when she saw him fiddling with his pants as he dropped them down to let his tail out.

"Oh, yeah, good thing you reminded me, I was just about to cut a hole in them for my tail, damn, I really need to find a witch... Hm? Never mind, it seems that won't be an issue for long," he said sensing Mikael nearby heading their way.

Rebekah not catching that last part walked over grabbing his tail, causing him to flinch- "I almost forgot you had a tail, why don't you just shift back you look silly with your pants down like that."

"Hey careful, I'm still not used to people touching my tail, and I've just discovered I can send a small pulse out to repel Mosquitoes at a much farther distance like this, so I'm good, you can thank me later."

Rebekah grinned- "I'll be sure to do that," she said stroking his tail again as he quickly slapped her hand away, causing her to giggle.

"Rebekah!" He complained.

"Speaking of, will I also get a tail?" She asked.

"I'm not sure?" He said,- "Have you even turned into your Noblesse lately? Why don't you check."

Rebekah shifted, but sadly she didn't have one,- "Aw, how come I don't get one, what did you do to get yours?" She asked shifting back.

Nevan thought about it,- "I don't know, but maybe it has something to do with what I am and what you are, I wouldn't worry about it, you still have a tail in the other forms."

Rebekah pouted, before turning her attention to something else,- "You know I bet you would look good with some wolf ears to go along with that tail, it would bring everything together."

An image of Mikael's transformation popped into his head, making him shudder just thinking about it,- "No thanks, I think I'm good."

"Come on just think about it, maybe I can buy some fluffy version online and you can try it on for me," she said teasingly at Nevan's deadpan face.

"I don't think so... Tell you what, once you meet Mikael, then we can discuss this again."

"Mikael?" She asked with a frown, not understanding why he brought him up again.

Halting, Nevan decided to tell her,- "I don't want to alarm you, but Mikael is on his way."

Rebekah stiffened, standing there in silence until a thought crossed her head,- "Nevan, how do you know Mikael is on his way? What did you do?" She asked knowing that Nevan could only track those he's turned,- "Don't tell me, you did what I think you did."

Nevan scratched the back of his head while looking away,- "Um, is it that big a deal?" He asked.

Rebekah's eyes widened,- "You turned him, you really turned him?" She asked.

"Kinda?" He questionably said, trying his best not to further anger her.

"Why Nevan, Why would you do that?!" Asked a visibly distraught Rebekah.

"I didn't think it was such a big deal, and I wanted to see what would happen," he stated.

Rebekah slumped down as a helpless Nevan looked on, not knowing what to do.

"You don't understand, I was feeling somewhat willing to meet him after what you said, but now everything's changed," Rebekah sadly said.

Squatting next to her, Nevan asked her to explain,- "Help me understand, what's the problem now?"

Rebekah then glared at him,- "You! You're the problem! How could you turn him? I was willing to meet him on the basis that I was stronger, that you made me stronger, but now you turned him too, you ruined everything! What will I do now if he comes after me..." She said lowering her voice and head.

Nevan understanding hugged her,- "Rebekah I'm sorry, I didn't even think about that, and you should know that if anyone came after you, I would wipe them off the face of this earth, besides you don't have anything to worry about even if I'm not around, I can say for certain that you're stronger."

Rebekah looked up with teary eyes,- "Really?" she asked.

Nevan smiled,- "Yes really, for one, the two bites are not remotely the same, you, my dear, have a portion of my power which easily puts you above him in not only power but rank, you can pressure him as you can with any lower-ranked wolf so feel free to go nuts on him when you see him and make him pay for what he put you through, not to mention we're the only one with Noblesse forms, and second, he didn't fully accept the changes so he kinda has a unique form he's not too keen on using or showing I should say," he said with a smirk thinking about it.

Rebekah tilted her head cutely,- "What form? Is he really weaker than me?" She curiously asked.

Nevan kissed her forehead,- "Yes, trust me, he's really weaker and as for what his form looks like, I'll leave that as a surprise."

"I thought you said he doesn't want to show it?"

Nevan grinned- "Don't worry, I'll get him to show you, trust me when I say it'll make everything so much easier once you see it," he said knowing it would be impossible for her to fear him after seeing it.

"What are you talking about?" She asked the chuckling Nevan, confused by his cryptic response.

Nevan then wrapped his arms around her, lifting her into a princess carry knowing how much she loved it after falling for him,- "You'll see, don't ruin the surprise, trust me" he said coyly.

"Of course I trust you," she softly said giving a small yawn as she closed her eyes leaning her head against his c.h.e.s.t, feeling completely at ease within his arms.

Nevan smiled watching her drift to sleep, she needed it after all the recent stress. He hoped that when she woke up, she would be in a much better place, too much stress wouldn't be good for their offspring.
