I Am Undying

"Ah!-", Dana was stunned and what followed was embarrassment.

Rin didn't cease his bow and waited for the answer. Every second that pass breaks his courage. He stayed still but his heart was wreaking havoc inside his chest that he found difficulty in breathing

"I thought we are already friends…", Dana emotionlessly said and turned her head away when Rin happily looked at her.

Dana brought out her smartphone and called 911, ignoring Rin.

Rin got confused, 'Isn't she acting cold? Is she forcing herself to say that she's now my friend? Is she mad? What??? I only now understand when they say women are a very complicated creature.', the number one man's excuse when they couldn't understand a girl.

"Let's go. The police is on their way here. It would be a bother if we were to get interrogated.", Dana walked away as if she had no company.

"Are you mad?", Rin followed from behind.

With a sudden straight forward question from Rin, Dana got flustered but weakly replied, "... I just expected more…"

'More?', Rin pondered, "We only talked for a short time so I feel like I couldn't call you a bestfriend yet."

"What?!", Dana couldn't believe how dense Rin was. It was insane how high Rin's virginity level was, he's so dense that he couldn't even be called innocent anymore.

"Just enough! Let's go!", Dana puffed her cheek and became cutely angry. She didn't retort or she'll just embarrass herself more.

Rin stared and said, "Dana, you'll always be at disadvantage in an argument."

"Hm? Why would you say that?", Dana was a bit confused as to why Rin would say that out of place.

"Because in a heated argument where your mind is no longer rationale but desperate to prove your point, your enemy will actually be pretty calm.", Rin explained but Dana still couldn't follow so Rin got to the point, "Everybody will stay calm when they saw how cute you are."

"You….. That shouldn't work…", Dana's face turned redder and walked with larger strides. She stayed silent.

Rin felt really happy that he got a time like this. When he was about to follow Dana again, he heard a groan. He looked at the source of it and saw that bald man who's holding his neck in pain. The bald man had a fierce glaring eyes but Rin was not intimated as this bald man was actually crying from pain until his consciousness gave up.

Rin squinted his eyes and thought, 'That was what I felt for almost three weeks.' Before following the flustered Dana.

After walking through a few streets, they've reached Dana's house which was pretty ordinary.

"We are already at our house.", Dana stared at Rin.

"Hah, then I guess I should go now.", Rin waved a goodbye.

"But, actually, I have no cellphone…" Dana was a bit disappointed until Rin continued, "But I can give you our telephone number if it is okay for you."

Dana's face lightened a bit, "Hmm, in this day and age, who else does not have any phone? But I guess if I can contact you then it would be okay."

After exchanging contact infos, Rin waved another goodbye and left. He was unknowingly skipping on his way back to his house with a stupid smille plastered on his face.Rin chose a differet route as to avoid the scene earlier…..

When Rin reached his house, he immediately unlocked the door and switched the lights on on the entrance hall.

He went straight into the living room were the telephone is. When he was about to reach the lightswitch for the living room, he saw someone on top of their fridge.

Based on the shadow, tt was obviously a man sitting pretty relaxed on top of the fridge but his silhouette is the only thing Rin can see. The light from the entrance hall couldn't reach the living room well that Rin couldn't clearly see who it is.

Right now, Rin is so scared that he couldn't switch on the lights in fear of seeing this man. The silhouette of the man looked like he was eating an apple.

"Hey.", the man spoke hoarsely.

The man was neither threatening nor has a scary appearance but that one word sent chills to Rin's spine. Rin could only tremble in front of this man.

Rin was thinking very hard if he could left any part of the house open for the man to come in but the fact that he couldn't think of any, just made him more scared than to think he did left one.

Rin gulped before mustering his courage to ask, "Who are you?"

Rin could only hear the man chewing the apple he was eating. When the man gulped down, he spoke, "Are you a Blessed or a Cursed?"

"Huh?! What!?", Rin couldn't understand what the man had just asked.

"...Kid, don't be stupid. I meant did you gain or are you the one at loss???", the man bitten down the apple and waited Rin for an answer but Rin was still silent even after he gulped down the apple, "Hmm, you know, that tricky contract that Nathan gave you."

"Nathan??", this name, Rin remember it too well. It wasn't a dream?

"Oh, did he call himself Lucy? But I prefer to call him Nathan though.", Rin couldn't see the man but he felt the intense glare from him, "Well?! Did he not tell you that you are a Blessed if you're lucky with that contract and you are a Cursed if not?"

Rin wanted to ask something but he could only shake his head.
