You're My Only Star

After making sure that Xia Yu had fallen asleep, Huo Yun Chen finally stepped out of the wardroom. He looked around and finally, his gaze stopped at the man who stood in the corridor, facing the window.

Brother Xiang turned around as he heard the movement. He raised his brow and hung up the phone call. "Is she asleep?"

"Mhm..." Huo Yun Chen nodded. "She fell asleep after a while."

"The hospital procedure is all settled. I have talked to a few people and they said Mrs. Lu will send someone to look after Miss Xia." Brother Xiang said. "Huo Yun Chen, what do you want to do now? Going back to Capital City?"

Huo Yun Chen looked out the window at the scenery before them. Fortunately, Xia Yu was placed in the VIP room to recuperate. Other than the authorized people, there will not be many people walking back and forth on this floor.

"Brother Xiang let's stay here for a while," Huo Yun Chen spoke. "I still worry about her."

The manager stared at the celebrity for a few seconds long and chuckled. "Why you? Huo Yun Chen, what is Miss Xia to you? Why are you so concerned about her?"

Huo Yun Chen opened his mouth to speak, but Brother Xiang had cut the words he wanted to say.

"Don't tell me that it's because she had helped you previously."

Huo Yun Chen stared at his manager speechlessly, wondering if he had suddenly become a mind reader. He quickly moved his gaze away from the manager. Huo Yun Chen thought that the manager's eyes were a little piercing. It was as if he was trying to look into his soul.

Huo Yun Chen thought about his manager's question for a long time. However, other than that reason, he could not figure out another answer.

Brother Xiang rubbed the space between his brow and heaved a long sigh.

He has been Huo Yun Chen's manager for years and naturally understood him well. How can he not notice his strange behavior?

"Huo Yun Chen," Brother Xiang called his name. "Do you like Miss Xia?"

His heart skipped a beat at the unexpected question. Huo Yun Chen looked at his manager and saw that the man was being serious.

He opened his mouth to answer but found out that he could not deny it right away.

Huo Yun Chen started to ponder this question seriously.

All he knew was that he did not like her and that, being around Xia Yu was quite relaxing.

When Xia Yu woke up again, Huo Yun Chen was nowhere to be seen but instead, a young woman with clear, bright eyes were waiting by her side.

The moment she moved, the young lady stood up and went to her side. "Miss Xia, you're awake."

"You..." Xia Yu frowned. "Who are you?"

"My name is Xu Lan Xiang. You can just call me Lan Xiang. Miss Xia, rest assured. It was Mrs. Lu who sent me over to look after you."

It took her a few seconds to figure out that this Mrs. Lu is her gaming friend, Song Xing Xing.

Last time, Huo Yun Chen had told her that Song Xin Xing was aware of her situation. However, Xia Yu did not expect that this girl would be kind enough that she would arrange for someone to look after her.

Xia Yu felt a little awkward to receive their kindness.

She wanted to ask this girl about Huo Yun Chen but was worried that she would it would be inappropriate to mention that man.

"Miss Xia, if you need anything, you can just call me," Xu Lan Xiang said. "I will do my best to assist you." The girl turned around and poured a glass of water. "Miss Xi, would you like to have a drink?"

Xia Yu nodded. She supported her body with her hand and tried to sit up. However, she then realized that she could not make any move. Her gaze fell on her hanging left leg. Then, she remember that her legs were broken after her fall.

The memories of what happened made her heart turn colder.

Xu Lan Xiang quickly helped to adjust her bed so that Xia Yu would be sitting in a comfortable position. Then, she helped her to drink some water. Xia Yu could only drink slowly.

Just then, someone knocked on the door and the door was pushed open from the outside.

Huo Yun Chen entered the room carrying an insulated food box in his hand.

Xia Yu could not hide her surprise the moment she saw the man walk into the room. She was convinced that Huo Yun Chen had left for Capital City after helping her with the hospital admittance. Unexpectedly, this man was still around.

Xu Lan Xiang looked at the man who had suddenly appeared without a hint of surprise. She turned to Xia Yu and spoke, "Miss Xia, I'll go out first."

Xia Yu did not manage to say anything and the girl had already walked out.

"Are you feeling better?" Huo Yun Chen asked as soon as the door closed behind him. He placed the insulated food box on the table and looked at the woman on the bed. The corner of his lips tilted up when he saw the strange look on her face. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Why are you still here?"

"You think I would have left?" Huo Yun Chen flashed her smile. "I brought you some porridge. You should eat. You haven't eaten anything all day."

Xia Yu did want to move but her condition prevented her from doing so. She could only watch him as he poured some porridge into the bowl.

Her expression grew numb upon seeing that the man sat beside her and raised the spoon as if to feed her.

The anesthetic gradually faded and she could feel the pain all over her body. Therefore, this shouldn't be a dream, right?

"Open your mouth and eat," Huo Yun Chen spoke. There was a hint of coaxing in his voice. He heaved a sigh upon seeing that the girl was still unmoved. "You will need some energy. Afterward, I have some important matters that I needed to discuss with you."

"What is it?"

"Eat first."

"I can eat by myself."

His brow rose. "Your hands are still injured."

Xia Yu hesitated. She wanted to wait for that female caretaker, but her instinct told her that the girl would not return anytime soon. in the end, she opened her mouth and let Huo Yun Chen feed her.

Her heartbeat accelerated. Her mind and body were numb all over.. Xia Yu could not figure out what was going on.
