Love's Got a Hold of My Heart

Chapter 8:CHAPTER 8: THAT FACE

I walked my path back to the school where I was on duty since it is Wednesday. I did not expect that I met Macy again for how many years. I still remember that time it was my senior year when she disappears few months before the end of the school year.

I asked my sister Shay about her why I have not seen her in school or even visiting in our house. And she said that she moved to her grandmother's house for some illness or something. That was the last time I seen her.

I did not even expect that she is back now and my sister never mentioned her to me. Well, why should be my sister tell me about Macy? First of all, we were not that close of course Shay will never share such information about her best friend. I chuckled, walking like a crazy person towards the clinic.

I arrived in the clinic my daughter was already awake smiling at me as she saw the box in my hand. Her smiled made my heart bigger, knowing that she really love that strawberry bread and not just that bread but also the person who baked it.

We went home after my duty and had a dinner with my parents with a little chatting before retiring to each bed.

I tucked in first for my little princess to her bed. "Daddy, did you see Ms. Jane when you were in the bakeshop? She asked looking at me.

"Yes, I did and I knew her long time ago and her name is Macy your Aunt Shayla's best friend." I said.

"Really, Daddy, they were best friend. I really like her dad and she is pretty too."

I saw again my daughter's eyes sparkling when she admired Macy. "Yeah, baby, I heard you for the first time when you met her. Okay, now go to sleep, school tomorrow." I said as I pulled the blanket up to her chest.  "Goodnight, little princess, I love you." And I kissed her cheeks.

"Goodnight too daddy, I love you too."

I turned off her lights and went to my room. I grabbed my phone from the night stand and scrolled the name I wanted to call.

My daughter was right Macy is really pretty. She is more gorgeous as she gets older. That face.

I started to recall, I first saw her walking confidently. That face, I always saw when she was with my sister.

That face, I always saw in our house mostly every day. That face, I always liked to look at when we were in school. That face, who smile beautifully and friendly to all. That face, that I cannot forget.
