Feng Jianyu saw a dangerous glint flash in Xiu Mei's eyes that justifies her identity as Zeng Shihong's daughter. He kissed her palm to divert her attention, "So, Princess Qinyang, should we go back to the Imperial city or her highness wants to spend some more time with her family?"

"Her highness is only interested to spend time with the tiny Jianyu hidden in her tummy and this big monster." She touched the tip of Jianyu's nose. Feng Jianyu pretended to bite her finger which she instantly pulled back. "Hey, you are not allowed to bite me." She placed her hands on her flat tummy, "Baby Jianyu, look what your dad is doing."

Yanking her hands away from her stomach, Jianyu buried his face in it. "Hi, my sweetheart! Dady is helpless, tell Mumma to stop calling you Little Jianyu, because you are my little princess, my little Mei."

Xiu Mei's hands were unconsciously playing with his hair. "Tell daddy to keep on dreaming. You're going to be my little superman who will save me from daddy's bullying."

"Mumma is insecure because I'm going to have another beautiful woman in my life." He said in a mocking tone, tilting his face to look at her with a smirk. "So, she is just coaxing her heart with false words."

"Monster, the baby is inside me, it's only fair that I know the gender of my baby. And he is a boy!" She said firmly.

"You are saying as if you have peeked inside your stomach. Is it possible? And don't forget, to make this baby I've contributed equally. I'm sure it's my lovely princess that will rule my heart."

She pouted her lips, "That's not fair, only I can rule your heart. How can you give it to someone else?"

Feng Jianyu chuckled and pulled her down on the bed and hugged her by her stomach, "One will be the queen of my heart and the other will be the princess. And I'll tell my princess how lucky she is to have a mother like you."

Xiu Mei felt a warmth inside her, her heart bloomed like fragrant roses making her fall in love with this man all over again. She silently closed her eyes and prayed to God to fulfill Jianyu's wish of getting a daughter. Though she wanted to see a mini version of Jianyu, she will try it next time.

Thirty-five weeks into pregnancy

Early morning Xiu Mei woke up feeling something churn in her stomach, she pried herself away from Jianyu's arms and crossed his body to rush to the bathroom, followed by the man who was now used to this.

She kneeled down against the pot and retched….

No one warned her morning sickness could last for months. It was like having constant stomach flu. Thrice she'd been in the hospital hooked to the IV drip for rehydration.

Feng Jianyu helped her get up and wash her mouth after she was done. "Thirty-five weeks are over. Just a week or two more. I'm sorry; you've to bear so much because of me."

"Silly! Everything is worth it." She hit his shoulder, as he carried her back to the room and passed a glass of warm water.

Xiu Mei was called to be skinny, weak, and frail for her tiny waist and carelessness towards health. A major reason was her past trauma. But now, with Jianyu paying attention to her diet and with almost nine-month of protruding tummy she looked like a rosy fat doll.

Her expanded stomach showed there's another life growing inside her. Despite Matriarch Feng's medicines and Jianyu's massage and acupuncture, her back ached most of the time. She looked down on her white stretched skin that was no more like marshmallow but taut with green-red veins crawling.

Her old clothes were of no use, shifted to the other room to make space for the entire walk-in-wardrobe of maternity clothes. She hates looking at them, though Jianyu had made sure to get everything customized according to her preference, she had a hard time to swallow her pride and accept the reality of her body.

Who the f*ck said husband also gain weight? Bring him to her, she will kick his a.s.s and take him to Jianyu who is still slim and as handsome as ever.

Now she craves for food entire time, sadly nothing healthy, adding on to many more meals a day. Earlier she would never eat after dinner other than her late-night cravings of ice-cream and chocolates but now within two hours, she was caught munching on cheese puffs and spicy ch.i.p.s.

Who said pregnancy is easy?

But whenever she looked at the happiness on the family's face, they pampering her endlessly, fulfilling her demands even if it's unreasonable, it's worth it!

Seeing Jianyu waking up in the middle of the night whenever she wants to pee, it's worth it!

Seeing him placing his lips against her tummy and wishing her and the baby good morning, it's worth!

Seeing him calling her in between meetings, reminding her of medicines, it's worth!

Seeing him taking her to the doctor on time, and holding her tightly whenever she has to receive an injection, it's worth it!

Seeing him reading books on pregnancy instead of business reports, it's worth it!

Seeing him measuring the size girth of her stomach daily, and smiling noticing the increment, it's worth it.

Everything is worth it for that precious smile he shows whenever he looks at her and their little one growing.

Truly….Having that bulge, that will bring another human to the world who will be half you and half your love, she is extremely grateful to have that privilege.

Feng Jianyu kneeled down against the couch and rested his head on her l.a.p. "I've already dropped the idea of six kids. I'm happy with this one, no more, please."

"AHHH…." Before Xiu Mei could reply, she let out a painful cry, holding her stomach.

"What happened? Does it hurt? Is it contraction? Or again that little monster kicked you?" He lifted his head and touched her stomach.

"Yeah…. The last one!" A helpless smile came on her lips.

Feng Jianyu placed a kiss on her stomach, "Little princess, be good. It hurts mommy whenever you do this. Here, take daddy's kiss for now, I'll give you many more if you would stop hurting mommy."

She chuckled, "The baby is too much active lately, I think it's not long when you'll hold your prince or princess in your arms."

They both decided to not ask the gender of the baby and let be a surprise for them. Every time they went for a check-up, the only question they asked was if the baby doing fine and healthy, that's it. Anyway, they'll eventually know once the baby comes to the world, let it be a surprise for them and the family.
