My Chaotic City

In the blink of an eye, Deity Robber was beaten up to the point that he disappeared in the flash of light. He immediately abandoned the attack.

Truthfully, Deity Robber was not worried about dying because he had already been cut down to Level 1 and had nothing left to lose, not even experience.

However, Zhen Deqiang’s last words to him were that his pay was getting cut by half.

This was too much for Deity Robber to bear. He had just joined the Rich Emperor’s Guild and had yet to receive his wages, only for them to now be cut in half.

Who could he complain to?

Deity Robber silently made a decision. In the future, he would do more and talk less. What use was there in being a strategist when it was just digging a hole for himself.

Zhen Deqiang and Chun Sanyue were both unhappy and began to blame each other.

“The game just released and you haven’t even joined a military camp. What good is attacking a city? I’ve already said this a long time ago and now look at what you’ve done. You’ve even dragged me with you into this mess. Zhen Deqiang, you have to compensate me. My Defensive Towers are all gone and my Chief Officer is dead, I’m no different from a new player now.” Chun Sanyue lamented, his ire rising as he thought about it.

Zhen Deqiang and Chun Sanyue bickered endlessly while the players by their side continued to decrease.

Zhen Dejun did not dare to interfere. He took a large group of followers and abandoned the City defense mission, leaving.

They had dropped levels for nothing and there was no point in standing around. They may as well have gone and train levels while they idled in order to regain their losses.

Meanwhile, Li Hanqiang’s side was naturally in high spirits. They only lamented that they could not go through the Space-Time Wormhole to counterattack.

Fanning Knight spoke, “I wonder what the reward will be. There must be a lot of experience.”

Dark Redemption came up to Li Hanqiang and pointed at Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage as he said, “Where did they get those turtle shells on their back?”

“Would you like one!” Li Hanqiang asked.

“Of course, it would be indispensable in taking on a boss. If you can stack four or five of them and just use them to block a boss, that would be amazing!” Dark Redemption said enthusiastically. His group was currently attacking a world clone called Burning Wastes and they had failed multiple times due to a lack of tanks.

Li Hanqiang replied, “In order to get this turtle shell, it’s based on luck. You can consider it a specialty product of mine. I currently don’t have any.”

“You don’t have any, that’s a shame!” Dark Redemption then rushed over to Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage and said, “You two, would you be interested in a raid…”

Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage were immediately excited as they began to chat enthusiastically with Dark Redemption. They began to blow up their aptitude in raiding, as well as their experiences using the Bright Green Turtle Shell.

Li Hanqiang stayed to one side and listened in, treating as if he understood the adventurer players.

The map of Endless World was extremely large to the point that it was nearly endless as its name suggested.

Speaking of regional cities alone, there was an unknown number of them.

Each city was not the same, with different climates, geography, and cultures. Some of them were centers of commerce, while others were important military centers…

To an adventurer, which city they were born in made little to no difference as they could develop themselves well.

The area surrounding these regional cities naturally had an abundance of training areas. Generally, there were also events going on. However, they were mostly small events of various kinds, such as mines, Beast Lairs, Hunter’s Camp, and so on. Naturally, every regional city had different events in their surrounding areas.

Apart from these events near the cities, there were also global events. They were much more impressive and were basically large-scale events aimed at all adventurer Players. The event could be initiated at all regional cities and even allowed the crossing of Chaotic City groupings.

Global events were extremely difficult and the equipment they dropped were of a very high level. There was also a chance to get on the leaderboards, as well as first clear and first boss kill rewards, among other things, which were the must-haves of large guilds.

Dark Redemption, Fanning Knight, and Fiery Blade Sage were talking about the Global Event 001 named Burning Wastes. This was a Level 20 global event that was extremely difficult and at the moment, no group had successfully cleared it yet.

“Players’ attacks can actually damage Defensive Towers. It’s a good thing the attacks of these Players were not strong enough. If they had really destroyed a Defensive Tower, things could have gotten bad!” Li Hanqiang thought.

He did some research and found out that the Defensive Towers had no way of repairing themselves. Perhaps he needed a special artisan or to unlock a specific technology?

As he thought about it, he paced. The Space-Time Wormhole before him began to shrink as the numbers on the attacker’s board began to drop until it finally reached zero.

Defense of Chaotic City No. 68 has succeeded and all defending Players will obtain a large amount of experience as well as Chaotic City Contributions!]

After this Area Announcement, Li Hanqiang suddenly glowed white and he had risen to Level 15. This was immediately followed by a system notification.

[Ding, congratulations on your successful defense of Chaotic City No. 68. You will receive a number of vagabonds, gold, and a certificate of valor.

[Ding, congratulations, you have received x0 vagabonds and 125 bound gold pieces.]

“Vagabond?” Li Hanquang felt a little disappointed. Chun Sanyue’s home was pristine so what vagabonds were there? Furthermore, the rewards were not great as he only got 125 gold pieces.

With such rewards for a successful city defense, how could Li Hanqiang be satisfied?
