Chu Lixue slept very well for the conditions she was placed in. She only began to slowly wake up during the morning, next day. Even through sleeping on the cold floor wasn't the most comfortable, Chu Lixue felt relaxed after waking up.

While it was only a very small distinction, Chu Lixue could tell a difference from the energy that circulated her body, compared to the one before her sleep. It was slowly gathering in her nucleus, not only being combined, but also refined into a purer type of energy. Because of that, her energy was beginning to run much smoother inside her body than before.

"Let's find a place to try out my abilities, shall we?", she said to herself.

Leaving the big hall and slowly going outside, Chu Lixue could feel her eyes stinging a bit. While zombies can gradually adapt and don't need to be scared of light, Chu Lixue however spend most of her time after her transformation inside the hall. It would still take her some time to let her new body get used to sunlight.

While she has been feeling slight energy fluctuations earlier, the moment she stepped on soil outside, she could feel her slight connection with the ground. This partially proved her previous conjunctions true, showing that the dark brown energy within her is most likely affiliated with the Earth element.

Chu Lixue started to concentrate the Earth energy within herself, slowly moving it towards her feet and into the soil. While it took her a lot of her stamina, she slowly managed to move a little bit of dirt with her abilities.

"Yes, I did it!", shouted Chu Lixue, both happy and excited.

Even through it wasn't a big accomplishment, her control over her ability still was bad, but at the very least she managed to confirm that her energy could be used. At this point, she would probably be one of the rare zombies that managed to awaken abilities.

After finding a place that wasn't visible from any major roads or buildings, for the next few hours, Chu Lixue would constantly keep using her ability to move dirt, trying her best to learn how to control it, while avoiding any zombies or even humans that possibly could be near. As it was pretty taxing on her mind, she would also need to have a bit of rest after each use of her ability.

Slowly, as she was getting better at it, Chu Lixue began to use her ability to build small structures. She kept doing it, only stopping when she finally managed to control it enough, to be able to build a defensive wall of dirt in a satisfactory speed.

The sun was already high up in the sky. The stinging feeling, that she previously felt in her eyes, was already gone. While she still couldn't directly stare at sun, moving around wouldn't be problematic for her anymore.

When Chu Lixue finished learning to control her Earth ability, she went back inside the office room in the old hall and took a short nap to regenerate her stamina. After waking up, she once again went outside searching for a suitable place to train her other ability.

Unfortunately, A City's industrial zone doesn't have a big amount of plants. The only place she managed to find that allowed her to try out her ability while not being completely in open space, was a small square with bushes around it.

'Well, you can't have everything...', thought Chu Lixue.

Sitting down and touching the nearest bush, Chu Lixue slowly began to channel the energy within her body into the plants. The reaction she's gotten was different compared to her other ability. While she could move soil with her Earth ability, this time, she couldn't really see any changes to the bush, no matter how much energy she has channeled into it.

Believing that perhaps she has too little control of her ability, Chu Lixue continued to push more energy into the bush. After some time, the plant finally began to change. While she still couldn't control it, but she did notice that it seemed to grow during the time she fed it her energy. While it's not an offensive ability, having the possibility to speed up the growth process of a plant during Apocalypse is already not bad.

After a few more weeks pass by, when all the available food will be slowly used up, the only way for people to survive would be to grow their own food. As far as Chu Lixue noticed, she herself doesn't need to eat. But that doesn't change the fact that food's price will be going up the longer the Apocalypse goes, so her ability at the very least is not completely useless.

Finished thinking about her own abilities, Chu Lixue went back into training how to use her ability. While she could only speed up the growth of plants, she did try to learn to control her energy output better, so that she wouldn't be tired each time after using her ability.

Soon, hours went by as night came and darkness begun to descend. While Chu Lixue believed that zombies would ignore her, as she technically was one of them, she still preferred to go back and stay inside a closed room. Zombies became more active during the night, so before she confirmed that they won't treat her as food, she's not going to try her luck.
