My Chaotic City

At that moment, Zhen Deqiang was standing at the rear, his face full of rage.

This strategy of charging into the towers was causing horrendous casualties.

Furthermore, the moment they died, they would lose a lot of levels and their stats would suffer. Even an expert would turn into a weakling once they died a few times.

“Guild Leader! I need to leave, I can’t afford to die anymore. If I die once more, I’ll turn into rubbish!”

The Player with the round shield who was previously positioning himself with such speed and grace stood before Zhen Deqiang. He had a bitter look on his face. In a short amount of time, he had dropped to Level 10. His original equipment could no longer be equipped due to level restrictions and his HP was now down to 1,250.

“What are you afraid of!” Zhen Deqiang glared at him as he roared. “Go! Keep moving forward! Don’t be afraid! That’s right, take down the towers. The moment we take them down everything becomes easier!”

Zhe Deqiang shouted, and under his orders, even more Players appeared from the Space-Time Wormhole.

Furthermore, a large amount of Players began targeting the Defensive Towers, casting fireballs and throwing shurikens at them.

Li Hanqiang felt excitement and guilt at the same time. The attacking Players were nothing but weaklings in the face of the Defensive Towers. Regardless of if they were experts or not, all died before them. However, the attacking Players were numerous and they resurrected after dying to return to the battlefield in an endless wave. More importantly, they were fast as they pushed through to the bottom of the Defensive Towers.

Fortunately, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage were in secure positions and even managed to pull off a miracle by lying down.

“Come on, kill me! I only have 4500 HP and 135 Defense!” Fanning Knight bellowed.

“Yeah, kill him! He’s just lying there for you to attack him. If you can’t kill him, this attack will fail.” Fiery Blade Sage joined in.

The Players of Emperor’s Rich Guild could no longer take it. There was no point in just soaking up the firepower of the Defensive Towers. The focus should be on defeating the defending Players.

However, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage were like rocks in a cesspit, odious and hard. They just lay there and let their enemies attack them without any avail.

They were also drinking potions and this infuriated their opponents.

Furthermore, there was also a large formation of Skeleton Warriors who had already succeeded in building a wall and blocked off the entire War Corridor.

These Skeleton Warriors were only Level 5 and would not be able to withstand the attacks of Players. Under normal circumstances, with magicians and archers attacking at range and with various area of effect spells, they would be easily defeated. However, under the protection of Li Hanqiang’s Defensive Towers, these weak Skeleton Warriors had become impossible to kill.

What was even more infuriating was that behind the Skeleton Warriors was Dark Redemption, who was firing arrows at a steady pace. He had a high attack and constantly summoned new Skeleton Warriors. He was basically a necromancer.

The morale of the attacking Players steadily declined. The moment they died, they all began to hesitate and were no longer willing to press the attack.

Gradually in that manner, Li Hanqiang realized that he had stabilized the battle lines.

“It seems that Fanning Knight, Fiery Blade Sage, and Dark Redemption have truly been of great help!” Li Hanqiang exclaimed. He realized that while the firepower of the Defensive Towers were important in holding off the attack, he also could not lack defending Players who were competent.

If Fanning Knight, Fiery Blade Sage, and the others were not here, while he may not fail in holding the city, the little gremlins would suffer heavy losses.

At that moment, a small fireball zipped past Li Hanqiang’s ear.

Li Hanqiang narrowed his eyes and realized that the fireball came from Zhen Dejun.

“Everybody, charge! Charge, charge! Robbers, go into stealth. Clerics, cast buffs. Archers, don’t idle! Anybody who can hit the defending Players, do so! If you cannot, target the Defensive Towers!”

Zhen Dejun yelled while a circle of clerics healed him. That First-Class Star was among them.

As he screamed, Zhen Dejun casted another fireball at Li Hanqiang’s direction.

“Dumb*ss, don’t you know that the City Lord is Invincible? I’ll send you home!” Li Hanqiang levitated once more, and with a thought, five beams of Sword Qi stabbed toward Zhen Dejun again and again, turning the area into a wasteland.

Zhen Deqiang could no longer bear it and he took to the field himself. He rode a large horse, its stats publicly displayed. He brandished a large sword as he charged forward, drawing everyone’s attention.

“Follow me! I’ll take the point and the rest of you follow on behind. I don’t believe I can’t cut down that measly force of defenders!

Zhen Deqiang yelled and led a force of followers forwards.

It went without saying that Zhen Deqiang was competent. He rode his mount in a serpentine pattern and was even able to block Bright Lances with his sword. Li Hanqiang treated him like a boss and responded in the strongest way possible: concentrated fire from all Defensive Towers!

Five Sword Towers and nine Bright Lance Dark Arrow Towers. This meant that there were five beams of Sword Qi and nine groups of Bright Lances and Dark Arrows trained at him.

Zhen Deqiang was but a knight and even with his horse, he was no god. The damage counters on his head were like a red cloud and he did not even have the chance to consume a potion before he was gone with a white light.

“Who else!”

Li Hanqiang was in the zone and he bellowed. With a large gesture, he threw down two ‘Folding Umbrellas’ into the ground. The Folding Umbrellas turned into banners that stood on either side of the War Corridor, their banners unfurling.

The banner on the left read, “Little Rich Emperor’s are a joke.”

The banner on the right read, “Beware of Bright Lance Dark Arrow.”

The players from the Rich Emperor’s Guild began to cause an uproar as they read the banners and among them, a dozen or so of them rushed forward to the banners, attacking it while they cursed.

The banners had limited durability and they were about to be destroyed. However, the group of Players were completely annihilated by the Sword Qi.

At the very end of the Space-Time Wormhole, the unibrowed Chun Sanyue glared viciously at Li Hanqiang.

He recognized those banners as there was one once set up in front of his Chaos’ Core. He had just destroyed it less than half an hour ago.

“Li Hanqiang!” Chun Sanyue strained his vocal chords to shout, “You shameless trash! You break into my home, I’ll make you pay for it!”

Li Hanqiang cupped his ears but it was too noisy and he could not make out what Chun Sanyue had said. He also did not recognize him. At a glance, he guessed he was an insignificant character and paid him no mind.

He continued to control the towers and kill enemies, but this time it was in a supportive role.

Dark Redemption was safely in the rear, while Fanning Knight and Fiery Balde Sage were secure as old turtles in their shells.

There were now more than 100 Skeleton Warriors that they were like a small army.

Li Hanqiang cooperated with Dark Redemption and constantly left the wounded Players for Dark Redemption in order to spawn one Skeleton Warrior per arrow.

In the blink of an eye, there were even more Skeleton Warriors. They stepped over Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage and held their position slightly forward of them, A moment later, both of them were no longer lying down. They had moved forward and formed ranks with the Skeleton Warriors to face off with the attacking Players.

Zhen Deqiang had led the assault a few times but it was entirely pointless. He could not resist it and was killed the moment he showed himself, almost like cannon fodder.

Finally, the sounds of the attacking Players began to die down and another ten minutes later, there were no more attacking Players who dared to come out of the Space-Time Wormhole. Furthermore, on the attacker’s board, the number of attacking Players kept decreasing. This showed that there were Players who were beginning to abandon the attack.

What came next was only the armored infantrymen and the defense of the city became very boring.

Li Hanqiang sighed in relief. The Rich Emperor’s Guild must have been stupid to think that his Chaotic City would be so easily attacked? They had paid for that mistake.

“Giving up already? Aren’t you going to attack the City?”

“This was an easy victory!”

“How were we spawn camped by such a weak Guild in the past? That’s so embarrassing!”

“I didn’t even need to do anything. All I needed to do was lie down and the defense was successful, hahaha!”

“The Rich Emperor’s Guild is really a low-tier guild, Zhen Deqiang is really not strong[1]…”

Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage were chatting away happily, bantering and shooting the wind. They were both in high spirits.

At the same time, in Chun Sanyue’s Chaotic City, it was deadly quiet.

Nobody spoke and there was a heavy atmosphere.

Before them, the Space-Time Wormhole was still opening a channel to attack the City but nobody walked into it.

Chun Sanyue rubbed his chest and he finally could not hold it in anymore as he roared, “Attack, attack. Whose idea was this? They sent everyone to their deaths!”

Zhen Deqiang rubbed his nose. He too was very displeased.

Looking at Chun Sanyue who was in a fit of rage, he did not wish to speak. Therefore, he changed the topic, “Who would have thought that Li Hanqiang’s Defensive Towers would be so strong. What kind of towers are those? I don’t know where he got them. This is really losing Jingzhou[2] by accident.”

Zhen Deqiang narrowed his eyes when he saw Deity Robber. His face darkened and he yelled, “You’re an excellent armchair general but when the rubber hits the road, you fail miserably. Deity Robber, I told you to find out Li Hanqiang’s defensive capabilities, but you found out nothing!”

Deity Robber was already trembling and he cried out, “Guild leader, don’t be mad. Losses and victories are part of a military campaign!”

“Me beating you up is also part of a military campaign! Beat him up, it was this fellow’s dumb idea!” Zhen Deqiang bellowed as he punched Deity Robber with all the anger in his heart.
