My Chaotic City

The Basic Arrow Tower began firing first. Bolt after bolt struck the back of the Metal Skinned Boar King like a sniper rifle, but they only pinged off the beast. 

-5, -6, -5, -6… 

A row of damage values appeared above the head of the Metal Skinned Boar King, making one's eyes go wide. The formidable Basic Arrow Tower was only dealing five or six damage points to the Metal Skinned Boar King. 

"It's over." 

The Basic Arrow Tower fired two bolts per second and could deal ten damage points per second. The running speed of the Metal Skinned Boar King was no more than 10 meters per second. It had been roughly 40 seconds since the beast had run into the range of the Basic Arrow Tower. The Basic Arrow Tower was only able to deal 400 points of damage in this period! 

The Metal Skinned Boar King had 1000 HP. Therefore in order to defeat it, Dark Redemption would need to deal 600 points of damage in a very short amount of time. 

Was it possible? 

Worrying, this was truly worrying! 

Li Hanqiang regretted his past actions, cursing himself for being ill-prepared. This Metal Skinned Boar King was unkillable. He had not only wasted a Summon Special Monster Order, but the Chaos' Core was going to be diminished in power. Even if they managed to successfully defend the city, they were definitely not going to obtain any special prizes. 

If any mishaps occurred, the power of Chaos' Core would be lost and the city defense would be a failure. If that happened, he would really need to find a corner to cry in. 

The Metal Skinned Boar King charged forward despite the bolts. Everything was going as Li Hanqiang calculated, and the beast very quickly got into the range of Dark Redemption. 

"Die to my Dark Arrows!" 

Dark Redemption was in good fighting spirits and released his bowstring. A Dark Arrow, with dark energies spiraling around it, left the bow and struck the forehead of the Metal Skinned Boar King. 

-33! 

A "critical" damage counter appeared, and Li Hanqiang's eyes lit up. 

It was unquestionable that the Metal Skinned King Boar had a high physical defense value, and the arrow tower was unable to overcome it. However Dark Redemption's 'The Dark Arrow' dealt magic damage, so it was not surprising that the skill could deal damage even though the damage itself was still a little ghastly. 

"Haha, I have upgraded The Dark Arrows to Level 2 and it now deals 30 magic damage. Is that damage enough for you?" Dark Redemption hollered in joy. "I even drank a potion so I don't believe I can't kill it." 

"Good luck! It's all up to you!" Li Hanqiang could relax a little and congratulated himself on recruiting a master. 

Dark Redemption's skills were nothing to sneeze at and no arrow was missed. Furthermore, his attack speed was much better than before with the addition of the effects of the low-level Inspiration Potion. Within a short ten seconds, he had unleashed a terrifying barrage of 18 arrows and had dealt nearly 600 points of damage on the Metal Skinned Boar King. 

However, he still had not killed the Metal Skinned Boar King. After 18 arrows, the Metal Skinned Boar King left the attack range of Dark Redemption, leaving a trail of blood and fur behind it. 

"Just a little bit more!" Dark Redemption said, unsatisfied. "Quickly! Light him up with the Arrow Tower." 

Li Hanqiang was now extremely nervous as he kept his eyes locked on the Metal Skinned Boar King. The Basic Arrow Tower's damage output was still continuing. -5, -6 points of damage kept appearing above the Metal Skinned Boar King. 

Just as it seemed like the Metal Skinned Boar King was about to get out of the Arrow Tower's range, it let out a roar and its massive body finally collapsed to the ground. 

Li Hanqiang finally felt the burden on his heart lift and he let out a roar of jubilation in his heart. 

He estimated that in another second or two, the Metal Skinned Boar King would have escaped the Basic Arrow Tower's attack range. Then it would all have been for naught. 

"It's dead!" Dark Redemption sighed in relief as well. 

"Of course. Everything is under control and I had expected this a long while ago. I call this the highest level of manipulation, hahaha!" 

Li Hanqiang shamelessly ran to the spot where the Metal Skinned Boar King died. A treasure chest had appeared and when he opened it, there were two items inside. A Random Defensive Tower Blueprint Fragment and a Fireball. 

"Not bad, not bad!" Li Hanqiang first kept the Random Defensive Tower Blueprint Fragment. Including the fragment he got from the Rapid Development Small Lootbox, he only needed one more to obtain a complete Defensive Tower Construction Blueprint. 

As for Fireball, this was an upgrade gem. One could use it to strengthen a weapon and give it ten fire damage. It also applied the unstackable 'burning' debuff on the target hit, which dealt ten points of damage per second for a duration of ten seconds. 

To Li Hanqiang, the Fireball was useless to him. However, to an adventurer player, it was a highly useful item. If he were to sell it, he could definitely get a good price for it. 

Li Hanqiang rejoiced in his heart and hummed a tune to himself as he returned. 

At this moment the "Horde of Black Boars" were already reaching the border. The two swordsmen, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage, were entirely inadequate and did not rack up many kills. It seemed like he would have to rely on the Basic Arrow Tower and Dark Redemption. 

Each Black Boar had roughly 50 to 60 HP, and the Basic Arrow Tower could kill one with two shots. That was the equivalent to killing one each second. 

Dark Redemption's The Black Arrow had reached Level 2 and it had a formidable damage value. It was more effective than the Defensive Towers, but he also required two arrows to kill one Black Boar. However, the Black Boars that were killed by a Level 2 Black Arrow would turn into a Level 5 Skeleton Warrior. 

The Skeleton Warriors stood on the Corridor of War and did not enjoy the protection of the Chaotic Stone Slab. If they got in the way, they would suffer from the attacks of the Black Boars. However, these Level 5 Skeleton Warriors were much stronger than their Level 1 counterparts. Each of them was 1.8 meters tall and wielded a large bone scimitar. When they used it on the Black Boar, they could kill one with ten attacks. 

Dark Redemption was willing to consume his potions. Low-level Inspiration Potions and low-level Magic Potions were constantly consumed as the Dark Skeleton Arrows were relentlessly fired. In a brief moment, 40 to 50 Skeleton Warriors were spawned and it was a spectacular sight. 

In the Endless World, if a player's level exceeded the monster by five levels, the experience gained after killing one would be halved and no experience would be gained if the level difference was more than ten. 

However, Dark Redemption paid no mind to this, consuming potions as he went and killed the Level 3 Black Boars with wild abandon. 

'Legendary Professions are truly amazing. With Dark Redemption here, not a single Black Boar is going to get away. He's even stronger than a Basic Arrow Tower.' Li Hanqiang could be at ease, but was also contemplating. 

If it were not for Dark Redemption's presence, he would definitely be defeated if he had to purely rely on the Basic Arrow Tower and the two dead weights, Fanning Knight and Fiery Blade Sage.
