You're My Only Star

His expression turned ugly.

Each time that he had seen Shi An Na, Lu Xun would remember how she had hurt him. His heart was aching.

The two of them were a good couple and had a good relationship. They were together most of the time during his university years. She was his first love. Lu Xun had even planned to marry this girl after they graduated.

However, during the final year, they started to drift apart. Lu Xun had thought that his girlfriend was too busy with her study. He did not expect that one day, she would appear in front of him and tell him that she had fallen in love with someone else and will be marrying the guy.

Back then, he had begged her to stay. However, the girl was insistent to leave him. 

She had said that she loved that man very much. The person she was going to marry was someone from a good family and had a lot of money. If she stayed with that man, she will never have to suffer.

He wanted her to stay but she could not wait to leave him.

In the end, this girl had humiliated him. To break up with him, Shi An Na had given him a large sum of money. It was their break-up fee.

When he had seen the money, Lu Xun was stunned to the point that he did not know what he was supposed to do. 

He had begged her to be given a chance but she had been so ruthless.

His anger and disappointment made him accept the money.

Lu Xun had wanted her to know that from then on, there was no way that they could return to the way they were.

He did not want this money and had been spending them carelessly. He wanted to get rid of this money but Lu Xun did not expect that he would be making a lot of money instead.

This was how the company was built.

Shi An Na saw that the man in front of her had not spoken for a long time and thought that he was waiting for her to say something.

"You have to help and explain to Director Pei. He saw that you did not like me around and had wanted to remove me," Shi An Na spoke. "Lu Xun, this is not fair to me."

"Miss Shi, whether or not you lost your job has got nothing to do with me," Lu Xun said. "We are not familiar with each other. So you better stop calling me as if we were close."

Her breath hitched upon hearing his words. Her heart was in so much pain. Shi An Na clenched her hand tightly into a fist and spoke. "I know you are very rich and had your influence. But don't you forget…"

Shi An Na's words were left unfinished as Lu Xun had interrupted her.

"That you have thrown some money as a break-up fee to me?" Lu Xun sneered. "So you want your money back? Sure. I can write a cheque and return the money to you."

"That is not what I meant. Lu Xun, why do you have to hurt me like this?"

Lu Xun turned around to his room. He went to his luggage to get his checkbook. He wrote down an amount of money but when he walked out of the room, the woman was no longer around.

Instead, the hotel's room service staff were standing outside his door.

A heavy sigh escaped him. Lu Xun ran his fingers through his hair and finally let the service staff in to serve the food on his table.

The smell of the food wafted in the room. Lu Xun glanced at the food on the table but he no longer had any appetite. The hand that was holding the cheque tightened.

He had thought that after he took the money, the two of them will no longer have any intersection. Moreover, he had left C Country and had no plan to return because he did not want to risk the chance of running into her.

Lu Xun did not expect that he would still run into Shi An Na again and again.

His phone on the desk chimed, snapping him off his trance. Lu Xun stared at the message notification in a daze. It took him a long time to finally replied to the message. 

Lu Xun snapped a few pictures of the food and pressed the sent button.

Her reply came over soon enough. 

His expression turned softer upon reading her message. The girl had reminded him to eat slowly and not to work up late. Seeing that someone was worried that he had not eaten his dinner, Lu Xun decided to sit down and ate his meal.

The next morning, Special Assistant Bei Yuan appeared in front of his boss's door and saw that his mood was gloomier than it was yesterday.

Bei Yuan was stunned. He had thought that his boss would be in a better mood after he had a good night's sleep. Bei Yuan quickly linked his boss's terrible mood to Manager Shi.

It seemed that something should have happened between them in the past. 

He did not know whether his boss was still in the mood to discuss some business matter in T Country. 

"Bei Yuan, what are you doing?"

The assistant quickly snapped out of his trance.

Seeing that his boss was ready to leave, Bei Yuan quickly contacted the transport. They walked over to the entrance and entered the vehicle.

"Bei Yuan, help me to change the flight to this afternoon."

"We're leaving today?"

"En. We're leaving after my discussion with President Hu."

Bei Yuan took out his phone and check the flight time. A thought came to his mind. He seemed to remember that Miss Song had requested his boss to get him some souvenir.

Judging from his observation the past few days, Bei Yuan was sure that President Lu and Miss Song are in a relationship. That night, when he had sent Miss Song home, he had overheard their conversation.

Bei Yuan hesitated for a few seconds. He decided to brave himself and asked, "Then, President Lu, what about Miss Song's souvenir?" He let out a cough when his boss was looking at him strangely. "Sorry."

Just as Bei Yuan was wondering if he should not be a busybody, his boss had spoken again.

"Then, you can change the flight hour to tonight."
