My Sweet Dr. Xu

"He wasn't feeling well just now and went to sleep." Just as Qiao finished talking, a servant rushed down from upstairs. "Mr. Qiao, Mr. Gu just woke up and threw tantrum. Please go and take a look!"

Upon hearing this, Qiao's expression became serious.

It looked like this incident was a usual incident which happened here.

As long as Gu Nantian got angry, it was a disaster for all the other servants.

Xu Zhiyin tailed Qiao up the stairs. Gu Nantian's bedroom door was opened. Before she could enter, she heard his raging voice, "Where's Xu Zhiyin? Isn't she back yet?"

Xu Zhiyin was stunned. She didn't expect him to remember her at this time.

Qiao walked in quickly. "Dr. Xu is back."

Qiao signaled to Xu Zhiyin and she took two steps forward. She went into the room and saw Gu Nantian in his pajamas, sitting on the bed. His hair was messy and there was fury in him. He didn't look like his usual self. Now, his eyes were red, bloodthirsty and scary…

He managed to plant a new image in Xu Zhiyin's heart.

Since their first meeting, Gu Nantian had been submissive to her wishes and occasionally showed some emotions and acted like a spoilt child but he was usually extremely gentle.

Never had she thought that he had another side which was violent.

She couldn't help but think of the day she was kidnapped to the Gu Mansion. His subordinates had their way of inviting people proving that Gu Nantian was a bad-tempered person before he had lost his memory.

Luckily, Xu Zhiyin's mind was still strong. She walked toward Gu Nantian. "I've just returned. What happened?"

Her voice was like the tranquilizer, reducing Gu Nantian's anger by half. Xu Zhiyin got close to him and before she could react, she was held tightly in his embrace. His voice was filled with sorrow, just like a child who had almost lost his favorite toy. "I thought you would not come back."

"Why would you think like that?" Xu Zhiyin took his emotions into consideration and dared not push him away.

Gu Nantian leaned against the hollow of her shoulder and kept taking in her scent which could calm him down. "Please stay beside me, don't leave me."

His voice was filled with pleas. Xu Zhiyin looked at him and felt her heart soften.

"Gu Nantian…" She touched his shoulders gently, consoling him, hoping he would calm down.

He hugged her, not allowing her to leave and not uttering a single word.

Xu Zhiyin felt awkward in this position as there were many people in the room.

She let out a sigh. "Don't be like this, everyone is watching us!"

If he continued doing that, the relationship between them could be misunderstood.

Qiao signaled and got everyone else out of the room.

The room resumed its peace. Xu Zhiyin looked at Gu Nantian. She stretched out her hand to tidy his hair slightly. It looked gentler and less aggressive. 

"Did you recall something when you dreamt just now?"

If it were the Gu Nantian who had lost his memory, he would not rage so bafflingly.

He must have thought of some bad memory to react like this!

Gu Nantian heard her but did not say anything. Xu Zhiyin coaxed him for a while and let him lie down on the bed. She sat by his side with her hand still tightly seized by him. She was unable to leave.

She looked into his eyes gently. "Tell me, what did you dream of just now? This may help you recall your past."

Gu Nantian looked up at her. "I dreamt of you."

"Me? How am I scary?" How did it scare him?

"I dreamt you eloped with someone else and don't want me anymore." Gu Nantian held onto her hand tightly. "Darling, if you betray me, I won't let you go easily."

"…" His indifferent look sent shivers down Xu Zhiyin's heart. Why did she feel she had messed with a terrifying person?

Previously, she thought whenever she was unhappy, she could leave anytime but now, from Gu Nantian's response, it was impossible.

Unless, he recalled everything and felt she was not important…

Gu Nantian waywardly pulled her into his embrace and allowed Xu Zhiyin to nestle against his chest. Only by doing this could he feel at ease. "Have I scared you?"

"I just feel you are completely different from what I imagined you to be."

Such aggressiveness, such coldness, such dominance…

No wonder there were lots of rumors about him outside. Many people kept themselves at a respectful distance from him.

Gu Nantian gently kissed her earlobe. "As long as you are by my side, I'll give you everything you want, just don't leave me."

"…" Xu Zhiyin dared not talk. She was a little afraid of this man.

The most important thing was whatever he did now could not be deduced according to common sense. If she were to provoke him and something were to happen to her, he would be judged as having mental illness and would not be held responsible.

Humans are indeed social beings. If one were alone when one is sad, the sadness would be magnified and it might even lead to despair but it was never the same if one were with someone else.

She heard Gu Nantian's breathing become even, so she turned to take a look at him. He had indeed fallen asleep.

Xu Zhiyin went on tip-toe, trying to leave him. Before she walked half a meter away, Gu Nantian opened his eye alertly, "Are you trying to escape?"
