We had stood for about thirty minutes and when my feet started to give out. We sat and talked about our life's. He told me everything he could remember about his life even without me pushing him. And I thought, that's exactly how it should be with you and your lover. You both should be able to tell each other everything, willingly, without being forced.

It wasn't like this with Wale.

Chukuma had told me everything about his family also. How his family had been a lovely one till he joined politics and they could barely recognize him anymore. How he had grown up lonely, because he was an only child. How his mother wanted him to get married, she was obsessed with seeing her grandchildren before she dies.

There was so much, I used to think he was the shallow one amongst us but it turned out that I was the shallow one. Although he told me that I was the one person he has come across that was closest to being human.

Then we went through some files and he offered to take me on a date at night. A date which ended up so beautiful we had to go to the club.

"Alright so we are going to do a karaoke challenge tonight. Who's in?" The club manager shouted. I signalled Juku, he started at me giving me the don't you dare look. I burst out laughing but dared.

"Interested." I said swinging my hands. I hadn't had so many drinks but I was feeling overly excited for some reasons I couldn't even place my fingers on.

"Zara are you high. You don't need the money." Kuku looked ready to smash his head on the table. I threw my head back laughing.

"I know. Somethings are for the fun. Common join me. A duet. Let's have fun babe." I stood up. I held his waist trying to pull him up but ended up falling on his legs. He laughed grabbing me. He carried me to where the other challengers were.

"I can't in good conscience let you embarrass yourself alone." He whispered in my ears and I grinned.

"Of course you won't. We are together." I whispered back. Truthfully, I was hoping to lean to him the entire time because Damn, he had a good voice.

Thanks to him we did not only embarass ourselves we actually won.

Yes, we won, more because the magic from Kuku's voice which was heavenly especially when we both sang it will rain by Bruno Mars.

I was the background voice all through. People told me that my voice was beautiful but KuKu's own was just angelic so I let him take the lead.

When they announced that we won he carried me up and spun me around so much I couldn't breathe. And then he dropped me down his lips moving close to mine, my heart started beating at different paces. I thought he would kiss me, a part of me wanted It a part of me didn't. But then he kissed my cheeks instead, most likely because he saw the struggled on my face or because it was what he wanted to do all along. I smiled nervously when he stepped away but still holding unto my waist.

We gave the money 50 thousand to the second runner up, a couple who did well too. They were so excited, their happiness made me happy. The girl who was much smaller than I was kept hugging and hugging me, while the man just shook hands with Kuku.

I looked at them and smiled.

Men.
