Oath of Love

Chapter 29: Goodbye, Mr. Ye (6)

"Where is he?" An Ran asked. Suddenly, she realized that she had never dared to say his name out loud.

"Young Master isn't back yet. Miss An, please wait for a bit."

"Okay." An Ran smiled faintly and went upstairs.

She went to the second floor. Standing before Ye Chengwei's library, she said to Sister Rong who was cleaning the living room, "When he comes, tell him I'm in the library."

Sister Rong froze and then said, "Okay."

She froze because An Ran's actions and tone seemed much more casual than the two previous times.

An Ran opened the library door and walked soundlessly across the carpet to the desk.

There was a stack of letter paper on the table. She took one out, along with the pen sticking out of the pen holder. She held it, suddenly spacing out after realizing that Ye Chengwei must have held it too.

But she stopped the thought as soon as it was produced.

An Ran, wake up. There's nothing worth it for you to hold onto it. You can't afford this game, so there's no need to continue. Some bottom lines can't be breached.

As soon as she wrote down "IOU," she heard the sound of the door handle turning. She raised her head and saw Ye Chengwei appear attractively.

He didn't have any expression. Hand in his pocket, he walked over in that mesmerizing way. Sunlight shone through the window and landed on his body. He was so beautiful.

Before, An Ran had always been scared of him. But now, she wasn't afraid at all. She had a choice now, so she didn't have to be lowly and timid anymore.

She stood up, holding that IOU in her hands. Before she could speak, Ye Chengwei's hand moved into her long hair.

It was warm where he was holding. An Ran's expression changed slightly, but her heart didn't jump.

She was forcing herself to stay clear-headed.

"Are you angry about what happened?" Ye Chengwei asked softly. His voice was a bit gentle, but there was no apologetic tone at all.

Him apologize to her? Impossible.

An Ran's fallen heart hardened again. Everything that had just happened was a dagger stabbed into her heart. He and that woman had stabbed her softly but the pain was bone-aching.

An Ran pushed Ye Chengwei's hand aside. Ye Chengwei didn't expect that she would do this. His handsome face turned cold immediately and even that faint gentleness was gone.

She was the first girl who'd dared to push him aside.

"Throwing a tantrum?" he asked coldly, a bit angry.

It's as if it was a feat for him to coax her for a bit and she should be grateful instead of dodging him with a temper.

An Ran smiled faintly. Before, she'd been careful, fearing that he would be unhappy. But now, she didn't care if he was happy or not. She'd already made her decision.

She pushed the IOU to his chest.

Ye Chengwei hesitated. He seemed to sense a careless feeling from An Ran's fearless eyes.

He accepted the paper.

He read it quickly and, as An Ran had expected, his expression became frosty. His eyes had anger that was about to burn.

He couldn't stand any bit of disobedience from others, but this time, she would disobey him completely.

She could be his lover and learn how to serve him.

But he couldn't insult her. Even more, he couldn't insult her with another woman. The 200,000 yuan couldn't buy her last bit of dignity.

"Repay me 200,000 yuan after you graduate from college? With interest?" Ye Chengwei twisted the IOU slowly. Sneering, he asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes." An Ran met his eyes calmly.

Even though this number was a fortune to her, she would definitely repay him. She wouldn't owe him a single penny no matter how hard it was.
