Reincarnation of the Cheater

As Silvia and Elaine finish packing all of our tents and supplies as we get back onto the road.

"What happened to the body?" I ask looking around before we leave the area.

"Ahh. You probably wouldn't guess it but his body disintegrated as soon as it was touched. Edward tried to search him to see if he can get some other kind of evidence for our report but as soon as he grabbed the corpse it started releasing smoke. After it disintegrated a green gem was in its place as what was left. The gem itself was radiating light but when I grabbed it the radiating light stopped so I just put it in my bag for the report." Silvia says as she explains with a confused face as she pulls out the gem from her bag.

"It looks nice. Do you mind if I hold it?" I ask wanting to inspect the gem.

"Sure, just make sure to be careful with it and don't drop it. The gem seems like it might hold something interesting." she says as she hands the gem over to me with a cloth under it.

Upon grabbing the cloth that is holding the gem I pull it over to me and apply 'clean' to myself before I touch it so I don't get it dirty.

As I give the okay a white light radiates from the gem and it sinks into my body.

[Celestial Crystal Absorbed]

As the gem sinks into my body, a warm feeling spreads throughout my body as I feel some slight movement from my physique. My body becomes slightly more tone, my height increases slightly, my back is attacked with pain as it feels as if something is sprouting.

[Processing... Adjusting physique...Done]

As the notification goes off in my head the pain subsides and my mind becomes clear. Looking around everyone is looking at me with their hands on their weapons.

"What? Is there something wrong with me? Why are you staring at me like that?" I say trying to respond to their terrified faces as they loosen up at my question.

"There is nothing wrong, after you touched the gem it radiated a white light and it was absorbed into you, we thought you would end up like the other guy and become corrupted so we prepared for the worst." Silvia says as she returns her bow to her back and calms down.

"Ah, that makes sense." I say looking around at everyone. They all had a hand on a weapon at least but when I look at Elaine and Rose their just staring at me.

"Hey, is there something on my face?" I ask curiously.

"Did you grow taller?" Rose says as she starts circling me and looking at me from top to bottom.

"I don't know, it felt like my body changed when I grabbed the gem. I wasn't expecting the gem to do that. Should I have not touched it with my bare hands?" I say answering Roses' question and then asking Silvia about the gem.

"Haa... It just means more paperwork, you seem fine but get checked out at the guild hospital anyways. I'm sure your body changing will have some side effects." Silvia says as she puts her hand on her forehead and sighs.

"I see the front gates. There seems to be something occurring at the gate, the guards look distraught by a group of people. " Elaine says from the front.

"Alright let's help out the guards, those people seem to be trying to cause a problem." Silvia says as she rushes over to help them.

Rushing through the crowd of people who are crowding the troublemakers we reach the guards and Silvia start to talk.

"Mark, are these guys causing any problems for you?" Silvia asks as she checks out the troublemakers.

"They refuse to hand over any identification, refuse to go to the adventurer's guild, and refuse to leave. Now they're causing a scene because we won't let them in." the guard says as he sighs while looking at the group.

"I'll try to help to the best of my abilities." Silvia says as she turns to the group.

"Why are you here?" She asks.

One of the men look at Silvia and starts to talk.

"We come from the country 'Clearfield' and wish to stock up on supplies here since we are nearly out." Says the burly man.

"The guards gave you the conditions to be able to enter the city if you don't wish to follow them please leave." Silvia says in a firm tone.

"Ma'am we need to stock up on supplies or else we won't make it to the next city. We don't have identification and I don't wish to sign up as an adventurer in another country. Is there another choice we can make." the burly man asks.

"Bell come here." Silvia says as she looks towards me.

"Is there a reason you called?" I ask.

"What do you feel about these people?" She asks while keeping an eye on me.

'She must have called me because she noticed something.'

Looking at the burly men I decide to use appraisal on the one who talked to Silvia.
