Ore no Ongaeshi: High Spec Murazukuri

Lesson 10: The Blacksmith's Workshop

Guided by the girl Risha, I came to the blacksmith's house outside the village.

"This is the house of the Mountain Hole."

"Yes, Mr. Yamato. adjacent to the workshop."

Outside the village there was a hidden mountain hole tribe residence by the water. It's a building with an integrated boneless house and workshop that smells like iron burning at any rate.

"You have a small front door, this house is"

"The Mountain Hole tribe is a small species, even adults."

Convinced by Reesha's explanation.

Maybe it's the kind of small, boney race that comes out in fantasy stories. Then a doorway as big as a human would be a useless long one.

"Mr. Gaton, it's Risha. I'm coming in."

Liesha, the village chief's granddaughter, said she had come to this workshop since she was a little girl.

Speak up without even knocking and open the door on your own. It seems that there is no such thing as knocking in this world.

"It's open, take it yourself"

Gaton is probably the main part of this workshop.

I hear an unscrupulous reply from the back of the workshop to Liesha's call. reassurance that the intended person was not away.

Proceed to the back of the workshop with Leisha's guidance. Dim inside but proof is cooked everywhere and bright.

"Ho... this is awesome"

I accidentally get a voice in the sight of the workshop.

Unlike the qualitative building exterior, the workshop was wonderfully tidy.

A number of well-maintained and used tools such as furnaces (roe), fujillo (fujillo), gold floors, etc. are visible to the eye. This is a different world, but the tools of blacksmithing were similar to those of the earth.

"I see the shape of the tool is pretty much the same... this is hilarious..."

I was impressed. If we pursue functionality, the tools may follow the same evolution in any world.

"It's Miss Riesha. What, what about that guy? It's not a strange outfit on your face."

The old man of the Mountain Hole tribe, suspicious of me, who had been seen inside the workshop, appeared from the back, asks Riesha.

"This is the traveler Yamato. I've been living off the village since the other day."

"The Lost One”? What a strange outfit. A fashion costume for the capital, is that it?

To Gaton's words. I turn my gaze to my outfit. Once again, it's a rare outfit that doesn't suit this other world.

What I wear is modern Japanese outdoor clothing. Gore-Tex products that shine with high performance outerwear that also has a sweating and waterproof treatment.

Obviously not like this village costume wearing hemp (asa) or wool knitted clothes.

"" Lost "... well, that's the place. Mr. Gatton, by the way. I need a favor from you."

"Well, you're a tough guy for a rookie, Yamato."

I would have chosen the most polite language possible, but Gaton is obviously on his guard.

(Well, I can't help it if I'm dressed like this...)

Anyway, I'm a strangely dressed Gentile and a newcomer. Had it not thus been accompanied by the village chief's granddaughter Risha, he would have been immediately driven back.

It seems Gaton is also famous in the village as a stubborn man.

Gaton was increasingly rejecting people after Riesha's prior story had left the village adults gone. I'm talking about only getting me a blacksmith job with the minimum daily necessities.

I've been told you can make anything metal involves.

"Hmm! Who are you talking to, you young man! As long as you have superb ingredients, you'll be in the Mountain Hole Clan... No, there's nothing you can't make in this eagle!

Gaton reacts with a bright red face to my provocation. Maybe it pissed me off.

(You have a lot of self-esteem... That's a blacksmith (Ann Meister) or...)

In Riesha's story, this gaton had been awarded the title of "Master of Blacksmith (Ann Meister)", one of only three on the continent.

In other words, it is an amazing skill to fall within the third highest ranking in the world among a number of blacksmiths. Although he is a stubborn man with no interest in honors or medals at all.

"Then can I make you a" here ”?

I take the crossbow (crossbow) and the special arrow from the cloth bag and place it on the table. An improved crossbow (crossbow) of my greatest masterpiece from Earth.

And I ask, can you, the Mountain Hole tribe, reproduce this and make it?

"This is... a crossbow (Ishiyumi) and an arrow... Hmm, is this mechanical here..."

Surprisingly, Gaton has in an instant referred to how a crossbow (crossbow) works.

Riesha's story says that crossbows (crossbows) have not developed much in this world. Therefore, the mechanism is also primitive and user-friendly.

That's why no one in the village understood my crossbow (crossbow) at first. I explained it in detail and actually tried and hit it. Finally they understood.

What an instant Gaton spotted how a crossbow (crossbow) was supposed to be so heterogeneous.

(That's the Mountain Hole Clan...... No, this gaton and man would be awesome)

I am heartily stunned by that fact. To the awesomeness of the alleged gatons of weapons, which is clearly another civilization.

But I had a hunch the moment I saw the used tools in this workshop, and I was hoping. I was wondering if this old craftsman would look good.

"The Hundred News is only at first sight. I'll give it a shot. Just watch."

I asked Gaton to prepare a plate of unwanted metal. I decide to put that up on the pillar and actually get a look at how the crossbow (crossbow) works.

"Again, that's a bow string pulling device... but why such a complicated metal shape... well! Even the powerless pull powerful strings... and fast..."

Looking at my movements to prepare, Gaton speaks of the principle of crossbow after crossbow.

Its contents field Zubari qualified.

I understand instantly, even how ergonomically I knit Teco's principles.

(Phew... that's what it was worth coming here for)

I finish preparing to fire, relying on the gaze of the gazing Mountain Hole clan. Check perimeter safety and point the aim of the arrow at the metal plate on the column.

"Hey, wait up. Yamato and I'll do it! With a weak bow and arrow, a metal plate of that thickness bounces back and is dangerous!

"Let's go! Look at that!

Without hearing Gaton's still words, I hit the crossbow (crossbow) trigger.

Powerfully pulled bow recoil with Teco's latest principles is unleashed at once. An arrow fires at a tremendous initial speed from the crossbow (crossbow).

Gagin!

Heavy metal noises that make you want to block your ears echo in the workshop. A plate of metal came into contact with an arrow speed of several hundred kilometers or more.

"Oh, what is this!?

The artisan Gaton of the Mountain Hole clan speaks out of excitement at the sight. This man, who is a blacksmith, does not mean anything by the noise.

"I didn't expect you to pierce the metal plate for armor with such a small bow... and beat out the back column..."

My crossbow (crossbow) test was successful. The arrow succeeded in piercing the plate of metal.

“An arrow gently penetrates a plate of metal”

To that incredible sight, Gaton and the girl Risha are surprised with their eyes round. I never imagined it would be so powerful.

"I want you to mass produce this crossbow (crossbow) to keep this village alive"

I ask you to be honest with me about what I came here for.

He wants us to help the beasts in the woods and the children at risk of poverty and help them become independent. I'll be honest with you about everything without any rush.

"From what I've seen, are the materials iron and lumber? There's some ingredients here, so mass production is possible."

The blacksmith Gaton takes the crossbow (crossbow) from my hand and checks the parts. The complicated mechanical gear part, he said, would be fine with his own arm.

But what about “consideration”? Onusi... isn't Yamato paying me “what”?

Gaton came to negotiate with me.

(Is this Reesha's troubled "demand for consideration"...)

The Mountain Hole tribe is a stubborn artisanal skin species and is not interested in money, jewelry, honor, etc.

Even if nobles or kings use their power to ask for work, they won't take it on.

“The artisans of the Mountain Hole clan ask for consideration."

As the words put it, what they asked of their client was "consideration”. It's not about money, it's about honor, it's about discerning the other person's "intentions" and saying yes or no to the job.

(Are you interested in consideration...)

Finally, from here on out was the real deal in the negotiations.

I have to give the Mountain Hole what they want. To keep everyone in the village alive and protected.

"I'm offering this knife as consideration."

I pull my favorite survival knife out of my waist. Stick a ton out at the wooden table in front of you.

I'm just saying this is my decision.

"Oh! What... this shiny knife..."

Gaton's expression changes dramatically to the knife of metal material he sees for the first time.

I was so excited many times earlier about crossbows (crossbows). Unknown metals are more valuable to the Mountain Hole tribe than anything else.

"Yamato, don't! It's an important knife for Yamato."

Reesha, who was next door to me, breathes for me.

She knew that this survival was my main weapon and that she cared about it next to her life. She was the only one who told me that it was a product of my parents' shapes.

It was also all this knife that I tailored the Great Rabbit (Vic Rabbit) and the Great Pig (Wild Bore). She realized that letting this go would drastically reduce my combat power.

"Never mind. This knife will give everyone in the village a better chance of survival if a crossbow (crossbow) is mass-produced in one"

This was an objective but not a bad exchange condition. Surely this survival knife is a valuable gesture.

The name knife my parents gave me to celebrate when I called myself an adventurer. This is the most powerful knife ever made by a legendary Japanese knife craftsman, combining the latest forge technology with Japanese blacksmith technology. Now that we have moved to different worlds, we will never need it again.

But this is a short blade crossing melee weapon. Only one dedicated weapon can be used in the village.

In comparison, crossbows (crossbows) have proven to be useful even for children if trained. I had planned that mass production and training would surely help the future of this village.

"Yamato... does your Lord know the ingredients and how to make this knife?

"I'm sorry, I'm interested, but I don't specialize in blacksmiths. When it comes to the craftsmen who made it, I hear how many layers they worked out by combining multiple metals"

Gaton's question continues, nailed to my survival knife.

"Sure this ripple looks like it... but this is not a great business..."

"I have as many stubborn swordsmiths in my country as you do. It's the man's masterpiece."

"I see... I'd like to meet the artisan."

"I'm sorry, maybe I can't do that"

"Right..."

To the best of my knowledge, I answer Gaton's question of observing the survival as I lick it.

The truth is, I knew the metals of the raw materials, but it's synthetic metals, the crystals of modern metal science. It is a material that can never be refined by this degree of civilization in another world. So cloud the words and tell them.

"Let's take on the manufacture of this crossbow"

"Mr. Gatton! Thanks!

Reesha gives a voice of joy to the just consent of the stubborn. Seeing the exchange so far, she would have been about to give up.

"But there are conditions…"

Gaton stares me straight in the eye and goes on with the words.

"Conditions?

"Let my two grandchildren live with you in the village."

"Give your grandchildren... with us..."

In addition to Gaton, there were children of the Mountain Hole tribe who were helping with this workshop. He says he's doing his chores at home now.

"Oh, that's good. Instead, my guidance is strict."

"I haven't grown it to yawa enough to raise roots. Tomorrow I'll send you to the village chief's house with the prototype."

"You think the crossbow (crossbow) prototype is complete tomorrow?

It was the last and only word.

They say it takes only one day to complete a crossbow (crossbow) of such a complex combination of parts.

"Hmm, who do you think I am? Come on, it's still work. Get the hell out of here, you guys."

Gaton's eyes don't look serious and joking. I look forward to this tomorrow morning.

"I expect"

Thus the vertigo of mass production of the crossbow (crossbow) was attached.

The release of my favorite survival knife was a painful expense.

But this will also allow us to respond ad hoc to future food distress.
