You're My Only Star

Xia Yu thought that she had died and was now in heaven.

Or else, how could she explain why she could see Huo Yun Chen standing beside her? He seemed so real and alive...

Could it be that the anesthetic was still working and she was imagining things?

Xia Yu had worked in a hospital long enough to see just how anesthetic would make one feel. The other day, there was a patient who hallucinate and said that he could see his deceased parents by his bed. Xia Yu thought that her situation was similar to that patient.

Her eyes trembled as she watched Huo Yun Chen stretch his hand to touch her cheek. Then, he pressed the bell at the side of her bed.

Xia Yu watched his movement with a dazed look on her face. Huo Yun Chen's touch was warm and she could still feel his lingering touch on her cheek. Xia Yu was having a hard time wondering whether everything in front of her was real or not.

Soon, a man in a white coat entered with a nurse behind him.

The doctor asked her a few basic questions and Xia Yu replied to him with a weak voice.

She watched as the doctor gave her a check-up and finally figured out that everything in front of her was real. Her gaze fell on Huo Yun Chen again and a puzzled look appeared on her face.

What was he doing here? Shouldn't he be in Capital City?

The doctor explained to her about her injury.

Because she was a nurse, Xia Yu immediately understood the seriousness of her injury. Thinking about how she would have to spend a few months in the hospital made her heart ache.

It seemed that this time... she have to give up on her dream. With her condition, there was no way that she could accept the offer to further her study.

She can't leave this town or this family.

Her heart was in so much pain that tears began to stream down her cheek.

Huo Yun Chen watched her cry and started to panic. He looked around and finally pulled out a few tissue papers to help Xia Yu dry up her tears.

"Don't cry."

Hearing his voice only makes her feel like crying more. However, Xia Yu suppressed that feeling and finally spoke with a trembling voice. "Why are you here?"

Her throat was still dry and her voice sounded hoarse.

"The nurse contacted me when they could not reach your family," Huo Yun Chen said. "You were in a life and death situation. I can't ignore you and leave you alone."

"Your fans..." Xia Yu recalled what had happened to Huo Yun Chen a few weeks ago and started to worry.

"Don't worry," Huo Yun Chen spoke before she could finish her question. "This time, I came with my manager and the security team. My fans did not know that I came here and the hospital had agreed to keep this matter confidential."

A helpless sigh escaped him.

This person was injured and she still worried about him.

Xia Yu pursed her lips into a thin line. It was then that she noticed that her surrounding was a little different. She had occupied this large room all to herself. Xia Yu did not doubt that it might have something to do with this man in front of her.

He walked over to the side table and poured her a glass of water. Then, he realized that the person was injured and she still can't drink directly from the glass.

After thinking for a while, Huo Yun Chen took cotton and dabbed the water to her lips.

Xia Yu flinched but she then realized that she has been too thirsty.

Huo Yun Chen observed her and thought about what Nurse Wei had said to him previously. Xia Yu had his number on a speed dial.

He was curious to know why she had set him on her speed dial but he could not bring herself to ask.

The phone in his pocket buzzed. Huo Yun Chen put the glass of water on the table and noticed a message from Song Xing Xing.

Seeing that Xia Yu had woken up, he immediately text back to inform her that Xia Yu had regained consciousness a while ago.

"Little Star knew about you and was worried about you as well," Huo Yun Chen said. "We already knew what happened to you. In fact, it was her who had arranged your situation here before I could arrive." 

Because Song Xing Xing had used her connection, Xia Yu was able to undergo surgery safely.

Xia Yu lowered her gaze. She was embarrassed that both Huo Yun Chen and Song Xing Xing knew about her family situation. However, their care made her feel warm. The three of them were familiar because of that game but both Huo Yun Chen and Song Xing Xing were very nice to her. 

It was then that she remember her family member.

Her brother had pushed her down the second floor and she passed out. She did not know what had happened to her brother afterward. Did he escape?

As if he knew what she was curious about, Huo Yun Chen continued to explain, "Your neighbors saw what happened and called the police. There are eyewitnesses and evidence. Your brother was detained."

Huo Yun Chen did not want to say a word about Xia Yu's mother. He was worried that she would be sad.

"What do you want to do now?"

Xia Yu could not answer his question. She did not know what she wanted to do now. Thinking about the chance to pursue her study that she had to let go make her dispirited. She wondered if she should just give up on everything.

Huo Yun Chen saw the look on her face and thought that she still wanted some time to think of what she wanted to do.

He wanted to convince her not to be soft-hearted to her brother or mother. However, this was not the right time to say his mind. Xia Yu was still tired and she could not be too stressed.

"You are still tired," Huo Yun Chen said. "Xia Yu, get some sleep and rest. When you wake up, you can figure out what you wanted to do next."

Xia Yu nodded.. Since she was not in the mood to think or say anything about her family, Xia Yu closed her eyes and finally fell asleep.
