He lifted up my chin to check if indeed I was sleeping before he started to no one in particular. I listened carefully to him because I found it very weird that he chose to keep on talking even though he thought that I was asleep.

"I looked so much like my father you know, in everything. People even claimed that we spoke alike. But I didn't know what I felt for him while growing up and I still don't know how I feel for him even now that he is dead.

"I wouldn't say that he was a bad father but he was a very bad husband, at least that was what I thought when I was still little. He used to beat my mum every single day until she finally died from it. He died right after, before the court could decide on his fate he killed himself.

"But we were alike in so many ways and because I saw him hit my mother always I started to hit her too. It was not because he did it , it was because she kept on condoning it from so I just assumed that she loved to be beaten, that women love to be beaten when married."

"_ She never spoke up against him and everyone thought that he was the perfect man and husband. There were so many times I begged her to leave him but she never did. She claimed to love us both too much to leave even when we hit her. So I just assumed that she loved us because we hit her.".

" But there was a day she slapped me and I returned the slap. That day she promised me that I would end up being like my father. Funny enough I still don't know if it was a curse or a prophecy."

I accidentally sighed. The information he was gave out now was too much to handle. I wanted so much to speak but I could not. Not only was I too dumbfounded to I needed to keep up my cover.

"Mira are you awake now?" He asked lifting up my chin. I didn't stir. I continued to pretend like I was asleep.

Now at least I understood why he behaved the way he did. His father had been a major influence on him. There was really so much I didn't know about him which left me to wonder what exactly were we discussing about when we were still dating. If I he had told me this story before we got married I wasn't sure that I would have gone through with the marriage.

Indeed he hid a lot of things from me. He set a gentleman's trap and I fell right into it.

When I finally slept off I was met with a terrible dream in the dream,

I was kissing Cletus deeply. My hands moved to his c.o.c.k, rubbing and squeezing. He s.u.c.k.e.d my earlobe as I mourned in p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e.

Throwing me to the bed he was about to take off my p.a.n.t.i.e.s when I suddenly saw blood. Two kids were covered with blood from head to toe.

"Mummy he killed us." They cried holding knives to their eyes. "He killed us like this,"  In unison the both of them stabbed one eye  then they moved to other.

"And like this," They screamed stabbing their c.h.e.s.t. Then they brought out their bloodied heart and showed it to me.

Soon their cries turned to wails. Pieces of their body's were scattered in the room. Blood was pouring from the ceiling.

And all I could hear was, "he killed us."

"Jesus." I screamed jumping up from the bed. My heart beat uncontrollably. I made the sign of the cross over and and over over again.

"Thank God it was only a nightmare." I breathed heavily, placing my hands on my c.h.e.s.t.

I immediately noticed that I woke up later than usual, looking at the wall clock it was already past six. "Oh my God!" I exclaimed.

Cletus was no longer in bed and I could smell trouble for me. I imagined him in the bathroom preparing to go to work.

I was surely going to be beaten today. What came over me last night. This would be the first time I woke up this late since I got married.
