Lucky Star

Chapter 6 - I'LL ACCEPT....

"That is even better things like this should be decided face to face and not on call." De Xi said in a calm and understanding tone.

"Also..." Mother Mu did not know how to continue so she looked at her husband for help.

"They said that all the five families will be here as the kids are having their summer break as well, so it would serve them as a vacation as well." Father Mu completed his wife in a calm manner, keenly scrutinizing De Xi's reaction.

"The Elders wish that all the younger ones can stay together, here in the De Mansion." Mother Mu added the last part which shocked even Father Mu let alone the other three.

"I will have Aunt Melan cleaned up the rooms, how many of them will be here?" De Xi asked in a calm tone, after quickly recovering from her shock.

Looking at her calm and unfazed expression, the husband and wife duo were oddly disappointed and relieved at the same time but did not show it to others.

"I don't think so there will be a need for that Father, we are all busy, staying in Rome, and working in Paris won't work." Mu Cong immediately refused the idea to stay under one roof with the ones coming from China.

"Then what about Mu Mansion in Paris? Xi'er you can work from Paris right?" Mother Mu asked hurriedly.

"No Mother, it is not a good idea and it also won't be convenient." Mu Chang denied the request quickly.

"It won't be an inconvenience, they can stay here. Cong, work from Rome for a month it won't be a problem." De Xi said as she smiled reassuringly towards Father and Mother Mu, while silently warning Mu Cong to not speak any further.

"So you agree to it?" Mother Mu asked, her eyes lightening up at the thought of it.

"Yes." De Xi smiled softly and chuckled in amusement as Mother Mu's face bloomed up in joy, like a five-year-old receiving their much-wanted candy.

"Then it is settled that they will stay here till everything about the wedding is sorted out." Father Mu said in a tone of finality, with an affectionate smile directed towards his wife and De Xi.

"Aunt Melan, please have the guest rooms cleaned and equip it with all the necessary things." De Xi said calmly.

Head Butler Melan who just entered the living room with tea and snacks nodded her head in understanding.

"I will have it arranged, Young Miss." Head Butler Melan replied in a respectful tone.

"Aunt, by when are they coming over?" De Xi asked as she remembered something.

"They should be here by tonight or tomorrow morning." Mother Mu answered, deep in thoughts.

De Xi nodded and picked up her teacup as she took a sip of the soothing chamomile tea.

When everyone was enjoying the tea in peace and comfortable silence, De Xi's mobile started ringing.

De Xi looked at the caller id and looked at others apologetically as she stood up and went out of the living room.

She accepted the call, while she made her way through the hallways, which led her to the back garden of the mansion.

"Good Morning, President. As per your instructions, I have cleared the following week of your schedule." a crisp professional voice came through call.

After completing her report Cheng Jiu then waited silently for any further orders from her President.

"Push forward all my schedule." De Xi said in a calm tone devoid of any emotions.

"But President, aren't you supposed to spend the next week with Little Young Miss as per her request?" Cheng Jiu, De Xi's Executive Secretary asked in confusion and uncertainty.

"Change of plans." De Xi said curtly.

Understanding that her President did not intend to elaborate the reason, Cheng Jiu accepted the orders disconnected the call after briefing her President about few other things.

After De Xi was done with the call, she sighed and looked at the beautifully designed flower garden and thoughtfully planned tree formation in front of her.

"Eva, are you done with the call?" Mu Cong's voice came from behind.

De Xi slowly looked at Mu Cong, with a small smile on her face as she nodded her head. Mu Cong walked towards her calmly at a steady pace.

He then crossed the bridge built across the river leading to the other side of the river where a vast expanse of Olive and oak trees were visible as far as the eyes could see.

"Why did you agree to Father and Mother's request?" Mu Cong asked calmly but annoyance and frustration were clear on his face.

De Xi chuckled softly but calmly walked beside Mu Cong. She quietly enjoyed the surrounding scenery, which soothed her heart effectively.

"I asked something Eva." Mu Cong once again reminded De Xi about his unanswered question.

"How long will I avoid them and 'him'? I avoided them for seven years, which is already a miracle, but now I'm tired of this hide & seek game." De Xi answered calmly, with a heavy sigh at the end.

"Why suddenly this change of heart?" Mu Cong asked in shock and disbelief.

"This is not sudden. Little Princess is already seven. How long will we hide her from the world? So this is just the best opportunity for me." De Xi explained helplessly, her heart heavy with emotions and questions which she might never be able to answer.

"What about Little Princess? Did you consider her feelings? For seven years there was no father in her life and suddenly you bring one into her life along with a hell lot of family and friends, did you think about her?" Mu Cong asked after a moment of silence and hesitation.
