Oath of Love

Chapter 31:Lamb In Lion’s Den (2)

"Illegal racing." Thankfully, she asked the right person.

So it was car racing! An Ran's worried heart was suddenly relieved. She was afraid that An Ze would commit an irrevocable crime impulsively.

The siblings had always had a close relationship and An Ze would tell her everything. It wasn't that they weren't close to Gao Enying, but the siblings both knew how difficult it was for her to raise them. They didn't tell her many things because they didn't want her to be more tired.

So, when the police had An Ze call his family, he chose An Ran.

"Who are you to An Ze?"

"His sister."

"Will you pay the bail or have your brother get imprisoned?"

An Ran froze. She obviously didn't want An Ze to be jailed. Even a few months would make him have a criminal record.

"Pay the bail."

"One hundred thousand."

"How much?" An Ran widened her eyes. This giant sum was like a bolt of lightning. "H-how can it be this much?"

She thought it would be a few thousand yuan, or at most 10,000. Who knew it would be this suffocating number?

"It's already a low fine for illegal racing," the officer said. "Go pay the bail to free him. The others all paid and left. Only he's still here."

"Oh, okay." An Ran's mouth twitched while she cried out inside. Where could she get 100,000 yuan?

But she couldn't not rescue An ze.

She walked out with heavy steps. But soon, she turned around and said to the officer, "Uh… Sir, don't tell my brother how much the bail is."

The officer could see how difficult it was for her, as it was written all over her pretty face. It was a bit pitiful. He nodded slightly. "Go try and get the money. You only have three days."

An Ran smiled gratefully and left.

Above her, the sun shone brightly, but An Ran felt blue inside. How could she get 100,000 yuan? She had to get An Ze out quickly, or else Gao Enying would get suspicious.

But 100,000 yuan… She was in a terrible fix.

An Ran walked aimlessly down the street. Buildings rose up on either side of the street in the busy city.

Suddenly, she stopped and looked at a small ad above a three-wheeled wagon. Loan with no deposit. Use your ID to get 50-1,000,000 on the spot. Then it had the contact number.

The wagon's owner was smoking on the side. Seeing An Ran staring thoughtfully at the ad, he chuckled and said, "Little girl, you need loans?"

An Ran smiled faintly. She had no choice but to borrow money, but no one around her could produce that much money quickly.

The man exhaled some smoke and studied An Ran through the haze. He seemed to be enjoying the sight.

"It's a high interest loan," he said. "Little girl, think carefully."

"Oh," An Ran answered faintly before leaving.

But she had memorized the number on the ad. After walking for a while, she finally stopped and dialed it.

"Hello?"

"Speak." The voice in the phone was rough.

An Ran paused. Pushing down her beating heart, she mumbled, "I-I need to borrow money."

After a pause, the man said, "Bring your ID to Royal Nightclub."

A nightclub! An Ran hung up, but a cold feeling rose up in her.
