A Twilight Promise

After completing the costumes, preparing the stage and also countless efforts of hospital staff volunteering to spread the word about the performance, it's seven days until the Drama Club's performance.

Dr. Hiro went overseas for a meeting about Yuuki and Ryujii's conditions. He promised to return by the performance, so he left. They rehearsed frequently, thus days passed by with laughter, not to mention that some of them spent their time differently with their newly found relationships.

Haruto and Ami revealed their relationship with the club, most of them are astonished as they heard the news. Yuuki and Sakura is happy for her friend, while Daisuke is nervous about confessing to Sakura.

While Sakura seems clueless about Daisuke's feelings. Yamato read the atmosphere and patted Daisuke's shoulder. "No worries brother, it will work out fine." Yamato said to Daisuke.

Ryujii on the other hand is looking at his left wrist with the bracelet that has a sun pattern on it. He smiles when he is looking at it. On a costume rehearsal, Rin noticed the bracelets, and then asked them to take them off.

"Rin-chan, is there a way to include the bracelets into the play? Please..." Yuuki asked Rin. Rin noticed that these are couple accessories that can be attached together to form a pattern where part of the moon is in the sun. It looks amazing that Rin decided to edit the script a bit. Yuuki is very happy.

Three days before the performance, Dr. Hiro returned, exhausted. He took two days leave to rest, and he decides to help out on that day. Dr. Hiro seems relaxed and rather happy when he returned. Is there any good news?

The ticket sales was amazing, the whole hall is almost full that they need to arrange more seats for extra visitors. One day before the performance, it was evening. Ryujii and Yuuki sat on the rooftop, looking at the sky. Their hands touched, although they don't mind, but their faces had a slight blush in them.

The day finally arrived. The hall is crowded, and they arrived safely to the town hall booked for this performance. All of them are nervous, so as the people who volunteers to help in the backstage. Fumi, Makoto and Shun helps with taking photos and also recording the whole performance.

Rin is also present, she helps out with the equipments and also as the narrator. Some of the parents are also invited to sit in the front seat. The visitors are looking forward for their performances, so as the actors.

Lights out, the stage curtains slowly opens, the audiences applaused like thunder, and slowly quieted down as the the show began.

"There was a time, where there existed humans and demons in this world. They coexisted, but there is no peace."

"The demon king, Fiel III was ambitious, he wanted to eliminate all humanity, and make this world a peaceful world for his kind to live in."

"However, not only Fiel thinks about that, the human prince, Alexander IV also thinks the same. His father, Alexander III died on the demon king's hand, so he sought revenge."

"The demon troops invaded the human kingdom, killing countless innocent people on their way, Princess Elizabeth, who was about to marry the prince, is abducted in the process."

The stage shows Yuuki as Princess Elizabeth sitting in a well furnished room. It looks like prison to her, even though it was fancy and comfortable. The demon servants came in, offering her meals.

"Human princess, this is your meal. The king requested to keep you healthy in order to make the human kingdom surrender themselves." Miku said.

"Yeah! Soon, you humans will be killed one by one!" Aki exclaimed.

"Finally... Peaceful..." Fuyuko whispered.

"Elizabeth wasn't convinced, but she heard their part of the story. It seems like humans were hunting on innocent demons, and then calls them evil. They humiliated their kind by chopping off their heads and throw them into the demon territories." "So, the tales of the demon hero was all a lie!" Elizabeth exclaimed.

"Elizabeth shared her meal with the servants, they all had a good time together. She then requested to see the demon king, in which he agreed." Ryujii as Fiel III, walked into her room. He looked scary, even Elizabeth started to regret asking him to meet her.

"Oh dear, it's the demon king in flesh, he looks so scary! I regretted asking to meet him!" Elizabeth thought.

"Oh my, she is different as other humans, so beautiful." Fiel thought. The two talked about the crimes committed by both races, the discussion went unresolved, both of them are exhausted.

"As the sun sets, it's now twilight. Fiel looked at the sky, with an amazed look on his face, he looked vulnerable. The princess also looked at the sky, the twilight seems to be longer than he saw back in the kingdom, she loved it here despite it is the enemy territory."

"Day by day, Elizabeth shared stories of her kingdom with Fiel, Fiel is amused with her stories. He slowly gives up his ambition to conquer the world."

"They began meeting each other every day, days passed rather cheerfully despite the usual gloomy atmosphere. At a certain point of time, some demons had second thoughts."

Daisuke and Yamato is hiding in a corner. "It seems like the king adores the human woman, if his majesty decides to marry that woman, wouldn't that mean that he will spare the humans?" Daisuke said.

"Yes brother, I know, the king that does not listen to the people's wishes are not our king!" Yamato responded.

"War is still going on, Prince Alexander IV decides to lead his army into the battle. Due to Fiel's negligence, the defenses are weak, the humans conquered most of the demon territories. Demons are slaughtered, the streets and paths are covered in demon blood, which shows the sign of human's victory."

"Fiel is saddened to know the news, he went to his throne and opened a chest behind it. It was the bracelet of mighty power granted by gods. He splited the bracelet into two, and offered it to Elizabeth. "With this, I'll come to you when you are in danger." Fiel said to Elizabeth. The princess is touched, they then embraced each other."

"However, all the good times do not last long. The humans broke into the demon kingdom, claiming more lives as they marched forward. The knights searched the cells, yet there is no traces of the abducted princess."

"Fiel sensed the danger, he walked out of the room, unarmed ambushed by Prince Alexander IV himself. However he did not resist, his signal of his danger is involuntarily sent to Elizabeth, which led her out to his location." "Fiel! No! Your majesty, please release him, he means no harm!" Elizabeth begged the prince.

"As the blood splattered to her bracelet, Elizabeth became a demon herself. She defeated Alexander IV and drove his army back into his territories. The demons who were against their relationship witnessed the fact that she is no longer human, they sworn their loyalty towards their new queen."

"Queen Elizabeth Fiel I, ruled the remaining demon territory, with kindness, but she is also a strict ruler. The demon now coexist with humans peacefully as she signed a contract with the new king of the human kingdom, King Alexander IV."

"There is a myth about her and the former former demon king, Fiel III. Upon twilight every day, the spirit of his majesty returns to her side, just for the span of the twilight. She does not show expressions when she is on the throne, but only during twilights, she is said to smile like a young maiden."

The show ended. The audience applauded, some of them cried and some of them cheered on them. They knew they did a good job here, and then all the actors bowed to the audience. After the visitors left the hall, they cleaned up the hall, and then discussing how to celebrate their success. As Ryujii asked Yuuki about it, she collapsed. The nurses and Dr. Hiro brought her into the emergency room.

Everyone is worried. Ryujii, knew that she would have not much time remaining. Reminding himself that her life is about to end, he grits in anguish. Every breath feels like poison. He secretly swear that he will cherish the time with her even more.
