The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao was unable to react as he was embraced by his mother. After five minutes only did his mother loosen her arms and the young boy took a deep breath. He smiled as he looked at his mother and placed his arms around her neck. Then he placed his chin over her shoulder and said, "I missed you, mum."

Yue Ling rested her cheek against his and said in a soft voice, "I missed you too, my love."

Then Yang Dao greeted everyone and suddenly said, "Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, Athena has come over as well. She wanted to meet you all."

Yue Ling was surprised at first but then she smiled and said, "And you left her behind?"

"Why should she meet my mother before me?" said the boy as he hugged her again. Yang Dao did not say much to anyone but he missed the warmth of his mother's embrace. This embrace reminded him of how he met that lady called Feng Yun during the trial.

As the mother and son were talking about things, Yue Yun came over with Athena in tow. The old lady stood at the door and said, "I am back, Young Miss."

Yue Ling stood up and came over to hug the elder and said, "Welcome back Elder Yun."

Then she turned to look at the girl wearing an emerald robe, a smile surfaced on her face. She said, "This must be my daughter-in-law, Athena."

Athena blushed slightly and said, "Auntie." as she bowed.

Yue Ling quickly helped her up and caressed her face gently, she said, "Our Dao is lucky to have you."

Yang Dao furrowed his brows and asked, "Is it not the other way around? Mum, are you going to be like those ladies who forget their son for their daughter-in-law?"

His tone was very resentful, Yue Ling chuckled and said, "Do not worry baby, how can I forget you?" yet all this time she was looking at Athena.

Yang Dao snorted and said, "Then you can have her to yourself. I will take my leave."

Yue Ling was surprised but before she could react, Yang Dao was already gone. She asked, "Elder Yun, what has happened?"

Yue Yun smiled and said, "He is half a step away from Nascent Soul Realm."

Yue Ling could not believe that her son was so terrifying when it came to his talent in cultivation. It has been just a year since he had left home and he already stepped across two major realms. This must be the youngest for anyone to get into the nascent realm.

When Yue Ling was busy thinking about how good her son was, Athena was worried, she could not help but ask in a low voice, "Auntie, did I make a mistake coming over here?"

Yue Ling snapped out of her daze and said, "You think too much child. He is just a bit possessive of me. Do not worry, he will be fine. I know all the tricks." as she smiled and winked at the girl.

Athena saw her acting candidly and relaxed. Yue Ling personally arranged a room next to hers for Athena to stay here. Then she took her on to tour around the mansion. Athena was very curious to see the place where Yang Dao grew up. The ladies of the family were all warm and congratulated Yue Ling to get a bride to be decided upon. Yue Ling smiled and accepted the praises.

Athena was blushing most of the time when the ladies gave her red envelopes. Mulan had left earlier and did not have the chance to meet her. Yue Ling came to stand in front of the room and was about to knock at the door when the door pushed open from the inside. Yue Ling asked, "Mom, where are you going in such a hurry?"

Mulan said, "Ting Ting sent an emergency message, Dao entered the forbidden grounds."

The words made everyone pale in complexion and they chased after Mulan. The Yang Family had a forbidden ground where they locked up cruel criminals they found in their domain. These were all those who were in it for their lives.

After ten minutes, Yue Ling and Mulan arrived at the entrance of the forbidden ground with Athena and Yue Yun. They found Yang Shan and the other elders of the family standing there. Mulan asked, "What happened?"

Yang Shan shook his head and said, "When we came here, he was already inside?"

Mulan turned her gaze at the younger generation and squinted at a boy in golden robes. She asked, "Xiao Jin, what happened here?"

Xiao Jin was not a member of the Yang Family, he was a potential suitor of Yang Ting Ting. When he was faced with the fierce eye of the old lady he could not speak and began to shiver. Suddenly, Yang Ting Ting said, "This disgusting guy was showing off in front of me that he can kill the three criminals inside the forbidden grounds. When I was bored I asked to leave but he did not agree, so Dao intervened and asked him to leave. However, this guy asked him what his qualification was, and said, if Dao could go inside the forbidden ground and take out three heads of the criminals then he will retreat."

Mulan's eyes were like daggers, aimed at the heart of the boy. However, she was not going to kill him, this would break the protocol of an elder to not assault a junior. Just when they were all anxious, Yang Dao walked out of the forbidden area holding three heads of the criminals held in his hand.

The sight shocked everyone, they could not understand, how their family's good treasure turned into a killing machine. Yang Dao spoke, "Here are the three heads of the criminals, now buzz off."

The people heard a chill carried in his voice. They were shocked. They did not expect him to be so indifferent. Xiao Jin was aware that inside the forbidden grounds, the criminals do not have their cultivation sealed, but they were kept inside for the elders of the family to maintain their strength by sparring with them.

However, thought that Yang Dao killed three people inside. He did not want to believe it and said, "You think you can fool me by this? Do you think you can ask an elder of your family inside to help you with this and you can do away with me? I like Yang Ting Ting, I will marry her, or your family shall be prepared to be at war with my family."

Yang Dao raised his eyebrow and asked, "Can you represent your family?"

Xiao Jin raised his head high with arrogance and said, "You think I cannot? You shall wait for the war declaration from my family if you wish to expel me from here."

Yang Dao sighed and said, "Then we will wait for the war declaration. The family has been quiet for a long time. Get lost and be sure to send the war declaration to everyone or I will come and visit your family."

To strong people, words like, I will come to visit you, were a question of reputation. After hearing what Yang Dao said, Xiao Jin was surprised but soon he regained his composure and said, "I will give you two days to think."

That said, the guy left the place. Yang Dao waited for him to go out of the line of sight and after looking around he sighed. The heads in his hand turned into a bunch of apples tied to strings. Everyone was surprised and Mulan asked, "Rabbit what happened?"

Yang Dao shook his head and said, "Simple illusion array to make him leave. However, the family is now in a bind."

Yang Shan shook his head and said, "The Xiao family is not unreasonable."

Yang Dao nodded, "Good, then they will not stop me from taking their domain."

His words shocked everyone and Yang Shan said, "Dao, do not start a war. I can sense that you are very strong now, but you must not let the sense of strength go to your head. The elders will decide what to do. You go and rest."

Yang Dao wanted to say something when Mulan said, "Rabbit, come along."

The dao child gave in and came to the room that was supposed to be a safe one. The guy looked at his mother, Yue Ling, who said, "I will make your favorite food. Do not fret too much over this, okay?"

Yang Dao had no option but to be calm and silent. At night, his mother served him food, all the dishes that he liked, and he relished in food. After dinner, he went to sit down in the serene garden in front of the chess table.

Athena and Yang Ting Ting had become sort of friends and they were walking nearby as well. Athena asked, "I wonder what will happen?"

Yang Ting Ting chuckled and said, "Don't worry, Yang Family is not weak."

Athena caught sight of Yang Dao sitting on a chair and wanted to go over to him when Yang Ting Ting said, "He would go there when he needs some time alone. Don't worry, he will be fine."
