Under Her Cursed Scythe

29 5 Days Before Halloween PART F

"Not a Witch? Are you sure? You know, Agent 419 here... " the girl with gold wavy hair, who was addressed as Victoria gestured at the burgundy cloaked person. "Is kind of an expert in identifying Witches and Warlock from their disguises due to his extraordinary ability to read auras. This is an ability that none of us in our team has and that's part of the reason why we brought him along this time."

"I know. I'm not saying you are not good at your job, Abz, no offence."

"Call him by his code, Agent 616! We don't want our enemies to learn about our true identities." Victoria warned, darting her eyeballs at Alivia when she said the word "enemies".

"Oh, sorry. Agent 4…19…Anyways, I am not saying you are wrong. But there might be some exceptions or blind spots that we have overlooked. I have this new theory that-"

"Uh, uh." Victoria gestured to the boy before he finished his phrase. "No time for that, Agent 616. Get to the point, please."

"Okay, okay." said the boy in the white cloak and signalled his rabbit-like friend to jump off his shoulder. " Then let me start off with the old-fashioned way."

Reaching into his cloak, he pulled out a small bottle filled with sparkly silver-coloured liquid and after unscrewing the bottle, he sprinkled a few drops of the liquid at Alivia while mumbling unintelligible words under his breath.

"What the hell?"

While fending off the liquids cast towards her, Alivia remembered herself seeing scenes similar to this in exorcism movies that galled her mother but were played over and over again on the television due to Luke's eerie obsession over them. However, she didn't find herself in any pain or struggle in reaction to the liquid like the people in those movies. She just stood there, her mind remain calm and tranquil.

"No reaction towards the Silver!" the boy announced loudly, fascinated at the same time.

He then began to walk around her, placing one of his hand on the hinge area of his goggles and surveying her. A shimmering yellow line appeared and was seen constantly going up and down the lens of the goggle while his head moved upwards and downwards, evaluating her from a distance.

A sense of self-conscious and unease overflowed Alivia in response to the boy's actions. She felt as if she was a zoo animal in a cage or an experimented animal behind the glass, being sized up and discussed on.

'What is this creep doing?' Alivia questioned at the back of her head as her eyes pursued after the boy with attentiveness.

"Excuse me!?"Alivia could feel herself blushing immediately. "It's none of your damn business!"

"Oh sorry! That was disrespectful of me." the boy apologized and cleared his throat. "I should probably rephrase my question a bit. Your bond with the Reaper's ring was established through blood, right?" he inquired with a serious tone of a doctor diagnosing his patient. "And you can activate the ring's magic with your blood."

"I don't know what you are talking about. I don't have this Reaper's ring!" Alivia lied boldly.

"Then tell me, how do you activate your magic? Don't say you don't have magic because we saw you flying in the middle of the air before we caught up to you and the way you evaded our attacks, no normal human can do that."

"…" Alivia didn't respond to the boy this time, shutting her mouth tight and started to breathe through her nostrils as though any sound that came out of her mouth would expose herself to him. However, little did she know, her eyes began to dart around in all direction, uncontrollably and frantically.

"You didn't sign a contract with a daemon, right? Yes? No? Yes?"

"..." Still, no respond came out of Alivia's mouth but the muscles in her neck shivered.

The boy exhaled a breath. "I just want to help you, that's all. You can keep your mouth shut but I already know the answers." he denoted. "Cos your eyes have already gave you away…" As he was saying this, he abruptly lifted up his hand and waved a few strands of hair away from her face. "Your eyes, they-"

Startled by the boy's sudden movements once more, Alivia slapped his hand and recoiled while bawling at him like a fierce stray dog, "Don't touch me!"

"Don't worry. I'm not going to harm you. I just need to see your eyes to make sure-"

"Agent 616!" Victoria interrupted the conversation and shouldered the boy aside while she walked forth. "What are you trying to do exactly? Flirting with a Witch? Is this what your new theory is about?"
