A Twilight Promise

Morning, after Yuuki returned. They decided to celebrate the promised graduation ceremony in the hospital. Before that, a morning date with Yuuki is what Ryujii planned. They met up at a field near the hospital. They exercised there, Ryujii is fast, because he is good in sports while Yuuki is slow, because she is just bad in sports.

Discovering that little fact adds in a lot of charm to Yuuki, at least from Ryujii's perspective. As they are drenched in sweat, Ryujii suggests that they visit his parents. Yuuki is nervous, but she agreed afterwards. Ryujii reached home, with Yuuki. Kyoko opens the door and is surprised seeing her son bringing a lady home.

"Darling! Our son brought back a girl!" Kyoko shouted in the house. "What?! That boy of ours?!" A voice responded in disbelief. Ryujii told his mother that they will take a bath and some breakfast, they will go to the hospital afterwards.

Kyoko is extremely happy that the fact her son has finally found himself a girlfriend. She immediately turns into celebrating mode that she cooks a lot. While his father is looking stern, but still trying his hardest to contain his happiness.

At least the family are getting along well, since Ryujii took three years to finally meet his father's expectations. Though his father stopped hoping that he will ever achieve anything after he received the news that Ryujii suffered in that chronic disease.

The couple took a while changing their clothes after taking their bath, they made a lot of noise upstairs, but the old couple downstairs are enjoying them. "Uhh I'm sorry to keep you waiting, my name is Shiroyuki Yuuki, I suffered the same condition as Ryujii, so we met a lot... Uh I brought this today, please take good care of me..." Yuuki introduced herself nervously.

"Oh what a wonderful girl you found... Wait... If you suffered the same disease, that means I should be this happy three years ago?" Kyoko exclaimed. "It must be tough huh, taking care of that useless son of ours huh?" Ryujii's father added. Yuuki tilted her head, she is clueless about taking care of him herself. "Ah, it's the opposite, father." Yuuki responded.

Both Ryujii's parents flinched when they heard the word "father" from her mouth. Yuuki then noticed that she said that out loud, she became embarrassed and dives into Ryujii's chest. "Stupid Ryujii!" She said, Ryujii sneezed.

They enjoyed their morning meal along with them reminiscing their past. After the meal, they set out to the hospital, the others should be preparing the party already, while Ryujii is tasked to buy them time to set up to surprise Yuuki.

They reached the hospital after taking a train to the central city. They passed by a man, who they seen before in the hospital. The man seems to recognise them, he shouted at them, words that they don't understand, but they do waved back happily.

They still go on with the surprise. "Congratulations on making the drama a success!" They shouted. That is why Rin is here. "All thanks to you, we didn't made it to celebrate this." Rin said to Yuuki. Yuuki teared up, a lot of memories suddenly flooded into her mind.

She spent her youth here, even making wonderful and unique memories in a place where people don't usually go to. The celebration continued on, they took a group photo, that marks the end of their belated youth, everyone is sure happy in this photograph.

Rin suggested that they redo the drama again, to raise funds for the hospital, these words ignited something within everyone, they nodded and shouted a loud "Yes!".

It's afternoon, the sun is sure harsh but they still moved out to continue their celebration in a karaoke. They sung their hearts out, just the fact that Ryujii is the only person who is tone deaf, which gave everyone an ear torture.

To Yuuki, she said all she heard is an angel singing. The others are disgusted at what she said. They finally finished their karaoke session, they walked out of the complex, to notice it's been raining all the time. Ryujii and Yuuki then looked at each other, finally understood what the man they met earlier meant.

"Will it rain today? Children blessed by the rain goddess." Is what the man said earlier. To think that they unravelled a mystery, they smiled as if they achieved something. The rain stopped after waiting for a while. The sky cleared, the sun shines on the earth, with puddles everywhere.

Aki, Fuyuko and Miku went and run around a puddle, as if they were still kids. The group travelled to the bridge again, just to look at the twilight again. The sun sets, after the rain, the pungent smell of earth accompanied with the orange lights that the sun emitted as it sets over the horizon...

The twilight appeared, as the daily transition between day and night slowly ends, the rain goddess vanished. Indicating the fact that her job is finished.

It seems like everyone is brought together because of the twilight. Enjoy the twilight, as it is always different every day. It happens every day, yet it lasts for a short period of a day. Isn't it breathtaking?
