A Twilight Promise

"Happy birthday, Ryujii and Yuuki!" A surprise thrown to the two of them by the drama club.

Yuuki was shocked. "Yes, I don't even know his birthday yet! I should have known this first!" Yuuki thought. "Oh my, I should have told her my birthday!" Ryujii thought.

Both of them turned to each other and shouted their birthdays together. "10th August!" Ryujii said. "14th November!" Yuuki said. The two of them blushed and faced the other way.

Kaori and Yamato are watching them. "They are really amusing right?" Yamato asked. "Uh uh, I agree." Kaori replied. The others are laughing at them. Miku runs to Ryujii's leg and pulled his pant's sleeve, asking them to blow the candles.

Ryujii hesitantly going to blow, Aki stood up and stopped him. "Yuuki onee-san, come blow them together!" Aki exclaimed. The two of them looked at each other, their eyes met.

"So embarrassing!" They both thought. "They should be honest to each other." Haruto whispered to Ami, which Ami nodded happily. They finally mustered the courage to blow the candles together. They both made a wish and cut the cake.

"It... Looks like... Wedding cake... Pfft..." Fuyuko said. Everyone suddenly burst into laughter, they were always good in lightening the mood. It's always happy to be with them.

"I wondered what you wished for... My wish is that you can find happiness in the future... I wished that you can get to live on... Not bound by this stupid illness..." Yuuki thought.

"I wondered what he wished for... I wished that she is able to survive this... If not... I just want you to enjoy our remaining time to the fullest..." Ryujii thought.

Two heavy wishes in a light occasion, it's obvious that they do have feelings to each other, however there is something between them. They tried to protect each other's happiness.

A girl suddenly approached them. "Ryujii, why are you here?" The girl said in surprise. "Aoi-chan? Why are you here?" Ryujii asked as well. Yuuki sensed rivalry with her. This Aoi girl seems too friendly to him, Ryujii doesn't even seem to hate her touching him casually.

Everyone else in the party senses an aura of jelousity emanating from Yuuki. They also tried to signal Ryujii to stop flirting with that girl. Aoi noticed the others, she then introduced herself to everyone.

"My name is Hanakawa Aoi, I'm Ryujii's childhood friend! I came here to take care of my mother, thank you for taking care of Ryujii! I should be leaving now, see you later Ryujii!" Aoi bowed in gratitude and then leaves them.

Ryujii noticed the glare of Yuuki, even him understood the situation and then explained everything to them. Yuuki then forgave him. They continue to celebrate their birthdays, until curfew hours.

They had fun, Aoi seems to be aware of his feelings towards Yuuki. She leans to a wall, "Ryujii has grown so much huh?" She touches her chest, her heart is beating rapidly. "Seems like I still do have feelings towards him huh?" She giggled.
