You're My Only Star

When it was almost time for dinner, Song Xing Xing came down the stairs and found that her father had already returned from work. Her eyes lit up and she went over to her father to greet him.

After she had moved to Capital City and found a permanent job at the studio, it was rare for her to return to Y City. Song Chen looked at the daughter in front of him and patted her head in a pampering manner.

"Xing Xing, how long will you stay in Y City this time?" Song Chen asked.

"This time, I took a week off to accompany you two."

Song Chen smiled happily, "It's good that you're home this time. Your mother has been missing you a lot and she has been complaining that she's too bored now that you and your brother are no longer around."

Song Xing Xing laughed. "Or else, I can ask my mother to accompany me in Capital City."

Hearing her suggestion, Song Chen's expression quickly changed. "Nonsense. This is my wife. Of course, she has to accompany me. If your mother moves to Capital City, then who will accompany me?"

"Then, you have to take some time off to accompany mom. Dad, if you're with her, would mom even have time to think of us?"

Ye Ling Feng scoffed. "Your father is too sticky, to begin with. If he continued to stay with me all the time, then I will probably go crazy."

Her mother looked at her father as if she was despising him. However, the love and adoration in her eyes were too apparent.

Song Xing Xing looked at the way her parents were dressed out and guessed that they would not be having their dinner at the residence. As Song Wei walked down the stairs, Song Xing Xing turned to her mother and asked, "Mom, are we heading out?"

"Mhm... Your grandparents heard that the two of you are at home and they wanted us to come over and have dinner with us," Ye Ling Feng said.

As they arrived at the main house, Song Xing Xing realized that there were a few more vehicles parked outside the door. She turned to her mother and asked, "Someone is coming over as well?"

Song Wei admired the expensive cars and shrugged. "Probably the eldest uncle."

The family of four entered the house and saw that other than their eldest uncle, there was another man in the hall discussing some business as well.

Song Xing Xing looked at the man and was surprised to see that it was Mr. Pan who she had seen attending the after-party during the Red Entertainment Award. 

As the men were still discussing some work matters, Song Xing Xing decided to follow her mother and head over to the kitchen to greet their grandmother.

As they entered the kitchen, the Old Madam was busy instructing the auntie to prepare the ingredients for a dish. Once the Old Madam saw her granddaughter, her expression lit up. "Xing Xing, you're back. Grandma is making your favorite seafood dishes."

Seeing that her grandmother was cooking her favorite food, Song Xing Xing went closer and acted coquettishly with her. Due to her hard work, her grandmother peeled a large prawn and secretly fed her. While chewing the food in her mouth, Song Xing Xing could not resist snapping a few pictures of the food and sent it over to Lu Xun.

Is reply came soon. Song Xing Xing saw that he was jealous of her dinner and the smile on her face widened. Unfortunately for Lu Xun, he was still in the hotel, preparing himself to go out and meeting with his client. Looking at the plate of crayfish was enough to make his stomach grumbled.

As she was busy exchanging a few words with her boyfriend, Song Xing Xing failed to see that her brother was slowly sneaking from behind her.

Sensing the shadow looming over her, Song Xing Xing quickly hid her phone away. Fortunately, she was quick enough and her brother had not managed to see anything on her phone screen.

As she thought of the lovey-dovey message that she had written to Lu Xun, Song Xing Xing became worried that her brother might have seen something that he shouldn't.

"Why are you sneaking up on me" Song Xing Xing narrowed her eyes dangerously at her brother. "Did you see anything?"

Song Wei clicked his tongue. "Look at you... Sister, why are you so anxious? It couldn't be that you are texting that person you liked, right?"

He was only trying to peek because his sister has been staring at her phone for a while, Once in a while, she would giggle like an idiot. Song Wei had thought that her sister was watching some funny video and had wanted to join in the fun. Who would have thought that she would give this big reaction?

Wasn't she overreacting?

As he continued to look at his sister, Song Wei began to suspect something. With each passing second, this seed of doubt grew.

A loud gasp escaped him as Song Wei began to think that he had made a correct guess.

Sensing that someone was about to create trouble for her, Song Xing Xing swiftly tugged at her brother's arms, forcing him to lower down before she covered his mouth with her hand.

Her reaction was the same as admitting to her brother the truth.

Song Wei removed her sister's hand away and stared at her for a long time. It seemed to him that she was begging him not to say a word.

"So, it's true..." Song Wei began to rub at his chin. "Sister, if you want me to keep this secret, it's not impossible."

From his tone, Song Xing Xing could feel that she was being threatened. "What do you want? Money?"

Song Wei clicked his tongue. "Sister, I already have a lot of pocket money. Why would I need your money?" He leaned closer and flashed a smile at her. "Sister, all you need to do is tell me who that guy is. I promise that I would not say a word."

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips into a thin line. "He's the person that I work with."

"Really?" Song Wei was doubting that his sister was telling him the truth."

"Really. Mom also knows about this." Song Xing Xing quickly shifted her gaze away from her brother. "Even if I tell you, you wouldn't know anything about him."

"Then, what is his name?"

"His surname is Lu. This is all I can tell you. Even if you try to pry more from me, I won't be able to tell you anything."

Seeing that his sister wanted to continue and protect this man, Song Wei began to worry that the man that her sister liked would be a bad person who only knew how to trick women. 

This was the first time that her sister had liked someone very much and Song Wei was worried about his sister.. Song Wei wondered if he should start to look into this person.
