You're My Only Star

On the weekend, Lu Xun picked up Song Xing Xing from her apartment and drove over to the place where they were supposed to be meeting.

While Lu Xun was concentrating on his driving, Song Xing Xing took out her phone and decided to login into the game to complete a few daily missions.

She browsed through her friend's list and noticed that her friend, Player99, hasn't been online for a long time. Now that she thought about it, it has been a while since that person had come to her and requested her help with a few high-ranked missions.

It felt as if this person has gone missing.

"Hmm..."

Lu Xun noticed the change in her expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing much." Song Xing Xing flashed him an assuring smile

"Your tone doesn't seem like it's nothing."

"A few months ago, I met this player in the game and added him as a friend. But I noticed that he hasn't been online for a while."

A frown appeared on his face. Lu Xun knew that his girlfriend was quite popular among the players in 'Legends of the Sky' and that she had many close friends.

Not too long ago, while she was accompanying him to fight some big boss, Lu Xun had watched how a few of her guild members flirted with her.

It would be a lie to say that he was not jealous. Fortunately, those guys were merely her online friends and had never met her in real life before.

Thinking that Song Xing Xing was about to tell him that another guy was hitting on her, Lu Xun became unhappy.

"Maybe that person got bored and decided to stop playing," Lu Xun answered while keeping his cool.

"Hmm... That's possible." Song Xing Xing heaved a sigh. She closed her game and turned to Lu Xun again. The smile on her face widened as she was thinking of telling him something interesting. "Let me tell you something."

"What?"

"This player is a little strange." Her expression changed as she was thinking of how she should be telling Lu Xun about her encounter with Player99. "Actually, this player is not the original owner of the account. I heard that he had paid a large sum of money to buy this account from the original player," Song Xing Xing said.

By this time, Lu Xun was fifty percent sure that his girlfriend was talking about Player99, the account that he had bought to impress his girlfriend.

"I helped him around and chatted with him a little bit," Song Xing Xing continued. She was absolutely oblivious of her boyfriend's changing expression. "Later, I found out that he had bought the account because he wanted to study mobile gaming as he was planning to develop a game."

Lu Xun could not smile as he continued to listen to his girlfriend telling him about this person. He cleared his throat and asked with a casual expression. "What is this person's ID name?"

"It's Player 99. Have you run into him before?"

"I haven't." Lu Xun pursed his lips into a thin line. He did not dare to glance at her again just in case that she would find out that there was something wrong with him. Suddenly, he was wondering how would his girlfriend react if she knew that Player99 who she had helped in that game is him.

"You say, do you think that this person quit the game because he was working on the new game?"

"It could be the reason."

Song Xing Xing heaved a disappointed sigh. "He should at least tell me before he quit. Shouldn't he at least tell me about the game he's working on? Maybe I can apply as the beta game tester."

Lu Xun chuckled. His palm was sweating profusely. "NEXT Group is planning to enter the mobile gaming industry as well."

Her eyes lit up upon hearing his words. "Really?"

A breath of relief escaped him knowing that he had successfully changed the subject.

"Hmm..." Lu Xun nodded. "A few months ago, we met a group of young men who wanted NEXT Group to invest in their project. I saw that their project looks good and had agreed to work with them. When the game is ready, I will let you test the game."

"The reason I was attracted to 'Legend of the Sky is because of the adorable character design and the costumes." Song Xing Xing laughed. "Later, I stayed around because the community was quite nice. It did not feel right to quit."

"You're here," Zhang Yu Han was the first to greet him.

"Auntie Xing Xing!" A small figure came from behind him and ran over towards Song Xing Xing. Zhang Li Xue smiled brightly and tugged at her hand. "Auntie Xing Xing, come over and play with us."

"Li Xue." The girl's mother, Li Qin Yao appeared behind her and shook her head softly.

The little girl lowered her head and pouted.

Seeing this, Song Xing Xing patted the little girl's head and whispered, "I'll play with you after this, alright?"

Lu Xun cleared his throat as he looked at his friends surrounding him. "I'm not the last one to arrive, am I?"

"Fortunately, you're not." One of the men replied. "It seemed that both Celine and Long Fei are not here yet.. Come on in. Why don't you introduce your girlfriend to us first?"
