Love's Got a Hold of My Heart

Chapter 10:CHAPTER 10: SOMETHING PERSONAL

SHANE

I tried to stop myself not to call her but I could not help it. My heart will always beat strangely whenever I saw her even before. I am not teenager anymore I loved my wife I did feel something to her when I first laid my eyes on her but with Macy it was more than that.

She makes me feel like Jelly-O I think this time I need to make a move because we are adults now and not some high school students anymore.

I dialled her number when I search her name in my phone contacts, few rings she answers.

"Hello" I heard her voice on the other line.

"Hi, did I wake you up?" I asked but nervously. "Are you busy?"

"No, I just finished doing my night routine. So what's up?" she asked.

"Oh, nothing much just a little chatting if it is okay with you." I bite my lips and crossed my fingers hoping that she will like to talk to me.

I heard her sighed. "Okay, why not? What do you want to talk about?"

"What about why you disappear all of the sudden in your high school life?" I asked for starter. I know it has been in my head all throughout the years. I was interested about her ditching high school before the school year ends at that time.

I did not hear her voice but I heard her breathing. "Well, something personal came up and I do not have a choice." She replied with a sigh.

"Was this about your grandma's illness? That was I know about when I asked Shay about you." I said slowly laying in my bed.

"No, it was something else and that I cannot really tell you, not now maybe someday when I am ready." She said and I can sense that there is something wrong. "Tell me about your life, your wife, everything you have been. It shocked me that you were once married and take note in college."

"Weird isn't it? Me too, I did not expect but it was not love at first thing if that what you mean." I began telling my life in college.

"It was not?" she asked.

"No, only one person that I felt love at first sight but that person got away." I confessed.

"Huh!

"What I mean was what I felt my wife back them was love too. We were partners in most every class. She was really nice and kind and I could not say anything bad things about her." I said hearing her breath.

"Then we feel in love and got serious a year before graduation. She got pregnant without waiting too long we married that summer. We had so many plans building our family but..." I paused for a while thinking about my wife when I saw her laying in the operating room.

"Yeah, yeah." I mumbled. I looked at the clock it was nine o'clock in the evening. "Would you like to meet me now and grab some coffee or something? We will not take too long I know we have work tomorrow and..." she replied to me immediately before I finished my sentence.

"Okay!" I heard her say okay.

"Really, you do not mind?" I asked again

"Yes, I do not mind and besides my ear numb talking to you on the phone." I heard her laughed.

I laughed too. "Be there in 15 minutes I am in front of bakeshop."

"See you then."
