The Powerful Dragon Witch

Chapter 22:The Best Two Hours

Winona's POV

I am so excited as I go back to the cave. I know I should feel guilty because I was hiding something significant to Lizardo. I never expect that I will meet someone that I will fall in love with because I was living in a cave, very far away from civilization, and who would anticipate that fate will bring us closer together and having a boyfriend at this time while I am on a mission on saving my mother is not reasonable. Still, I can't resist loving Kai. I know I don't need any destruction because I am close to saving my mother.

"Wow! I can tell someone is in love." Tac said the moment I get inside our dwelling place.

"Yes, and I am thrilled today, Tac, so I think we need to celebrate." I said, and my cat jumps, and I open my palm for her, and I can tell she is getting heavier every day.

"Please, don't tell me you eat fish from the pond today." I said, and Tac wiggled her tail.

"How did you know I experience my first kiss today?" I asked, bewildered.

"Because you were wearing the same looked when your dad kissed your mother. And I can see that your eyes are sparkling with happiness." She responded, and I can't stop myself thinking about Kai, and I spend the rest of the evening making hair bow ribbons, and I love the materials Kai bought for me because it has vibrant colors. And when I heard that Lizardo arrived, I quickly put my finished products on a box and covered my secret container with my blanket. And I grabbed the nearest book I can find, and just on time, Lizardo knocks on my improvised wooden door.

"Are you still awake, Winona?" He inquired.

"Yes, I am still reading, Lizardo." I replied and pretended to scan the books on my lap, and I heard the squeaking of my door indicating he is going inside my room; I know he values my privacy, and he will never get inside my room if I am sleeping.

"It is late, Winona. You better have some sleep because you still need to train tomorrow." He declared, and I nodded my head as I stretched my limbs and yawned.

"See, you are sleepy. Good night, Winona." He said and turned his heels away from me.

"Good night, Lizardo. Do you have any news for me?" I asked, and his strides cease midway, and he turned around to face me again.

"Yes, I do. Are you willing to listen to me now?" He asked.

"Of course, I am eager to learn about the development of my quest of finding my mother.

"I already finalized your entry, and I contacted your dragon shifters family, who is living in the mountain of Dracousia. They lost their child when she was five years old due to an illness, they felt so hurt and devasted, and her wife couldn't accept that she lost her daughter, and she asked her husband not to report her child's death in the registry department." He said.

"So, we need to go there on the following day so you can stay there for the remaining days before the preliminary round, and we need to go to Dracousia on the next day of your arrival in your new home for your screening." He said, and I can't stop my heart from hammering, for I feel so nervous, and I realized I need to say goodbye to Kai before I go to the Dracousia mountains.

"Don't worry, they will meet us at the border of Thesirea and the Dracousia Kingdom, but we need to get inside after the shifting schedule of the guards of the main gate of the Kingdom."He said.

"What time do we need to go on the next day?" I asked.

"We need to set off at first light." He replied, and I nodded. Lizardo left my room and closed my door gently. It made me hard to sleep. Do I need to make some love letters for him? What should I tell Kai? Those questions popped into my head while I keep on turning on my bed until I can't take it anymore. I got up from my bed, and I decided to continue making the ribbons.

It is already past midnight when I felt my eyes feel heavy, and I go back to my bed and sleep. As I dozed off, I can't stop dreaming about my mother calling my name from a distance, and I screamed when I saw the Dragon King spewed fire on my mother's dying body, and I abruptly get up from my bed with a bead of sweats on my forehead.

"Hey, Winona, are you alright?" Tac asked, and she looked upon my face.

"I dreamed about my mom, Tac, she was in the dungeon, and the dragon king was punishing her by firing fires at her. She will be burned alive, Tac. I need to save my mother before it is too late." I declared.

"Of course, while your mother is still there in Dracousia, she can never be safe because the Dragon King will make her life miserable, but I think something is going on in the Dracousia tower, and I don't know why until now the King didn't use her yet to force you to come out." Tac said.

"I don't know what my dreams mean, Tac, but I can't stop myself from worrying." I replied.

"Don't worry, I know your mother is safe because I can always connect with her; I can feel it if she is suffering; for now, she is still good." She said, and I looked at her in the eyes.

"Why do you think I dream about my mother, Tac." I asked.

"I think it wasn't a dream at all, you had a vision, and you are right, Winona, your mother needs you, we don't know when it will happen, but at least you were giving a heads up." She responded, and I couldn't help myself from feeling so worried.

"Do you mean I have the same ability as my mother?" I asked.

"Yes, there is a high possibility because your mother started having a vision at your age, and she tried using her power to control it. Still, there are moments she wants to foresee something only when she thinks necessary." Tac responded, and I can now relate to why my mom doesn't want to have this kind of power.

"It is terrible to have this kind of gift, I can feel the pain my mom was going through, and it felt so real to me, and I hate to know that the Dragon King is planning to harm my mother." I declared.

"I understand what you mean, Winona; you better go back to sleep now because you need to train fast, so you have time to say goodbye to your boyfriend." Tac said.

"Of course, I can't leave Dasos forest without saying goodbye to him." I replied, and I struggle to go back to sleep.

By the time I finished having my training with Lizardo, I had gone back to my room and pretended to read the books he had given me, and I tried using some of the spells my mom taught me. Then Lizardo informed me he would go to Thesirea to sell our remaining herbs and inform his family about our plans. I get out of the cave immediately when Tac informed me that Lizardo is no longer around.

I was tempted to climb the tree and have some rest on the trunks, and I didn't realize I fell asleep until I felt Kai's warm hands touching me, and he carried me to the ground. The moment Kai started kissing me, I forgot about my plan of telling him that I will be going away. His lips taste so sweet, and I love the way he makes me feel, and the way his tongue played my mouth made me moan softly. He is kissing me with urgency, and I like how he fondled my breast with his hands, and when she dragged my dress down, I felt ashamed that he could see my naked breasts, and I know my face blushed. I quickly pulled my dress up.

"I am sorry, Ana, I am carried away; I know I should not do that unless you want me to." Kai said, and I can see the worries on his face, and I caressed his handsome face, and I smiled at him shyly.

"I am just new to all this, Kai, but I like how you make me feel, and I love it, I want to get intimate with you, and you were right; I need to get ready, and I am sorry if I stopped you, and I hope I didn't upset you." I said, and the truth is, I don't want him to stop, but I am afraid if something happens to us, I will get pregnant, and I can't risk it because I can't compete if I am pregnant, the judges will know.

"Hey, I am not upset. Even though I am dying to have you, I can wait, Ana." Kai responded, and I can tell he meant what he said.

"Thank you, would it be alright if we do it by the time you will come back from your work? I mean, you will be gone for six months to one year, and I want to be with you after something happens between us intimately." I declared, and he grinned.

"Me too, Ana; I like that because I know if I have you now, I will lose my courage to be far away from you." He said, and he embraces me tightly.

"Kai, there is something I need to tell you." I said, and I can feel the sadness in my heart.

"What it is, Ana?" Kai asked.

"My parents will go on a trip to our relatives living in the mountain of Thesirea, and they want to bring me, and I know it was because we are going on a mountain trip, and no one will see me except my family." I said another lie to Kai.

"And we are living tomorrow." I added and I can see that his face fell.

"Oh, Ana, so this means we only have two hours left to be with each other?" He asked, and I nodded. I can see the sorrow on Kai's face.

"Then we will make this the best two hours of our lives." He said, and he settled himself on the ground, and he asked me to lay my body on the bed of leaves while I put my head on his lap. It feels so wonderful that I am with Kai, and I can't imagine the coming months of my life without seeing him.
