You're My Only Star

On the next day, Song Xing Xing went out in the afternoon with her family members to Qiu's residence. When they arrived, Song Xing Xing went to join her friends to catch up. A few of her friends had already arrived at the residence and they were now waiting for the star of the day to appear.

Song Wei joined his friends and stood at the corner to watch his sister. His eyes narrowed as he watched every man around his sister.

A few days ago, Song Wei overheard that his sister has someone she liked. Although she had mentioned that the other party is someone who happen to work with her, Song Wei was having a difficult time believing his sister's words.

Seeing the way his sister was dressing up, Song Wei's detective radar began to tingle. He began to suspect that perhaps, the person that his sister liked might appear at the event. 

This was the first time that his sister had shown interest in another gender. Just like their mother, Song Wei was worried that his sister might be duped by someone.

As the brother, it has become his task to keep his eyes on her. Once he found out who that person is, Song Wei was planning to make a thorough background check on this person. 

As Song Wei thought of his plan, the smile on his face widened. If one looked at him right now, one would be able to see the malicious light in his eyes.

Song Wei turned to his friends and the group began to chat. After a while, his gaze moved towards his sister and her group of friends again.

His eyes narrowed as he saw a tall guy walking over in his sister's direction. Seeing how his sister was chatting happily with that person, Song Wei was almost sure that he had made the right guess. The person that her sister was dating had come to this event.

Meanwhile, Song Xing Xing was having a hard time facing the person in front of her.

She knew that she would run into Qiu Yang at this engagement party but Song Xing Xing did not expect that this person would speak to her and ignored everyone else around.

Ever since the last time that her mother had tried to set her up with Qiu Yang, Song Xing Xing felt that staying around him felt a little awkward. However, no matter how much she tried to avoid him, Qiu Yang continued to stay around.

At this time, Song Xing Xing only hope that Qiu Ling Yi would appear soon so that she could avoid her brother.

"Are you still working for your cousin?" Qiu Yang asked.

"Mhm..." Song Xing Xing did not deny it, After she moved to Capital City, everyone had thought that she was working for Song Yi's IT company. To avoid trouble, Song Xing Xing had never denied it. Anyway, it wasn't as if anyone would come to Song Yi's company to look after her.

"I went over a few weeks ago but I did not see you around."

Song Xing Xing let out a dry cough.

"I ran into your cousin brother, Song Yi and he said you were on a break."

At this time, she was thankful that Song Yi had helped her with this matter.

"Too bad, we missed each other." Qiu Yang flashed her a mesmerizing smile.

"Why are you looking for me?"

"I have been in Capital City for a few months but there were a lot of things that I know nothing about. We are both from Y City. Since we were both in Capital City, I thought that you could help me around." Qiu Yang raised the glass in his hand and took a sip at it. "That's right, Song Xing Xing, why don't we exchange numbers?" With his free hand, Qiu Yang took out the phone from his pocket. "This way, it would be easier for us to contact each other."

Song Xing Xing stared at his phone speechlessly. She raised her head and saw that the man continued to look at her with an expectant gaze.

Taking a deep breath, she then spoke. "Actually, I have a boyfriend."

The smile on his face stiffened. Qiu Yang looked at the girl in front of him and laughed. "It's fine. I just wanted to ask your opinion on something. Since you have been staying in Capital City for a while, I thought that you would know a few good places that you can recommend to me. I did not mean anything."

Hearing his words, Song Xing Xing was embarrassed again. She wondered if she had misunderstood his intention. After pondering for a while, Song Xing Xing took out her phone and let him scan her ID.

Just in time, Song Wei appeared by their side. He looked at Qiu Yang from head to toe and greeted him. "Brother Qiu Yang."

Qiu Yang nodded at him. "Song Wei. It seemed that you have grown a little taller since the last time we saw each other."

The two men exchanged a few polite words for a while before Song Wei pulled his sister away from the crowd. "Sister, were you dating Brother Qiu Yang?"

Song Xing Xing stared at her brother with her eyes wide. "Don't be ridiculous. My God. It was awkward enough to talk to him. How did you get that idea?" She raised a brow and continued, "Moreover, didn't I tell you that my boyfriend is someone I work with?"

Song Wei gasped loudly. He was planning to probe into her sister's dating life but he did not expect that she would admit that she was dating someone. "Your boyfriend?" His voice sounded a little deep and dangerous.

At this time, Song Xing Xing realized that she had made a mistake. She let out a cough and looked at her brother anxiously. "So what if I'm dating someone?"

"Who is it?" A thought came to his mind. "Sister, could it be that the man is tricking you?"

Her face turned dark. Initially, he was relieved that her brother had got her out of that awkward situation with Qiu Yang. Song Xing Xing did not like it that her brother was bad-mouthing her boyfriend. "He's not. Am I a child? Why would I let someone trick me?"

Just now... didn't he trick her into telling him that she was dating someone?

He let out a sigh and spoke, "Sister, that is not what I meant. I am only worried about you."

"He's not that kind of person. My eyes are still good. You should trust my judgment."

Song Wei pursed his lips into a thin line. This was not a good time to argue with her sister. "Are you not going to tell me about the person you're dating?"

Her cheek blushed as the face of the person that she has been missing appeared in her mind.. "Let's talk about this when we get home."
