After watching Sean and his companions leave the Town Hall, Jaina held her staff and lowered her head as she mumbled, “Medivh’s student? Is this real? Is he helping us?”

“Jaina.”

Aegwynn called out to her and shook her head. “Medivh disappeared after the Battle of Mount Hyjal, and nobody knows where he went. He has already completed his mission for the world, so unless he’s willing, he no longer has anything to do with this world. Believe it or not, I can’t even find him.”

Jaina respected Aegwynn greatly, so she was rather dispirited after hearing her words. She sighed before asking, “Was the Half-Elf Mage lying? Since he’s not Medivh’s student, his words must be fake?”

Aegwynn shook her head again. “That’s not necessarily the case. Medivh isn’t the only one who understands Azeroth’s timeline very well, there’s also the Bronze Dragonflight who are in charge of safeguarding the timeline. In terms of predicting calamities in this world, they’re actually more dependable than Medivh.”

Jaina furrowed her eyebrows when she heard that, and she questioned, “Do you think that the Half-eElf Mage is connected to the Bronze Dragonflight? If that’s the case, what exactly is the Bronze Dragonflight’s goal? What’s their standpoint?”

Aegwynn shook her head once more. “Perhaps he’s related to the Bronze Dragonflight, perhaps he’s related to the Infinite Dragonflight, or perhaps he’s related to other creatures. The universe is vast, filled with countless stars and creatures, who can actually know about everything? Even the Titans can’t. None of that is important, the important thing is, what do you think, Jaina?”

Seeing as Jaina was pondering with her head lowered, Aegwynn advised, “Ever since your father, Daelin, died, you made the choice to be the link between the Horde and the Alliance, and to maintain peace even if others reproach you. In that case, you should know very well that Varian’s safety is more important than your father’s safety back then, and that it has a higher chance of changing the world’s structure.”

Jaina was not the young and naive teen that she used to be. She was presently the Ruler of Theramore, and she bore a huge responsibility. Needless to say, she knew that if Varian could not return to Stormwind City, not only would the city face destruction, but the fragile peace between the Alliance and the Horde would instantly crumble. If that happened, Theramore would once again become the public’s target for criticism. Could she still remain as the bridge between the Horde and the Alliance?

Definitely not.

Therefore, Jaina knew what she should do without having to think about it.

“But who knows where King Varian is now? How can we find him? Can you not see through this?” Jaina looked at the female High Elf.

The female High Elf smiled plainly. “I don’t know the timeline very well, and I’m not adept in prophecy spells. Besides, I’ve lost almost all of my Mana, so I’m not even as good as you. How would I know where Varian is? But someone probably knows.”

Jaina responded, “Are you saying… That Half-Elf Mage?”

Aegwynn nodded. “Since he knows many hidden secrets, it makes sense that he actually knows more.”

Jaina immediately made a decision. “I’ll summon him tomorrow morning to ask if he knows King Varian’s whereabouts. Is there really a Dark Magic in this world that can split a person into half? Not a mirror image, not an illusion, but a person who’s really split into two?”

Aegwynn replied, “The world is huge, so nothing’s too strange. The Dragons have been Azeroth’s guardians since ancient times, so they know more about this world than we do, and they understand the Arcane and Darkness very well. In particular, ever since Neltharion, Leader of Black Dragonflight, became Deathwing due to corruption, the Black Dragonflight’s research in Dark Magic has exceeded everyone’s expectations. It’s not impossible that a Dark Magic that could be used to split someone into two was researched.”

Jaina was anxious. “What can we do? We must find the two King Varians and merge them together, there can’t be two Kings of Stormwind in this world!”

Aegwynn smiled gently. “Why not? The brave Varian pursues his dream as a Warrior while the meek Varian remains as the king, isn’t that great? Okay, don’t worry, there must be a way. Let me think, let me think.”

Jaina trusted Aegwynn deeply, so she believed that Aegwynn would certainly find a way if she tried hard enough. After all, Aegwynn was one of the most powerful Mages in this world.

“I’d like to confirm if the Lady of the Black Dragonflight is actually causing chaos in Stormwind City. Bolvar mentioned in the letter that her lair is in a cave located in the south of Dustwallow Marsh. I’ll go check it now, and I’m sure that I’ll find out before tomorrow morning,” Jaina informed.

“Be careful, the Lady of the Black Dragonflight is a legendary creature, after all, so you won’t be her match if you’re on your own. I’ll start thinking about how to merge Varian’s bodies.” Aegwynn nodded.

The two women, who played decisive roles in Azeroth, began their tasks after a simple conversation. A clear and melodious voice was heard, then a strong Gryphon carried Lady Jaina to the Wrymbog in the south of Dustwallow Marsh.

It was a peaceful night.

The next morning, Sean and the others were summoned by Jaina.

In the Town Hall, Jaina had a poor complexion and her eyes looked weary, which made Sean suspect that she had been up to something yesterday night.

Aegwynn, who was standing beside her, did not look so good either.

“Lady Jaina, are you alright?” Sean asked softly after motioning a standard Mage’s salute.

Jaina waved her hand. “Sean, I’m fine. I made a trip to the Wrymbog last night and found the lair, there are plenty of Black whelps and drakes, but Onyxia wasn’t there. You’re right, Onyxia hasn’t been honest.”

Sean’s eyes lit up.

‘Jaina went to the Wrymbog last night? She probably believes me now, right? But since Aegwynn’s around, she probably saw through my little trick of pretending to be Medivh’s student, right?’ Sean wondered because he knew from Aegwynn’s look yesterday that she definitely saw through him.

However, neither Aegwynn nor Jaina exposed him… Why?

Sean could not figure it out.

Therefore, he did not know what to say, and only stood quietly while waiting for Jaina to ask him questions.

Before long, Jaina sighed and asked, “Sean, where’s King Varian now? You said that he was split into two by Dark Magic, what happened after that? What happened to his body? Why didn’t he return to Stormwind City? Did something happen to him?”
