Sector eighteen, Imar nine, Astragali city, Seven

We are finally here, planet Imar nine.

After three long hectic months of world building -Gorgola's colonization- we are finally setting foot on the second planet on our list.

We landed the ship, paid the necessary fees and walked out of the port.

Compared to Gram city on Rooster this place was… let's just say inhuman. The moment you step out the door you are met with a lively road filled with creatures you can actually call aliens. I caught sight of skins of every color on the spectrum, body types that aren't remotely human and sounds I've never heard before.

The city itself was nothing I have seen before. If I had to describe it somehow I would say it's the result of putting a bunch of strangers on the same minecraft server and ask them to create random shit. Some of the buildings looked like the construction stopped halfway through then a completely different person just started working on a new design right on top of the old one.

It was a mess, but still looked well maintained. The roads were clean and maybe because it's still daytime, the light pollution seemed to be at minimum.

All in all, it had an upper class vibe rather than the pirate hangout spot I thought it to be.

'So, how many?'

'I count five… six' Iris, pretending to climb on a billboard above the port entrance, surveyed the area around us.

'One is shamelessly looking our way, probably thinks we won't notice from this distance. Two are standing behind some vehicle, they're being extremely cautious, I think they are pros'

Iris pointing out the suspicious individuals lurking between the crowd. The main target was of course me, who's somewhat of a big personality in most of the known universe. From the information Aley brought in it seems my fame has yet to take off, my face isn't that well known. Nevertheless, that didn't mean there aren't people out there who would recognize me.

Just like how the Verta clan learned about us heading to Rooster, the news of our trip to Imar nine probably reached the black market even before we left Gorgola.

I subdued the clan then crushed several other pirate groups, that was enough to put a price on my head. Then there is my wallet. A lot of foolish bastard probably got it in their heads that they could get away with it. However, there are some rather clueless people everywhere you go. Those who didn't know who I was nor what fortune I held and just targeted me and my group because we were new in the town.

Such was the sixth person Iris noticed, a blue blob with small eyes and unsightly teeth. He was the first to move. They say ignorance is a bless, but considering how painful the armored first to his face he got as he reached for my pocket was, knowing better didn't seem like a bad thing.

"… Lilia…" I couldn't help but sigh "could you hold back a little?"

"Eh?..." noticing what she just did Lilia began apologizing "sorry! I didn't mean to! It was a reflex! I thought he was about to stab you and…"

I was actually happy to see her use the gauntlets I bought for her. Lilia seem to like them too, a perfect gift compared to a normal wedding ring.

'why do I feel like this happened before…' Iris look at the blue blob buried into the billboard she just climbed on.

'Isn't that one of those guys we met on Rooster?'

'The Yashoudi, right?'

'Is pickpocketing their trade or something?'

Just like on rooster, a blue blob tried to steal from us and just like the first time the thief earned himself a punch from Lilia who was on high alert. This time it was because she is the only body guard I brought along, I fear she would pummel anyone who approaches me without asking questions.

The police came out, I showed them the black card I got from the governor and explained the situation after which they left us alone not asking too much. We could've used Lilia's status as a Zesionien warrior like the first time, but I stepped forth to deal with the issue in order to assert dominance as the group leader.

That thought seemed to tickle Iris's funny bone as she laughed at my honest effort to stand up for myself and those under my wing. I already decided I wouldn't stay the irresponsible coward who hides behind a façade, I must gain as much experience as I could even with small things such as this.

The black card didn't really have an established authority like Lilia's warrior identity, but holding one meant you have contacts in high places and a simple police officer wouldn't bother to investigate you any further.

The blob guy was arrested and by the time it was done we had a lot of eyes looking our way.

"Anyways, captain" Logan turned on his heels "I'm going back for now. I will send Blue when she wakes up so don't forget to tell me your location"

"Wouldn't it be dangerous to let a little girl out alone? Especially in such a location?" obviously I was concerned about my little cat-girl's safety. This city reeks of perversion and a creature as cute as her would surely catch someone's eyes.

"You don't have to worry. Blue already knows her way around Astragali, we've been here many times before coming to Rooster"

"No!" My firm refusal pushed Logan a step back "tell her to wait for us. If she gets impatient then being her yourself!"

"… understood…" still shocked by my seriousness toward the subject Logan walked back to the ship.

Maybe that was too much. My overprotective father instinct would never allow a ten years old looking kid to wonder around alone in such a big city. You don't know were those alien pedos might be lurking.

'There is one standing right here, if you ask me'

'Hey, that's really harsh you know'

'and didn't the furry guy tell you she was thirteen?'

'She sure is small for a thirteen year old' she's too thin, and didn't weight much 'let's make a mental note to feed her well'

'That aside, it seems no one in the crowd noticed my presence'

'Is that so?'

'should I try flying around and see? That would surely be more eye catching than climbing buildings'

'Well, I doubt a lot of people are aware of their position as candidates so…' she would be passed for a ghost again.

' what do you plan on doing when you find those candidates?'

'There are twelve mythical beasts, right?'

'…o~h! I get it now'

It's just a theory, but the likelihood of it being true is high. I have yet to find the book Lilia said she read about the mythical beasts in and I was too busy to get the research done. The whole matter smelled like trouble, things like this don't have simple ends.

'just as stand users attract other stand users… right?'

'Yep'

Hir said he felt Verta's presence even when he was a few sectors away. That was due to the massive energy surge the beast released after I accidentally freed it.

If he was able to feel then others did as well. There are the candidates, then there are the beasts themselves. However those I'm worried about the most are people like me, the hosts.

'It sounds farfetched you know, why are you so sure it would end up in a fight?'

'Many reasons, but there is no was an epic battle wouldn't happen when two superpowered individuals meet'

'you're eager for a fight huh? What happened to the peaceful non violent Seven?'

'gone, alongside my v-card'

To be frank I think I enjoyed beating Hir way too much. The adrenalin coursing through my veins, the impacts on my fists, the feeling of absolute strength. I used to laugh when I saw some battle crazed characters but I might end up as one in the future.

'You're just drunk on power that's all' looking at me with serious eyes Iris said what I assumed is a warning 'you do you, just be careful not to lose alright?'

'… alright'

I don't want it to come back and bit me in the a.s.s after all. But even if I took the peaceful way when dealing with this someone seeking to harm me and my people would appear. So in order to be mentally prepared for such events I need to hurry and gain experience, not losing is part of my job now.
