Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate

104 Chapter 104. Ignorance is forgiven, but one shouldn't entertain it - 1

All that was going in his head was the comparison of this maid's face with a familiar face in his memory.

They were absolutely similar. Everything was same about the both faces. The only thing that was different were their eyes. Otherwise, their face structure, even their eyebrows were similar, that it was very scary to even think about the mere existence of another person like that woman. If it isn't because he knew that the woman died, then he would have thought she is still alive and working right under his nose, inside the palace.

But, who is this maid, who is the exact splitting image of that woman?

He couldn't react. He need to find answers to those unending questions running in his mind.

"Forgive me, your great highness!" The woman's wails brought him back to the reality and he blinked twice to clear the blur before his eyes.

"You are forgiven." He said in clipped tone. He didn't want to be there. He didn't want to see that face again. He can't handle that.

The woman looked surprised and she bowed again. "Thank you, your highness. Nothing can be compared to your kindness." The woman said, her head still in bowing position and he can't see her face anymore.

But, somehow Alexander felt that the last sentence she said, seemed to be forced and was said through gritted teeth. But, a realization that stuck to him, made him dismiss that thought.

Their voice was same too. A perfect mixture of rough and sweetness. His mind began to spin again. He wanted to get away from here.

He looked away from her when he realized tears were well in his eyes and he nodded, rushed to his room. He didn't even try to bother the rush that was seen in his steps. He didn't care about that. All he knows is to get away from there.

The woman stood up and bowed again to the fast receding figure. "Be well, your highness." She raised her head after finishing the sentence.

She stared ahead with an emotionless face and eyes. A sinister smirk making its way slowly onto her lips. "Cause good days are over now." She said and turned to go to her work.

Her words thickly hanging in the air, unheard by everyone expect the grand Palace walls.

Alexander was almost running to his chambers. His mind only chanting one thing "Impossible."

His breathing was harsh and tears were at the brink of falling out of his eyes now. "This can't be possible!" He screamed in his head. But, no one would listen to him.

No one would ever listen to what he says, except one. And, that one was taken away from him long ago. He coped up with everything till now. But, now that he seen his biggest and worst fear, he seemed to be falling apart.

His love was there when this all happened and he got up and fought. Now no one was there and the nightmare showed up suddenly out of nowhere and he went weak just by its sight.

Alexander just stood there in the middle of his cold room and stared into nothingness.

All the memories of what he went, what he was put through, what he fought for, were playing his mind. And, the familiar face seemed to be in the center of all of it.

He shook his head to get rid of the thoughts, but it didn't work. He picked up something from his desk and threw it across the room. His anger and fear were still growing.

He closed his eyes shut, but his brain decided to paly the scenarios  clearly, that made him feel like he is loosing his mind. He took a deep breath and exhaled out. He repeats this technique for about ten times and his breathing seemed to return back to normal. But, his chest still felt like it was carrying some heavy weight on it.

'How is this even possible? I'm sure it was not the case. Even, it was like that, I would have known about it, right? Yes, that's right. I would know. But, firstly I have to know about that girl. I can't just be going around assuming things. This time I have to be careful and I will be careful of my actions. No one, no one would be able to manipulate me. I won't be there anymore and I wouldn't let my children to be in that position and won't let anyone to break my family. '

Alexander vowed those words in his head with a determined look on his face. He was not the Alexander that once was. He came a long way ahead and he wouldn't go back there. Never ever.

He went to his balcony which overlooked the garden planted by his love. The breeze that comes touching those flowers seem to carry essence in it. He missed her. Everyday for all these years. She was there to collect his pieces when he was broken and made him see a new version of himself. But now, a threat came his way. Well, a possible threat. A type of threat that won't only destroy and break, but also his family. And, he wasn't going to have that.

"My love, you are always with your Alex, right?" He spoke to the void, hoping that he would be heard by his love somewhere in the afterlife. A gentle breeze brushed from his hair and he smiled while closing his eyes. "I love you, my dear." He breathed out.

The strength that seemed to leave him when he had those memories back, was now restoring back. He just closed his eyes and just concentrated on his energy and thoughts in his mind.

Alexander remembered something and groaned in annoyance. "Why can't I just rest?" He muttered out irritatedly and sighed after that.

It is inevitable and he can't change that, so he has to go along with it.

" Duties, my darling. I've to leave. But, I'll get to the depth about it. The love and strength you gave me will forever prevail in me, till I reunite with you up there. Till then, enjoy your peace in your afterlife." He chuckled to himself on those words and turned around to go into his room.

He almost went in, but stopped and turned around, "I miss you" he smiled sadly towards the sky and went on his way into his room.

He went to his desk collected some papers from his desk and quickly made a review of them. When he was finally convinced, he went in front of the mirror and straightened up royal robes and hair. After he was done with fixing his appearance, he was ready to go to the meeting room as an Emperor, gaining his all composure back.

...

At capital streets, near cosmos lake:

" Aeinshia, wh... What are you talking. Don't joke around. I know you got huge sense of humor, but this is not at all in any way funny, kekk~" She gave a forceful chuckle, trying to slide away from the topic, feeling embarrassed at such question.

Even though she acted courteously on outside, she cursed Aeinshia to hers heart content inside.

Aeinshia smiled back again, however that sweet smile of her didn't last long before turning into an cold expression, droopy few degrees around her, " Do I in anyway look like joking? Lady .???? " Aeinshia stared at her questioningly, her serious look sending chills down Sarah's spine.

This time Sarah didn't got any way to get out of this awkwardness. She is very actively showing off herself in front of her cousin Hal just before a minute, but now the whole situation turned around. Sarah is still dumbfounded, while others too weren't showing any different reaction from her. More or less, they too became statues, still fretting, and all because of Aeinshia. Aeinshia is out of her character today. She got 180 degrees spin in her character. So how should Sarah approach Aeinshia now?

Chuckling awkwardly, " Aeinshia, are you angry with me. If yes, then be straight about it instead of speaking in a roundabout manner. I know, anything can be resolved between us. You just have to say what displeased you and we can work on it, " Sarah spoke, bootlicking Aeinshia, trying to play the victim card, who had zero idea about the situation and it is Aeinshia who is acting unreasonably with her.

Aeinshia smiled harmlessly. At this point, she couldn't help but be hard on them.

How can she stay still, witnessing their ignorant behavior even at this stage? She need to show who held power?
