"I have to stay with her at the hospital and can't leave now." Ji Liunian told her, "Please help."

He didn't care if Xu Zhiyin was willing or not, he had taken that she would not decline.

Xu Zhiyin stood right there and watched as Ji Liunian left. The pain she had slowly forgotten with great difficulty the entire night was now engulfing her once more.

Why did he ask her for such favor?

He knew she didn't like Chuxia.

Had he forgotten the reality that she was once his wife?

Cheng Nan Noodle House was a place the three of them used to go to together when they were schooling.

During the time, Xu Zhiyin was like Chuxia's follower, trailing behind Chuxia. She had no choice because she liked Ji Liunian very much and only by trailing behind Chuxia could she have more opportunities to see Ji Liunian.

The few years Chuxia hadn't been around, she and Ji Liunian often went to this noodle house to have noodles. There were too many memories there and it was a place difficult to forget.

Xu Zhiyin did not go out to buy noodles but she called for delivery instead so someone could send the noodles to the hospital.

Xu Zhiyin didn't understand what she was doing. It was like a habit. She was used to helping Ji Liunian do whatever he asked her to do.

She took the noodles and appeared outside Chuxia's ward. She told herself that she was here to avoid others from being suspicious of the relationship between Ji Liunian and Chuxia and to retain her face and pride. She wanted to avoid others from knowing that her cousin and her husband were now together so others would not make fun of them.

She gathered her courage and pushed the door open. When she entered, she saw Chuxia sitting on the bed and Ji Liunian cutting fruits for her.

Whenever Xu Zhiyin was present, she could never bear to see Ji Liunian tired and would not want him to stay up late at night. So, in the past, when any member of Ji Liunian's family was admitted, she would be the one who accompanied them in the ward.

However, for Chuxia's sake, he remained in the hospital from yesterday till now.

Chuxia saw Xu Zhiyin and raised her head. She was about to say something but pretended to lower her head in a forbearing manner.

She looked as if she was nursing a great grievance from Xu Zhiyin.

"I had some food sent over." Xu Zhiyin ignored Chuxia and spoke to Ji Liunian. This was what he asked her to do. She had completed the task!

Ji Liunian embraced Chuxia with one hand and uttered attentively, "Here's the noodles from Cheng Nan that you wanted. I asked Zhiyin to buy some."

"No, thank you. I don't wish to eat now." Chuxia said wearily, "I know she hates me. How dare I eat food she buys?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Zhiyin's heart sank. She immediately understood that Chuxia was trying to drive a wedge between her and Ji Liunian on purpose. No wonder Ji Liunian pushed the blame over Chuxia's miscarriage on her yesterday. "Chuxia, what's that supposed to mean?"

Chuxia raised her head and her exquisite face was filled with accusation. Her arrogance was nowhere to be seen and she was completely different from yesterday, "Didn't you call me the third party? You feel like I'm the one who caused the separation between you and Liunian. Then, why are you still here doing things hypocritically?" She paused on purpose and added, "You don't have to pretend to be the good person. We all know what kind of person you are."

"Xu Chuxia!" Xu Zhiyin who was usually good-tempered, was now burning with fury! Her fingers were tightly clenched into a fist, "Let's hear it from you, what kind of person am I? What have I done to you? When you were admitted, I came quickly to help you with the admission procedures. How have I wronged you? How can you behave in this manner?"

Even if she was once married to Ji Liunian, they have been divorced and this would not affect their relationship. Would Chuxia only be satisfied when Ji Liunian hated her?

Ji Liunian tried to patch up the quarrel, "Zhiyin, put the noodles here. Go and continue with your work! Don't quarrel. This is the ward."

"Do you think I have the mood to work? Why is she saying all this unclearly here?" She had been wronged bafflingly and hadn't been given a chance to explain!

Ji Liunian shoved the fruits to Chuxia and raised his head to look at Xu Zhiyin. His handsome face was indifferent and he looked at her coldly, "So, what do you want to do?"

Just one sentence and Xu Zhiyin immediately became a deflated ball.

Ji Liunian still looked angry because he felt it was because of her that Chuxia's baby was gone!

When she thought about Ji Liunian's misunderstanding, Xu Zhiyin couldn't help but explain clearly, "I didn't do anything yesterday. Chuxia's loss has nothing to do with me. You can't blame me!"

She couldn't be the scapegoat and didn't want Ji Liunian to think she was an evil woman!

She would never do something to harm Chuxia, firstly because it was disdainful and secondly it was unnecessary. If she were to harm Chuxia, Ji Liunian would hate her more and to be hated by him was the most fearful thing for her.

Ji Liunian looked at Xu Zhiyin but was silent.

Xu Zhiyin met his gaze and her eyes were flowing with sadness, "We were together for three years, don't you know what kind of person I am? Why would I do such thing? If I wanted to do so, why did I agree to the divorce?"

Ji Liunian was taken aback by what she had said. Yes, they had been together for three years. Even his family members liked Xu Zhiyin very much now despite their initial rejection.

Hence, he thought he might have misunderstood her!

Chuxia secretly saw Ji Liunian's response and that he was shaken by what Xu Zhiyin said. She added quickly, "Even if you pretend to be pitiful in front of Liunian, it still won't change the words you said to me. Why? Do you mean I've wronged you?"

These words made the small bit of gentleness in Ji Liunian's eyes disappear that instant.

Xu Zhiyin wanted to rebut but Ji Liunian commanded, "Zhiyin, please go out! Chuxia doesn't wish to see you."

He loved Chuxia and naturally would stand by her side.

However, Zhiyin was once his wife and he didn't want what he said or did to be too much for her.

Thus, this moment, all he wanted to do was to make peace.

Xu Zhiyin stared at him dumbfoundedly. Before Chuxia returned, Ji Liunian believed in whatever she said but now the more she said, the more she looked like a liar.

Obviously, Ji Liunian did not trust her!

She was afraid to be misunderstood.

Looking at Ji Liunian unwillingly, she uttered, "I really did not say anything to her, Liunian, please believe me."

She could take it if everyone else misunderstood her but she didn't want him to misunderstand her.

"That's right, she didn't say anything. I'm the one who framed her!" Chuxia shot a look at Xu Zhiyin and said sarcastically.

Xu Zhiyin rolled her eyes and looked at Chuxia who was hoping for chaos so she could achieve her goals. The more Chuxia said in this manner, the less likely Ji Liunian was to believe in Xu Zhiyin.

It had been like this from their youth…

No matter what, Chuxia had a way of making others believe her and not Xu Zhiyin.
