Reborn princess: I will change my ill-fate

101 Chapter 101. Brothers and sisters together

The royals all wore smiles and were observing the crowd. While Alexander was busy discussing something with the Duke Everett and General Charles.

Soon, he turned around to face the crowd and a loud trumpet was blown again, indicating silence is expected from the citizens.

Alexander again cleared his throat and stood at the previous place that he was addressing the people, " As according to our tradition, now we will proceed to Lake Cosmos to begin the festival officially, " Alexander declared, made his way to the lake.

The crowd  cheered loudly and they saw the royals turning around from the stage, so tjat they could go towards the lake. The crowd would be watching from afar while the Emperor and the Queen would be the first one's to release the boats into the lake and then would be followed by all others.

The Emperor and the Queen would release the boat in a secluded area to prevent any kind of disturbance to them.

Alexander reached the secluded area, which was on the far left of the Lake Cosmos. The boat with the Seazle empire symbol will be released with a small torch inside it  and it would float around the Lake for the whole night. When the Emperor finally leaves the venue, the citizens are allowed to releaase their own boats.

All the royals were standing according to their ranking, while Alexander with his Queen Clara standing in the front. The guards surrounding them and keeping a keen eye on the surroundings.

A big white and beautiful boat was handed to Alexander by one of the guards and he opened the folded boat and there was a small lamp like structure in the middle for the light.

A small matchbox was handed to the Emperor, but he gave it to Queen Clara, who looked up to his face, in a bit confusion.

"You seem to have forgotten the tradition, my queen." Alexander smiled at her and the queen replied with a shy smile.

She wordlessly took the matchbox in hand and Alexander proceeded to lift the small lamp thing's cover. It revealed a small container filled with oil and Queen Clara, lit up the matchstick and lit the torch inside the boat.

Once the flake was visible, Alexander covered it and tried to seal it tightly, so that the flame wouldn't blow off even when it is surrounded by heavy winds and would continue for the whole night.

He then, proceeded to put the boat on the surface of water, when he noticed silent squeals and giggles. He turned his face to see the princesses and the young prince watching the boat with wide and amazed eyes.

He sighed and motioned for his young children to come forward. The younger siblings let out a squeal and ran towards their father and set their big and sparkling eyes on the shiny, white boat.

Princess Lucia came behind them.

"Sister Lucia! Isn't this beautiful?" Princess Alicia exclaimed with awe clear in her voice.

"Look! There is the flame!" This time Prince Julias amazedly pointed out towards the small lamp which is present in the boat to his older sisters.

"This so beautiful" Princess Lucia, lastly commented and all the siblings proceeded to squeal some more on the said boat.

Alexander watched them with big smile and decided on something. "How about you all put the boat into the lake?" He asked them with soft voice, while his hand petted Alicia's hair, lovingly.

The children stopped their sounds and looked up to their father with big and wide eyes.

"Can we really do that?" Lucia asked, after a moment.

Alexander smiled and nodded. "Of course, you can. You all are my children, you have the right." He said with a big smile and saw the smiles that were spreading on the little ones faces.

"Yes!"

"We would!"

"Thank you, Father!"

All three of them, exclaimed in unison, though their words were different.

The people who were surrounding them also, smiled fondly at the three young royal's adorable antics.

Evan smiled bitterly. He wished he had that memories with his father. He had some, but they were all fussy now, as they happened when he was around five or six.

But, nevertheless he was happy to know at least his little siblings got the happiness they deserved as children. They might be from different mothers, but they all shared the same father and there is an unique charm among them all.

Alexander carefully handed them the boat. Princess Lucia, Princess Alicia and Prince Julias held it in the middle, while he tried to hold it too, so that they won't upturn it before they leave it and worrying about them is also a reason for him to tag along with them.

They slowly began to walk to the bank of the Lake, when Alexander halted and turned around to look at Evan. He saw Evan looking at his siblings with a smile. His lips maybe smiling, but his eyes showed what he was really feeling.

Guilt and sadness were breaking his heart, but he decided to be close to his oldest and reached for him, "Evan, come forward." He spoke out and Evan snapped his head in the direction of his father.

He raised his eyebrows with wide eyes. He was confused. Alexander just smiled and motioned his head towards the boat. Evan just stood there dumbfounded.

He moved his eyes to look at the boat and he encountered the eyes of his young siblings. They were eagerly waiting to release the boat and see it float. Then, he moved his eyes to gaze at his father and found him smiling a bit sadly and pleadingly.

Tears welled up in his eyes and he moved forward. He stopped when he was beside Princess Lucia, who was looking at his with a big grin, show in her teeth to him.

"Brother Evan, hold it!" She exclaimed and moved her hand, so that he could hold the other end. "Yes, yes, hold it, brother!" Shouted Prince Julias.

"Make it fast, brother Evan." Princess Alicia whined impatiently and bounced in her place. A big grin made its way onto Evan's lips and he held the othet end that Lucia moved her hand from.

Now, all the siblings were just grinning at each other.

Alexander almost cried. He was very close to break in down into tears when he saw all his children, oldest to youngest happily smiling at each other. He was bit afraid that Evan wouldn't have a positive reaction towards his siblings, but that was proven wrong. And, he was happy to wrong. That was enough for him to be happy. His children's happiest smiles.

"Finally." Peter said inaudibily and smiled to himself when he saw his best friend smiling wide at his family. Evan never met his siblings and Peter was happy that they were getting along well.

Aeinshia was smiling big when she saw Evan smiling. Her uncle seemed like he would cry any moment, but she knew it was all from happiness. She was happy that Evan was trying to open up not only to her, but to his family as well.

"My babies, let's release the boat." Alexander softly said, only audible to them and guided them forward to the banks of Lake Cosmos. They all kneeled down, all looking at the boat and the light reflecting, lighting their faces softly.

"Now, we all will make a wish" Alexander said and closed his eyes making his wish. Everyone present there closed their eyes and prayed to their ancestors, telling them to watch over them and told their wishes that they wished with true heart.

"I'm done!" Prince Julias exclaimed and looked around to see that his elders still had their eyes closed, so he pouted and closed his eyes again, to wish for more.

When everyone were done with their wishes, they all opened their eyes and Alexander along with his children placed the boat softly on the water. As they placed on it, General Charles exclaimed.

"Long live, our Seazle Empire!"

All the guards and generals and dukes present over their exclaimed after him in repeated manner.

While they chanted excitedly, the father and children slowly pushed the water, so that the boat would flow and go far into the lake.

They could also, hear the crowd from a far chanting the same thing when they saw the lightened boat being released into the Lake Cosmos.

They all stood and Alexander sighed while looking around. He wanted to stay and roam around the festival like old days, but it was not impossible. It hasn't been possible for him to do that since years and he missed doing that.

He had duties to do and he had some things to review with Andrew before he left the capital to go to west. He sighed again, this time with more emphasis, that he can't seem to enjoy small things.

This didn't go unnoticed by the second queen, Queen Amanda. She approached slowly towards and looked at him with concerned gaze.

"Are you alright, your highness?" She asked. Her voice soft and gentle compared to her intimidating appearance. She was like intimidating to approach, but sweet when known. She is like a treasure box, the more you know, the more one wants to know about her. Even though she looked tsundere on outside which makes others to approach her hard, she is the type of person who tries her best to understand others and support them. Just like spicy on outside, but sweet on inside.

Alexnader just smiled and nodded towards her "Do not worry, my queen. I would be proceeding to the Palace now. You can unwind yourself in the festival with the prince and princesses for a while." Alexander spoke out, trying to divert her attention from him.

Don't take him wrong. He respects all of his three queens. He loves each of them in his own way, but right now he wanted to be left alone to dwell inside himself and maybe drown himself in work.

Queen Amanda just nodded, but still looked at him. Clearly showing that she isn't convinced by his explanation. Alexander sensed this and marched over to his personal group of guards and they were immediate to surround him for protection.
