Man of Fiction

Chapter 2:Bonus Story Info: The Technology of MoF

Hello Tamandeggs here!

First, I'd like to thank you for the collections and your views. They have become my fuel of motivation to write this novel. But before we move on with the adventures of Emily, Gareth, and Alaric, I am going to give you another CHAPTER BREAK! Where I talk more about the world surrounding this slice of life story. And today, we are going to talk about the social media in Man of Fiction.

Like I mentioned in my last chapter break, the world of this novel is basically a mirror of this world. The names are altered, the land is much smaller, but the technology, lifestyle, and systems are primarily the same. This also includes their social media! One of their famous platforms is called SoPop! The word, 'Pop' here is obviously short for Popular. So in other words, it's original meaning is called 'So Popular'! SoPop is a derivation of our most-used social media platforms. It's a hybrid of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, where people can post personal pictures, videos, and statuses or thoughts. Just like Facebook, everyone has a friends list, and they can add absolutely anyone, whether it is a celebrity or a close relative. That's why Magda Travey can easily access photos of the actors from The Sorority Girl. There's also a messaging system in SoPop, as well. Is it possible for them to message their favorite actors? Of course, but I'm assuming since they are so popular that they get more than a hundred fan messages a day. So I do not think they can answer them all, right away.

There are also other online platforms like TubeSpace, which is basically an equivalent of Youtube. There is also FlickHome an online streaming site for movies and TV shows, sounds familiar? Finally, there is the Green Card App. In this world, everyone has an all-in-one electrical wallet called the Green Card, where a certain amount of money can be stored. That's right. This card does not really contain their entire bank account, just for safety purposes. Citizens of Agapen can only input a limited amount in their cards. The Green Card has it's very own online platform, where everyone can keep tabs of the money withdrawn inside. Every card comes with a code, and anyone who has access to the code can only send money. The code is also considered the identification number of the Green Card. WIth this card, everyone can easily pay the expected amount with just one tap of their card. So...I guess there's no such thing as change and pennies in this world? Perhaps there used to be, but I'm not sure…
