My Chaotic City

Dark Redemption, Fanning Knight, and Fiery Blade Sage at this moment all collapsed on their Chaotic Stone Slab, exhausted! 

Of course, it was not physical, but mental exhaustion. 

The white light of leveling up emanated from their bodies. Dark Redemption leveled up to Level 15, while Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage both leveled up to Level 12! 

Li Hanqiang had no idea how the experience was allocated, as he had only attained Level 8. 

However, he had no use of levels, so he was not too worried. 

"So many system notifications, I can finally obtain a passive skill!" 

Li Hanqiang was excited. He did not pay any attention to the system notifications as he stepped into the air and said, "Good work everyone! I am not a miserly City Lord, so everyone gets their one gold piece as promised. Come on, come here and get your reward." 

Nobody paid him any mind. 

On the front-most Chaotic Stone Slab, Fanning Knight said, "I don't even want to speak, I'm so goddamn tired!" 

Fiery Blade Sage next to him was slumped on the ground and he grunted, "I don't want to kill a single Boar again." 

He glanced at Li Hanqiang before speaking, "This dumb*ss City Lord is in the air, how are we supposed to get our gold piece?" 

Dark Redemption was in no better shape than the other two, but he instead took stock before suddenly exclaiming, "Oh sh*t, I've used more than 30 Blue Potions, and 15 low-level Inspiration Potions. What a loss!" 

The Blue Potions were no big deal as they were easily collected by his followers and one could not miss something that cost nothing. However, the low-level Inspiration Potions were purchased using currency from the Mysterious Shop. Those 15 bottles would cost 3 gold coins and 60 silver coins. 

A great loss! 

Right now, apart from his levels, he had nothing else. 

Apart from that, he also owed 3 gold coins to City Lord Li Hanqiang. 

"How could I let you suffer a loss!" Li Hanqiang saw that nobody moved as he leisurely made his way in front of Dark Redemption. "You were much better than those two deadweights, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage. In this defense, you contributed the most so forget about those 3 gold coins from before! Also, do you see what this is?" 

He highlighted Fireball. 

Dark Redemption was very pleasantly surprised as his gaze was immediately attracted by Fireball. 

"What a good item! That must have been dropped by the Metal Skinned Boar King. Are you planning on giving it to me?" Dark Redemption lost all sense of exhaustion and immediately perked up. 

Li Hanqiang touched his nose. "I'll sell it to you at a low price!" 

Dark Redemption was instantly at a loss. 

Li Hanqiang continued, "To tell you the truth, that Metal Skinned Boar King was summoned by me using a special summon, and the summoning spell is not cheap. For me to just get a Fireball is actually a loss for me…" 

Dark Redemption cut him off with a wave of his hand. "I don't have the money. I'm broke right now. Even with my small group of followers I would need to go hungry." 

Li Hanqiang put Fireball back and smiled as he spoke, "You've got a group of followers? Then we can make a deal! I'll hold on to this Fireball, and don't worry, it's reserved only for you. You just need to go and collect the money for it. Based on your current level, I guess you would already be on the leaderboards and that you know your way around the game? I bet you could easily jaunt around and you'd just be picking up gold coins and equipment… Or if you pick up Defensive Tower Construction Blueprints or Building Blueprints, you can come and exchange it with me." 

"Alright then." Dark Redemption nodded. Li Hanqiang was right, The Chaotic City was only a training ground. His true stage was in The Endless World. Now that he had the levels, some quests that were stuck should now be easily passed, and he could also easily upgrade his equipment. 

After a long while, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage finally got off the Chaotic Stone Slabs and ran over to Li Hanqiang to claim their bounty. 

Li Hanqiang was not miserly and he gave as promised. In any case, it was only 2 gold coins. 

He needed to secure these regular customers to ensure the success of future defenses. 

The four of them then added each other into their friend list. 

As an Adventurer, Dark Redemption and the rest could do much more. The in-game world was vast, and there were countless places to explore. 

The three of them chatted for a while more and discussed topics such as leveling up skills, exploiting instances, learning life skills, fighting in the arena, and other such topics before they each went their own way. 

Li Hanqiang however, felt bored. 

What now? 

As the Chaotic City Lord, he could not leave the Chaotic City. He would need to surpass Level 30 in order to be allowed to leave the Chaotic City. 

He did not dare to begin the fourth wave of invading monsters. Furthermore, he was barred from doing so for ten more hours. 

"Let's just open the loot boxes then." 

Li Hanquang went to the Chaos' Core, it was time for a reckoning.

He got another loot box. Li Hanqiang opened it and the items he got were just the same as the previous one. 20 bound gold coins, two Chaotic Stone Slabs, one Random Defensive Tower Blueprint Fragment, and one Summon Special Monster Order. 

"It's not too bad. At least I collected three blueprint fragments!" 

Collecting three blueprint fragments allowed for one complete blueprint. However, the kind of blueprint that showed up was entirely random. 

Li Hanquang knew that in the future, he would still need to get into combat. Therefore, he did not hesitate and combined the three Defensive Tower Blueprint Fragments together to create one complete blueprint.

"A Level 2 tower! And it has an Area of Effect damage." Li Hanqiang was overjoyed and marveled at the Fire Tower as soon as he saw its characteristics. 

If he had possessed the Fire Tower earlier, he would not need to be afraid of the Little Black Pigs or Big Black Pigs. 

With a 50 meter radius of fire damage, he would not even fear a billion Big Black Pigs. The tower was 20 meters tall, with a crimson red flame above it. The embers rose and spread like the waves of the ocean. It seemed much more intimidating than the Basic Arrow Tower. 

"It really is a Level 2 Tower. It's a lot better in appearance than a Level 1 Defensive Tower." Li Hanqiang could not help but take a step back, afraid that he would be burnt by the flames of the Fire Tower. However, it was a magical flame and did not harm its allies. There was no heat emanating from it despite its intimidating appearance. 

"Oh, right! There's also the Blue Ripple Pond Construction Blueprint!" Li Hanqiang smacked his forehead. The Blue Ripple Pond was a special building. Now that he had successfully defended against the third wave of invading monsters, it could be constructed. 

The Blue Ripple Pond required 100 points of Chaotic Energy to be spent from the Chaos' Core. Li Hanqiang did not mind since the regeneration rate of Chaotic Energy was one per hour. Furthermore, since there were no monsters attacking the city, he would just let it regenerate on its own. 

When he reached the "vacant" border behind the Chaos' Core, Li Hanqiang did not hesitate to use the Blue Ripple Pond Construction Blueprint. 

Immediately, slates appeared before him out of nowhere, and in a few heartbeats, it had created a 100-meter long pathway. At the end of the 100-meter long pathway, a small Space-Time Wormhole slowly formed and in the blink of the eye, the three words "Blue Ripple Pond" appeared above the Space-Time Wormhole.
