I Am Undying

6 The Strength in Saddest Moments

He weakly took and stood and almost stumble over his own body. The weakness has been invading his body.

After a few painful steps, he was in front of the door again. This time, however, there was a faint sound coming past the door. Rin having his mind hazy at the moment, could not process what the sound is.

His heart thump. Is there something in there? Was what in Rin thoughts. He retreated a step, imagining that someone broke into their house. It could be or it could be not. It is something unverified until he observe it.

The anxiousness he was feeling if he got caught with his suspicious appearance in front of her mother was greater than the doubt and a bit of fear be was having so he stepped forward and thrusts the key into the keyhole.

Clink* The door got unlocked.

Rin slowly clutches the door handle and carefully turned it. The sound was getting clearer and becoming more audible…

C..r.ng Cri.ng Criing!* it was their telephone ringing.

In front of Rin was a foreboding darkness. No source of light illuminated the inside of their house. Chill keep creeping on his body that he was unable to get off of.

Rin was scared of the dark but was too tired to think about it. On the wall of the entrance corridor, Rin reaches the lightswitch.

Light came from the entrance corridor and from the living room that lit up the house. The ringing did not cease however. Rin is very bad at communication but in the back of his head, something tells him that this is very important.

Rin slowly, step-by-step, walked into the living room and picked up the telephone.

A heavy male voice immediately responded, "Hello? Hello?" the guy that was speaking seemed to be in a hurry "Is this the Gotha residence, are you a relative with.. uhh.. Natasha Gotha?"

Rin gulped when he was loaded with questions that didn't wait for his answers. His only respond was, "Hmm." Rin nodded subconsciously.

"I am very sorry but I have bad news for you… Natasha Gotha was found collapsed on the Fermin Street and was brought to the emergency room, here in the Pentor Hospital. It is still not confirmed what caused her collapsed but it seemed pretty serious. I suggest you should come here and s….."

"…." Rin's mind was already blank from the middle of the conversation.

He slowly breathed in and breathed out. In side his weak body, he was feeling heat. Tears won't come out of his eyes and voice won't come out of his lungs.

He could only let out an indescribable scream that disturbed even far neighborhoods. He wants to kick something! He want to beat someone!

"Hello? Are you ok-" Rin put back the telephone.

Slowly but in continuous movement, he went out of the house…

On the street, he walking like a zombie. He was remembering his time at the home with his mom. He was remembering how she cared for him, how she did not mind his weakness, how she didn't gave up on him, how she became the only thing that was keeping him alive…

If she were to be gone then he won't be able to live on. He was gasping and sweat relentlessly poured out of his pores. The heat from his body made him felt like he was having a fever. However, instead of weakening, this heat gave him energy. Energy that felt like it would not exhaust.

His movements was getting faster and faster. His walking speed was getting doubled by minutes past. He kicked the ground and he started running. He was accelerating and accelerating until he met his top speed. Compared to an athletes speed, he was slow but this was his fastest!

Remembering how the one who made him keep moving forward will be gone made his mind gone numb to the pain he was having. All the beatings he got from earlier become like it didn't even happened in the first place.

A minute passed by when he started running at his fastest. With his weak body, he should have collapsed but he didn't and instead, he's still heating up.

His destination, the hospital where his mother was brought in was nearby and only a few hundred meters away. The route he took was very unpopulated and people rarely go there.

He ran in a straight path, he ignored the few people he passed by.

Rin gritted his teeth as his throat dried up and started to feel hurt. Nonetheless, he still ran. The path he was taking was dark and only a small amount of street lights was there.

Lights flashed by his overexerting body as it ran without stopping. When these lights began to fade and his eyes started to collapse, a huge one appeared. For him this was blinding but also was his destination.

He came out of a small alley and in front of him was the hospital. It was not a tall building and only have four floors but to him this was very intimidating.

Inside that building will be his deciding fate. His mind was back again and he hold himself from collapsing.

He slowly walked and crossed the busy road. Nobody noticed his tiredness. It is normal to see someone gasping for air and sweating like crazy after a run so nobody bothered to notice him. But when they passed him, they felt chill. Unknown will and determination was something they felt.

Rin's aura was gushing out and made people avoid him.
