Chapter 54: Who Is the Cunning Bitch?

Jiang Yining was slightly stunned. Then, she said, “I don’t understand what you are trying to say.”

“It’s fine that you say that you don’t understand me as long as you understand what I was trying to say in your heart.” Tang Li smirked. “You have asked Yuan Jing to spread her photo online to embarrass her, haven’t you? Why did you tease her like that given that she could no longer act as Hermia. So that you would get her role?”

Jiang Yining was nervous when all her little schemes were at risk of being exposed. But, she still forced herself to remain calm. “I don’t know Yuan Jing. I prohibit you from tearing our friendship apart.”

“You have a deep friendship. It should be able to withstand challenges.”

Jiang Yining remained quiet. She felt that something bad was about to happen.

She wanted to say something else to save herself from falling into Tang Li’s trap. But, Tang Li managed to turn around to say something to Yu Sui first. “Why don’t you check her phone to see if she knows Yuan Jiang? You always lend her your phone. By now, you should know the password of her phone right?”

Yu Sui’s face darkened.

It was because she realized now that she did not know the password to Jiang Yining’s phone.

Moreover, Jiang Yining had never lent Yu Sui her phone.

Tang Li spoke again. “Regarding the incident when Yu Sui’s pants were torn, we didn’t attend the lecture with the students from the directing course. The photograph that Yuan Jing has uploaded on the website showed that it was taken from the back. Yining, you sat at the back in that class. Did you notice anything else?”

“I…” Jiang Yining opened her mouth.

She wanted to explain herself but she could not find any valid reason.

She never thought that Tang Li would strike back when she was wronged. To her, Tang Li was just a withdrawn coward.

“Last semester, I saw you on a date with Yuan Jing at the little grove when I was on my way back from the library. But, I didn’t call you out for fear that you’d be shy.” Tang Li paused before she continued, “You came back to the hostel half an hour later than I did. But, your legs were covered in mosquito bites. It was Yu Sui who had lent you the mosquito repellent.”

Yu Sui was a reckless and ruthless girl. However, she was not an idiot. She would surely be a simpleton if she did not realize that something was wrong after what Tang Li had said.

“Give me your phone.” She stretched her hand out at Jiang Yining.

“I didn’t bring my phone with me.” Jiang Yining tried to change the subject. “Suisui, it’s Teacher Meng who has asked me to take up the role as Hermia. I knew nothing about it before that. If you have any doubt, we can call Teacher Meng now. If you don’t like me acting as Hermia, I’ll reject the role.”

Yu Sui focused on Jiang Yining who was desperately trying to explain herself now. But, she did not tell Jiang Yining that she did not trust her anymore. All she could think about now was what Tang Li had said just now.

Jiang Yining knew Yuan Jing. They might be a couple.

When she was humiliated in the class, Yuan Jing was not around.

The angle of the photograph was from behind her and it was close to where Jiang Ning was back then.

When she was at the police station yesterday, the police had told her something. He said that the account that had posted nasty comments about Tang Li was registered using her phone number. So, she would surely receive a verification message when she registered for the account.

In fact, she knew nothing about it.

When Tang Li was condemned online, she had never thought of plotting something on her own. She just enjoyed watching the scene as a bystander.

There were only her and Jiang Yining living at the hostel now.

Yu Sui clenched her fists tightly. The truth was glaring at her now. Who knew her phone’s password? Who had had the chance to use her phone?

She could not take up the role of Hermia because of the rumors. In the end, Jiang Yining had gotten the role.

Tang Li did not get it.

What was more ironic was that she had felt that she was lucky.

If she could not have acted as Hermia, Yining would have been there to take her place. How could she have allowed that cunning bitch, Tang Li, to succeed in her scheme?
