Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate

However, he quickly regained back his senses and silently gave work to his brain, understanding the depth of her words. He didn't speak any further, just stood there holding her.

He wondered, if Aeinshia was always like that. She seemed pretty light hearted earlier. And, suddenly her demeanor changed. Her eyes held something that he couldn't figure out. Sadness, hurt and something more deep. 

He wasn't able to decipher as the look seemed to disappear, after the dialogue ended. He wanted to ask, but he felt, it was not the right time. Something was restraining him to ask the question. 

And, he wasn't going to give up what his first resolve is. Not to hurt Aeinshia or make her uncomfortable in any way. She waited and gave him time and space and it only made sense, if he did the same thing. 

He decided to leave the fact and observed Aeinshia. She seemed to be tensed up than earlier, but not too closed off, like a while ago, when she spoke those words. 

He hesitantly, extended his hand towards her. He didn't know if this was right or if Aeinshia would pick anything wrong from this since she didn't seem to be in good mood a little while ago, but he decided to go with his gut. She needed comfort and he somehow understood that. 

So, he hesitantly extended to her hand and tightly, held it. Aeinshia was startled by this, but didn't push his hand away. Evan was glad and saw a beautiful blush bloom on her milky cheeks. He smiled and she returned it with a shy smile of her own. 

Comfort slipping from both of their hands and travel in to each other's body. Sometimes, all is needed is a silent understanding than a loud explaining. 

While both of them enjoying their own world, they forgot about the extra person they bought along with them.

Yes, it is our little princess Lucia, who is still waiting for them to come back and take her near the lake. If it's not because the banks were so dampened, then she would have not really waited for someone to take her there and needed someone to watch over her.

She was brave enough to take care of herself. She could do the basic fighting.

'I'm strong. Father taught me to fight and I even took him down.' She pouted at the lack of action from her. She wanted to go to the banks and see the boat float, like she did earlier with her father and siblings.

However, at the end, that's not the case. With her overflowing long dress, it would be so difficult for her to even walk normally or speedily, so how in the world could she walk to and fro along that dampened area?

Deciding it's not safe for her to go near the banks without any elder having their eyes on her, she gave up her idea on going alone. Giving in, she waited and waited for her sister Aeinshia and brother Evan to come back.

Lucia aimlessly surveyed her surroundings, thinking she could find anyone she knew before. Well, it's already past the time anyone would come to make wishes near cosmos lake. So it's really rare to find the place filled with many people around here at this time of the festival, as most of them would be already on their way to reach their homes or would be busy roaming along the beautiful night streets. So she kept her expectations low, but to give her hope, she saw someone's familiar back near the lake.

Just as she thought, there is indeed someone just like her, who is aimlessly passing the time around. She could only see his back. His eyesight looking far far away, across the cosmos lake, to the high sky and flicking to the beautiful horizon, as if he wish he could hold those bright shining stars in the sky in his hands.

Lucia heaved a sigh of relief, as she will soon get rid of her boredom, while her foot made it's way to Felix Rutz, who seemed he couldn't care much about his surroundings anymore.

Just when she is almost seven more steps away from him, he turned around to face Little princess Lucia.

Felix got engrossed in his thoughts, letting his guard down. Well, today is really not necessary to alert all his senses for any potential danger, as the whole capital is filled with empires guards and tightly monitored every minute. So for this once, he let down all his worries and solely thought about himself and his dreams.

Just in time, when he is about to go back to Aeinshia and others, he heard small light foot steps coming his way. They were so light that, it would be almost unnoticeable if his senses were not in extreme level of sensing dangers.

Felix's senses were exceptionally good. Even when he is not on his guard. They were his birth gift. But, they were on another level, when he was alert. He was deadly when in the battle field. Too sad, that he doesn't encourage field fights much. But, that doesn't mean he can't. He was on par with the Prince. 

He thought someone was trying to attack, as the steps were light. However, he also knew, no one is daring enough to attack him in the middle of the capital, when their chances of escaping alive is less than 0.1 percent. More over there were almost no chance of the attacker to survive, if he made an attack of his own. 

So it must be someone he knew. He turned his head, little Lucia greeted him, her head hung low, her whole self concentrating on the count of her steps as she made her way to him, not at all having bet guard open. 

Wont't it be better if she held her line of sight up and walked, instead of concentrating on her footing? Does She believe She is safe when I am near her periphery? A sense of accomplishment took him in, as he thought it. 

She looked like a fluffy doll to him. Neatly dressed, acting cute and her messed up hair. Everything seemed cute and adorable about her, placing a smile on his face unknowingly to him.

When she is two more steps away from him, she peered her head up, to glance at him. To her surprise, he is already looking at her with a smile on his face.

Oops~ I want to scare him with my sudden presence, but looks like I already got caught by him. He is no fun at all like always, and everytime having a serious expression whenever I see him. Of course, today he greeted me with a different expression, but that's not the main point here. My steps were as light as feather, yet he sensed them. Is he hiding his skills? But why? I never saw him weild a sword at the Royal grounds, not like I visited the training session daily. Nevertheless, I could say, he isn't only a man of brains, he must have got few other skills. I need to find out what is it he is hiding.

Lucia pouted while involved in her own thoughts. Even then, Felix didn't speak anything and simply glanced at this petite weak body who seemed very delicate on the outside. To be precise, this is his third or so time of him meeting her and this is the first time he ever spoke to her and spent time together.

All other times were coincidental meetings, where both acted like they didn't knew each other. So he too didn't involve himself on taking initiative to talk to her.

Collecting back her thoughts, she finally spoke, " Brother Felix, is this the work you got to do, which made you rush like there's no time anymore left? "

She factly pointed it out, since she remembered, her sister Aeinshia got something to tell to him, and even before hearing her out, he ran away, before Aeinshia completed her sentence, making her disappointed. Resulting, Lucia to be disappointed.

Phew~ Felix sighed. It's not like he could explain elders matters to this little girl and even if he explained, he need to be careful about his words and should make it clear to her, without any misunderstandings.

So simply feign ignorant, he spoke, " Little Princess Lucia. I indeed got a very important work at my hands that time. See, it is very important for a human to enjoy themself, and get along with the nature. Look at this beautiful night and the lake and sky. I will help us reduce stress and refreshes us and sort our thoughts. So it is must that we spend sometime with fresh air and ourselves, " He spoke diligently, like an elder teaching to his juniors, trying to change the topic.

Well, he was already used to teaching Aeinshia about things, that whenever soemone asks something, he gets into his teaching mode. 

Lucia clicked her tongue, folding her hand in hand near her chest, she spoke, " Tsk~ brother felix, don't you know, it's not good lying to children. Is that what you were trying to teach me? " She asked directly.

Phew~ he again sighed, but this time it is because he is losing his cool to a kid. Normal kids in her age are easy to deceive or get them easily divert their attention. But this little girl in front of his eyes, even though he did it, she isn't ready to leave the topic alone.

Well, what can he refuse about it. The little girl was practically raised by his uncle Alexander. And, he was sure, he must have taught many things to her. He, himself was a student of his uncle and his senses heightened with his help. He still find it surprised, that his uncle didn't teach them to Evan or Aeinshia, who were most important to him and the empire.

Kneeling on one leg, he bent down, getting almost on her eye sight level to talk to her, making her comfortable, " Little Princess Lucia, whatever I told before is indeed true. One should spend time with nature and indulge in their thoughts. However, you are indeed clever. The situation before didn't need my presence. So I could only go away. All I did is for your and my sister Aeinshia's good sake,"

He finally added Aeinshia's name, knowing how much she is attached to Aeinshia and knew Aeinshia held a high place in her heart, maybe in an comparable range to her birth mother. That's how much Aeinshia mattered to little Lucia. He knew, this little girl in front of his eyes simply loves his sister alot and cares for her alot.

Listening to his words, her pout deepened, " But brother Felix, how come your presence have bad effect on sister Aeinshia? " She asked innocently, her puppy eyes curious to know the answer he would say to her, as her big bright eyes landed on him.
