A Twilight Promise

She hopped down from her bed and rushes to Ryujii's room. On her way there, she saw Aoi entering his room. She slowed down, and eventually stopped. She wondered what happened, why is Aoi entering his room.

She quickly opened Ryujii's door, Aoi is helping Ryujii studying. They seemed intimate. Yuuki demands an explanation, before she finished her words, she glanced at Aoi's left wrist. The moon bracelet is there. Ryujii glares at her. "So you woke up... You are going overseas, so I decided to study hard. Leave me alone, can you...?" Ryujii gave her a cold glare, she felt a grievous anguish deep down her heart.

Yuuki dashed off from his room, and cried alone in her bed. Ryujii dropped a tear, he know that he just hurt the most precious person in his life. "If it hurts, why do you want to do this to her? I feel sorry for Yuuki-chan." Aoi said to Ryujii.

"I know she wouldn't want to receive treatment if we had to separate." Before Ryujii even finish his words, Dr. Hiro entered the room. He grabbed Ryujii's collar and raised him up, his frail body did not resist at all. "I told you that I'll leave her in your hands, what are you doing?!" Even Dr. Hiro lost his cool.

"I'm sorry." Is what Ryujii said. Dr. Hiro put him down, and turns away. "No matter what happened, I want her to leave this place with a smile. Not with a heartbreak. Please settle this matter with your own way." Dr. Hiro left the room.

Ryujii slumped, Aoi pat his shoulder, trying to comfort him. He looked at the bracelet she's wearing. Originally bought for Yuuki as a gift. He returned the sun bracelet to Yuuki, and retrieved the moon bracelet and gave to Aoi.

He couldn't think of anything, yet time passes. Aoi stood next to him as time passed. The light that came in through the window turns yellowish, it's a sunset. Ryujii noticed the change. He tried so hard to avoid looking out of the window, yet something in him is trying to resist his will. He turned his head and looked at the twilight.

"She must be looking at it too..." Ryujii murmured. He hurts Yuuki so that she will agree to go overseas. But that is just an excuse. The one who doesn't want to separate with each other is no one other than Ryujii himself. Even though he knows this, he couldn't do anything. Knowing her by now, she wouldn't let him enter her room. He's stuck.

He walked out, he said that he is going to meet Dr. Hiro, Aoi nods and then proceeds to sit on a nearby chair. Ryujii hasn't been moving around since he started studying. He walked slowly, step by step, passed by Dr. Hiro. "Where are you thinking you are going?" Dr. Hiro asked.

Ryujii ignored him, and continued moving forward. Dr. Hiro is annoyed, he grabbed the back of his collar. Ryujii falls to the floor. To see how Ryujii's body has been deteriorated to this point, he quickly dragged him to Yuuki's room.

He opened the room and threw him inside. "Don't ever come out before you settle your problems like a man." Dr. Hiro closed the door. Ryujii couldn't stand up, he crawled towards the door, knocking the door lightly. To Yuuki's perspective, it seems like he is using all of his might to knock the door.

"What happened to you?" Yuuki asked. Ryujii stopped knocking, he tried to stand up, but he couldn't. Yuuki quickly helped him up. He finally couldn't take it anymore. He leans to her shoulder and cried like a baby. Yuuki was shocked, but she understood him. She let him cry as he wants, until he quieted down.

Ryujii apologised, and explained the situation to her. As he is too weak to be able to make up excuses, he uttered the words that he couldn't express at all. "Today's twilight was lonely. Even though there is someone with me, I can only feel sadness from that beautiful view. I think, I missed you." He said.

Yuuki blushed. They continued talking, no one knows what they talked about, at least Ryujii is heard laughing. Yuuki's laughter can also be heard outside the room. Dr. Hiro sighed and then left the room.

Morning, Aoi enters Ryujii's room to see the two of them studying together. "So are you guys together again?" Aoi asked. Yuuki and Ryujii looked at each other, they laughed. Aoi let out a sigh of relief, she took out the moon bracelet and handed it over to Yuuki.

"I guess I'm not needed anymore huh?" Aoi said to Yuuki. Ryujii snatched the bracelet, holding Yuuki's left hand. "I thought if I put this bracelet for you, it would look cool." Ryujii said. "Pffft..." The two girls bursted in laughter.

Dr. Hiro entered the room. "I know you would be here, Yuuki-chan." Dr. Hiro said. "Aww don't call me like that you stupid brother!" Yuuki said in an embarrassed look. Everyone in the room started laughing. "I've made an appointment with the surgeon, it is scheduled to be next week. It seems like he already prepared everything for you. And... You need to depart by tomorrow. Celebrate your farewell and get prepared for tomorrow." Dr. Hiro said, then leaves the room.

Ryujii continued to wear the bracelet on her wrist. And holds both of her hands. "I promise you that yesterday will be the only day we are separated." Ryujii said in a serious tone. Yuuki tried to hold in her laughter but failed.

It seems like both of them already started going out, that they hold hands. Relieved from his responsibility, Dr. Hiro started to look at his surroundings. Kaori passed by with a slight blush, she smiled at him politely. "Oh god, how come I didn't notice that Miss Kaori is that cute?!" Dr. Hiro screamed in his head.

Yuuki and Ryujii spent their entire day together. They became more intimate than before. Reminiscing all the things they did together, taking pictures from a lot of places in the hospital. Fumi even rushed to the hospital with Makoto. "Where's the other guy?" Ryujii asked. "Shun went out for a date with Rin." Is what they said. They felt happy for both newly formed couples and started taking photos for Yuuki as a memento.

The last picture, on the rooftop, with the yellowish sky and the sinking sun. They took a new version of "Eternal Twilight" and claimed it as a masterpiece, they decided to put it on a photography contest as well.

It is the day of departure, Yuuki brought along her luggage, walking on the hallway, the wheels makes noise as she walked. The Drama Club members are already at the entrance hoping to see her off. Ryujii is also there too, waving at her, she waves back excitedly.

"Prez! Please come back alive!" Yamato exclaimed, everyone then repeats the same sentence, giving her a hug together. "Thank you for helping me making memories by joining in the club, although we didn't get to celebrate our success, I hope we can celebrate when we meet again, take care everyone." Yuuki said with tears in her eyes, flowing down her cheeks like a river.

Yuuki and Ryujii kissed and hugged. Their interactions blown them away. "Since when they became this intimate?!" They all had the same thought. With Yuuki leaves the hospital, everyone waved at her, bidding her a farewell. She waves back until the car she is in exited the hospital entrance.
