After another night spent inside the abandoned hall's office room, Chu Lixue decided that it's time to leave and search for a new place to live, preferably a base operated by the military.

Just before leaving, Chu Lixue saw her own reflection in the mirror.

'Thanks god I noticed it, I would be shot before even getting close to the military zone, looking like that', she thought, remembering that she didn't replace her tattered cloths yet.

Looking through the memories in her head, Chu Lixue remembered that there was a warehouse in the industrial district belonging to a clothing company, that the original soul used to work for. Remembering the road, she went out. Trying to move as swiftly as possible, when Chu Lixue noticed a zombie walking around the corner it was already too late to get away.

'Ignore me, ignore me, go away...', she thought, hoping that the zombie wouldn't attack her.

Both of them looked at each other, until the zombie slowly began to move in another direction, ignoring her. Chu Lixue was ecstatic, swiftly moving closer to the warehouse, moving through small groups of zombies on the way. After finally getting to her target, she swiftly changed her tattered clothes into a new outfit.

As she was about to leave, car engines could be heard on the road next to the warehouse. Chu Lixue made her way next to the window, poking her head out trying to see what's going on. In that exact moment, a soldier in one of the cars passing by saw her.

'It's all or nothing', thought Chu Lixue, hoping that they wouldn't know that she's a zombie.

The military convoy stopped, with some soldiers moving towards her.

"Lieutenant! This area looks pretty clean, it should be relatively safe." A young soldier with thick eyebrows and big eyes looked around the warehouse and said anxiously.

"It doesn't matter, we should still observe the surroundings properly!", said the lieutenant. He was a dark-skinned man that looked about thirty years old. His clothes looked dirty, not mentioning the blood stains on them. Clearly, they must have fought about zombies dozens of times already.

As soon as they got inside the warehouse and saw her, some of them held guns towards her and were keeping their eyes vigilant.

"Who are you?!" Zhao Yun watched Chu Lixue, on guard.

"I'm just a survivor. I wanted to look for some resources when I saw the military convoy. I was just wondering if I could follow you."

Zhao Yun glanced at her for a while. Although he thought that she wasn't too threatening, he didn't allow her to approach him. He just said in a cold voice, "If you want to come with us, you will need to move quickly, and contribute to the group. Don't expect to get free food for nothing!"

Chu Lixue quickly agreed. Together with the soldiers they swiftly moved back to the convoy, where she was placed in a truck together with other survivors, from which she got to know their current destination.

Food was slowly getting sparer, while the military still had some saved, they needed to get more resources. Currently they were going to a warehouse of a company, that used to sell canned food. 30 minutes later, after slowly cleaning up the streets from zombies, they have reached their destination.

Chu Lixue, together with some soldiers and other survivors was asked to move the food on to the trucks. Doing the work, the survivors were promised some food and a place to sleep as compensation for helping out. It took them almost an hour to fully load the trucks. While Chu Lixue's body was slowly being tempered by her energy, she was still deadly tired after finishing moving the food, dozing off a little bit on the truck during their way back to the military district.

Fortunately for her, after entering the base they didn't have to move the food out of the trucks. After being taken to a place for new survivors' registration, she was given food stamps, used in the base as money, for the work earlier.

The military district, aside from having a military base, is pretty big by itself. It has quite a number of residential blocks in which military personnel used to live, in one part of it, while in another part, rows of villas in which higher positioned military personnel used to live.

In the last couple of weeks, the army managed to fully clear out the district and slowly began to reinforce it. Thanks to that, Chu Lixue could exchange some of her food coupons for an apartment inside one of the residential blocks. While they don't have a lot of stuff in it, she was pretty lucky as she was assigned an apartment on the last floor, with 3 medium-sized rooms in it.

After getting to her residential block, it took her some time to climb up to the 18th floor. Unfortunately for her, the elevator wasn't working. After going inside her flat, she noticed, that aside from a bed and some empty cabinets, her rooms didn't really have anything inside of them.

Chu Lixue however, was still pretty happy. Later, when more people would get to the base, the price for a place to sleep would rise by a lot. Not even talking about having an 3 rooms apartment for herself...
