23 - Serious Training

There was no air of hesitation between the two facing each other.

“Next up, is control training,” Lulurun said, “don’t hesitate to attack, we can’t do this half-heartedly.”

“Alright, I trust you won’t go easy on me, either, Keisuke,” Rhynes said.

“If I go easy on you, it won’t be a special training, wouldn’t it?”

As Lulurun grins, Rhynes can’t feel any reluctance from her. Rhynes pulls out her sword, takes a breath, and gets into a ready stance.

Overwhelming fighting spirit overflows from Rhynes’ charged body, there was probably no swordsman with such power in this world, even if they overestimated the power of the witches, it seems that she could match it.

However, even with all this power, Rhynes doesn’t feel like she can beat the young girl in front of her, that’s how much of an unfathomable monster Lulurun is in Rhynes’s eyes.

Still, Rhynes was elated at the prospect of confronting an overwhelmingly powerful opponent that she could not beat even if Rhynes did give her all.

“Let’s go!!!!” Rhynes yelled.

She made the first move, kicking off the ground with her lightning-covered feet, leaving a cloud of dust where she left, moving fast like lightning, her already incredible speed enhanced even further by Lazarion.

Lulurun could not react at all at the speed that even ordinary people can’t sense, a flash of light approaches her neck.

“It’s a hit!!!” Rhynes yelled.

“Not so fast,” Lulurun said.

“Huh?!”

Rhynes’ blow seemed certain to connect, but Lulurun’s palm stopped it.

“You blocked it?!”

“As I expected, you’re faster than before, Rhynes,” Lulurun said. “But, you tried to stop just before, didn’t you?”

“That’s,” Rhynes started.

“Your hesitation could not exceed the reaction of my automatic defense spell,” Lulurun said.

“Automatic defense spell?”

“Don’t hold back, is what I’m saying, if anything happens, I’ll be fine,” Lulurun said.

“In that case!!” Rhynes yelled.

She puts all her strength into her blade, a bolt of lightning strikes Lulurun.

“!? You’ve shattered the barrier,” Lulurun said.

""

The lightning strike from Rhynes’s sword destroys the shield deployed from Lulurun’s palm. Rhynes unknowingly applied Lazarion to her weapon, increasing its power alongside her body.

“Twin cast!” Lulurun yelled. “Cladia Akrio.”

“What the?!” Rhynes yelled.

The moment the barrier was destroyed, Lulurun made a twin cast, her original technique of casting two spells at the same time, combining their effects, and sublimating them into a completely different spell.

Lulurun created magic fog, an Ultimate Magic that instantly envelops the area, created from the combination of Kura (fire) and Akuri (water).

“Guh!!”

And the moment the fog was released, Lulurun knocked Rhynes away, Rhynes immediately regained her poise and readied herself for Lulurun’s next attack.

“I’ve never seen anything like that magic…” Rhynes said.

“Akuri,” Lulurun said.

Splash! A giant amount of water fall from above Rhynes’ head.

“Woahpuh!” Rhynes spluttered.

She was unable to take the suddenness of it all and takes the brunt of the attack.

“You have to be careful, that offensive spell just now would mean your loss, you know, Rhynes,” Lulurun said.

“I know that!” Rhynes yelled.

She shakes her head vigorously to get the water out of her hair, then she looks for signs of Lulurun hiding in the fog.

Rhynes does not miss even the slightest sign of her. From her combat experience so far, no matter how well you hide, it would be completely impossible to erase her presence, so Rhynes sharpened her senses, she could always find someone within a radius of 500 meters, however…

She can’t sense any sign of Lulurun. Her presence has completely disappeared.

“How is this possible?” Rhynes asked.

She’s horrified by Lulurun’s power, even if it was just completely erasing her presence.

“She really is incredible…”
