You're My Only Star

Song Xing Xing felt as if something heavy was lifted off her shoulder. She peeked at her mother, trying to guess her mother's thought. However, she could not figure out what was in her mother's mind.

Her hand tightened into a fist.

Now that she had told her mother his name, Song Xing Xing could only brace herself as she wait for her mother's reaction. She was ready to face anything.

"Lu Xun?" she repeated the name. "I know him?"

Ye Ling Feng thought that this name, Lu Xun sounded very familiar. However, now that her daughter had mentioned the name, Ye Ling Feng was having trouble trying to figure out who this person is.

As she was not someone who would pay attention to the entertainment news, Ye Ling Feng was unaware of the news that Lu Xun had admitted to being in a relationship with her daughter.

A face appeared in her mind but Ye Ling Feng thought that her daughter shouldn't be dating the person in her mind.

"Mom, he attended grandfather's birthday party."

The moment Ye Ling Feng heard that she immediately knew that the person in her mind was the same person that her daughter was speaking about.

"Lu Xun, Song Yi's friend?"

"Un." Song Xing Xing nodded. "Mom, I'm dating him."

Ye Ling Feng gasped. "Are you serious?"

"Mom, I would not joke around about such a matter."

"But... isn't he the same age as your cousin? Xing Xing, isn't he a little older than you? How did you two get to know each other?"

"He's the big boss at the studio that I work with," Song Xing Xing said. "The company belonged to him. We ran into each other a few times during the company's event and I thought that he's very nice."

Hearing that, Ye Ling Feng began to worry again.

While the girls around Xing Xing's age began to date someone, her daughter had not spared a look at boys her age and had studied hard. Even while she was in university, this daughter continued to study hard until she had graduated. At one time Ye Ling Feng began to wonder if her daughter had no interest in boys.

Most of the time, first love usually did not last for too long. This was the first time that her baby daughter had liked someone. Therefore, Ye Ling Feng was a little worried that someone was playing tricks with her daughter and hurt her.

"Mom, are you worried that he's a little older than me?" Song Xing Xing asked. "I don't mind his age. I just like him very much."

Ye Ling Feng became speechless. Looking at her daughter, she could tell that her daughter really liked this man. She tried to recall whatever she knew about Lu Xun.

In her memory, that man is good-looking and is very good at what he does. Previously, he had heard her father-in-law praised Lu Xun as well. Or else, how else would he get invited to Old Master's birthday banquet?

Ye Ling Feng heaved helplessly. "What did you like about him? His look?"

Song Xing Xing smiled. "Un... he is good-looking, isn't he?"

Ye Ling Feng began to worry again that her daughter might fall for Lu Xun for his look.

"But that is not the reason I like him," Song Xing Xing said. "However, after meeting him a few times, that feeling just grew. I find that I liked him and that he shared the same feeling."

Of course, Song Xing Xing would not tell her mother how Lu Xun had almost broken her heart when he wanted to stay away from her.

"He might be a little older, but we get along just fine. He... treated me really well."

A sigh escaped her. Ye Ling Feng had a lot to say to her daughter. However, when she saw the foolish smile on her daughter's face, she decided not to say a thing.

This was only the first time that her daughter has been in a relationship. Perhaps she would experience joy and sadness from it. Whatever it was, as her mother, she should give her daughter her utmost support.

Moreover, the elders had already warned them that they shouldn't meddle in the younger generation's relationship.

Lu Xun might be a little older than her daughter but to her knowing, Lu Xun is not a bad person.

Ye Ling Feng patted her daughter's hand. "Well, you're already an adult. As long as you know what you are doing, the mom will support you."

Her eyes lit up upon hearing her mother's words. Song Xing Xing leaned over to her mother's arms and hugged her tightly. She was prepared that her mother was going to be against her dating someone a little older than she was.

Fortunately, her mother was not against her decision.

"You're already seeing each other. If he's serious, then let him come over and meet me and your father," Ye Ling Feng said. "Invite him over to have a meal with is."

Song Xing Xing rolled around the mattress with the phone in her hand. Just listening to the man's voice in the other line was able to make her heartbeat accelerated.

After listening to him updating her on his activity for the day, Song Xing Xing finally told him the news that she has been holding for so long. "Guess what?"

Lu Xun could hear the excitement in her voice. "What is it?"

"I've spoken to my mom and told her that we are dating."

Her heart skipped a beat. Suddenly, he was feeling a little happy and frightened at the same time.

Lu Xun was happy that Song Xing Xing had finally spoken to her mother. However, he was a little scared of her parents' reaction. Most of the people were looking up to him. But to compare himself and his girlfriend, Lu Xun knew that he could not match up to her. The moment her mother heard that she was dating someone older, she would not be at ease, right?

"And then... How did she react?" Lu Xun asked, anxiously. 

"My mom is fine. It's just that... She wanted to invite you to the residence for a meal. Next month, when we're both free, let's head to Y City together."

Lu Xun glanced at the documents on his table and finally replied.. "Alright."
