The Powerful Dragon Witch

Winona's POV

I gave Kai the ribbons, and he looked so please, and I hope he can sell it tomorrow in Thesirea capital, and I know many Thesirean girls will buy my design. Kai put it on his satchel. Saying goodbye to Kai was more complicated than I thought because it makes me feel so lonely.

"Hey, Ana, this is also hard for me, and I want to ask you not to go with your parents, but I understand you want to be with them because this is the only time they will allow you to come on a journey with your entire family, don't worry once we settle in the human world, I will take you on vacation. You will love the mundane life of the humans since you are like us, and you will find belongingness, and you don't need to worry about anything else because I will do my best to save and to earn more so we can live together in the human world with happiness." He said as he takes me into his arms, and he kissed me on my forehead.

"Thank you, Kai. I don't want to go with them either, but my father will wonder why I won't go with them, and it breaks my heart to say goodbye to you." I declared.

"Then, don't say goodbye, Ana, because we are going to see each other again. I will be looking forward to the day we will meet again, and always remember I love you." Kai said, and he pulled me up, and he embraced me with his strong arms, and I can say he is not fit to be a human. At one glance, you can tell he can be a Dracousian or Thesirean because of his looks and build.

"I love you too, Kai. Please, you should go now, or else I can't leave this forest." I said, and he kissed me one more time before he let me go from his embrace.

Kai has been long gone, and I was left seated on the ground under the heart leaves. I stand up from the ground with a heavy heart, and I still can smell the masculine scent of Kai. And it made me realized how I miss him already. And when I get out from my hiding place, I am startled to be face to face with giant black panthers, and I think they are so ready to devour my body as they growled at me. And I am happy that Kai is no longer with me because I can't protect myself using my magic in his presence. I will not use my power over them unless they attack me, and instead of charging at me, they slowly kneeled on the ground, and they all bowed down their heads, and I became so confused with what is going on, and suddenly Champ appeared in front of me.

"Greetings! Winona!" He said, and it made me realized the beasts that are surrounding me are his pets.

"Where are the lions, Champ? Why are you bringing panthers this time?" I asked, and I can see the broad smile on his face.

"So, you remember everything, Winona." He said, smiling at me, and gone is his grumpy personality on the first day that we met, and I hate thinking about it, but I acknowledge his power.

"Of course, and why you are so confident that no one will remember you when I can recall everything you did to me, and how can I forget the time you take away my voice," I said, and his laughter reverberated through the entire forest.

"Indeed, you remember me, Winona." He replied, and I can see the amusement on his face.

"I was right, from the first moment I saw you, I can feel that you will be our salvation because I can see the fire of anger in your eyes when I took away your voice, you can't speak, but I saw your outrage towards me on that day, you can counter my power, but I can sense you were afraid to release your true strength, and I know now why because you were scared if someone will know your real identity. I know the Mage and Dragon King are hunting for you, Winona, because you are the only Dragon Witch. And right after you left Dasos palace, you gain allegiance as our king realized someone remembered us from the outside world." He declared.

"The reason I came today is to invite you to our place because our king wants to meet you, Winona." He added, and I am overwhelmed with happiness.

"Did I set you free from your curse?" I asked, and he nodded.

"I am sorry, Champ, I want to meet your king, and to tell you honestly, I am excited to go back to your Kingdom and meet your citizens, and please tell your king I am on my way on a quest of saving my mother from the Dragon world, and this is the only chance I have," I replied, and he nodded.

"Of course, I will tell him everything, and he wants to know if you need help." He said, and I have to analyze the situation first.

"Maybe in the future, I need your help. Do you think you can accommodate my mother the moment I take her out from her prison cell?" I asked, hoping I can bring my mother to a safe place while Kai will build a house in the human world for us.

"Of course, and if you need help about anything, don't hesitate to ask us, Winona. I know you can find the Dasos kingdom because you remember me and our domain." He replied, and Champ said his goodbye, and he turned into a boy before he left, and I still can't believe he is not a boy at all. I walked back to the cave, and I am shocked to find Lizardo, and I can see the worried looked on his face.

"Where have you been, Winona?" He asked, and I felt so guilty that he caught me in the act.

"Hmmm, I am sorry, Lizardo, I meet Champ, the protector of Dasos forest." I said, and I am delighted I meet him on the way home.

"Well, I go home early because we need to leave right now. Our plan has changed because the registration and screening for the tournament will only be until tomorrow. And I guess the Dragon King is so eager to capture you. That is why tomorrow morning, you need to undergo screening. You pretend parents are now on the border waiting for us. Just bring light, you don't need more clothes because I already bought some dresses and it is already in your temporary home in the mountain of Dracousia. And one more thing, from now on, your name will be Ana Bendixmus, and from this day onwards, I will call you Ana so you will be used with your new name. Besides, it sounds like Winona to me." He declared, and I smiled as I remember the pretend name I used in front of Kai. But I will tell my boyfriend everything after I save my mother.

"Go to your room now, Ana. You have to move faster because we need to get inside the gate before the rotation of the guard schedules. Try wearing a fancy dress or gown because Dracousia is always proud of wearing beautiful dresses from fancy fabrics." He said, and I nodded and turned my heels away from him, and I got confused about what I should bring and what items should remain in this place. And I am just glad my familiar advised me only to bring what is essential to me.

I carry my bag as I get out of my room, and I looked around the place, and I can feel the sudden pang on my heart because I have learned to love this place. The cave became my home for seven years, and I can feel the emptiness within my core as I take my steps in going out from our dwelling place.

"Are you ready?" Lizardo asked the moment we reach the entrance of the cave, and we move to the boulders.

"Yes, I am." I said.

"Then, let us test your strength and magic, Ana." He said, and I am a bit stunned by his words.

"What should I do, Lizardo?" I asked.

"I can't turn into my Dragon form because it is too risky because they can quickly know it's me because of my massive wings and the vibrant color of my scales. It would help if you shifted into your dragon form, and I will be riding in your back with Tac, so I can continue to look like an old mage." He declared, and I suddenly felt nervous.

"What if I can't fly long distance yet because since I shited into my dragon form, I haven't flown long period?" I asked, and I can't stop myself from trembling.

"You have to relax, Ana; I understand your concern. That is why you have to do it right now because we can't reach the border on time if we will only walk. After all, it took days, and I can't teleport with you because it is risky. You have to practice teleporting because you need that to demonstrate that you are a natural red dragon. I know your mother taught you a spell on how to teleport, but I suggest you should use your dragon power, Ana." He said, and I don't feel uncomfortable that Lizardo is calling me Ana since Kai has been calling me using that name since the day we met. And I like the sound of it since it makes me feel Kai is just near me and we are not world's apart.

"Give me your bag, Ana." He demands, and I handed him my bag, and I get myself ready to shift, and in one attempt, I stand on the boulder as my wings came out, and I can see the amazement on Lizardo's face.

"Wow! Your color looked vigorous, and it reminds me of the Crown Prince of Dracousia's wings. He has the only one who has this type of red color. Its variation is different from us, and I wonder how your magic changes your golden hue unto this perfect kind of red. This color was declared perfect because of King Alexandrix, and he called his son's color the perfect red. So, you better stick to this color until your last day on the Dracousia Kingdom if you want to leave the palace unharmed." Lizardo added.

"Get in now, Lizardo, Tac, and I want to get over this soon." I said to them, and I can feel him mounted on my back as he carried Tac, and the moment he tapped my back, I soared above the air, and I felt so free for the first time in my life, I am flying above the clouds with happiness on my face.
