Sector twenty one, Gorgola's orbit, Tiga one

"… lord Seven, just to be sure…" Ginger stared at Seven with doubtful eyes "you're bot using this as an excuse to dodge your responsibilities, right?"

"What are you talking about, G? This is a diplomatic trip, we have to meet our would be allies and strengthen the cooperative relations between our planets!"

Of course, all of that was a load of bullcrap.

"It takes about ten days to reach Imar nine, right?" He said as he navigated the hologram spawning from his book "let's put the date for the meeting two days after we arrive, twelve days from now then"

"Lord Seven…. No" Ginger saw through the serious act Seven tries to pull and shut him down instantly.

"What do you mean no?" Seven's shoulders dropped as he asked Ginger that question, whoever the answer didn't come from his official personal advisor.

"You are that much of an idiot.. to not understand" a low voice accompanied by a long yawn joined the conversation, except only one person is able to hear it.

'Hey, you're finally awake-'

"Spare me your memes… I'm not in the mood" Iris manifested out of thin air, stretching her limbs as her tail straightened up.

'you don't have a bed so I doubt you woke up on the wrong side' Seven said, telepathically 'should I ask?'

Iris stared at him for a moment "you really want to know" the irritation in her voice grew with each word. She stood on top of the desk, spread her legs to shoulder length, crossed her arms in front of her nonexistent c.h.e.s.t and looked down on him with really pissed off eyes "tell me, O great lord Seven, ruler of planet Gorgola and leader of the Verta clan"

'…what?'

"How would you feel if you were trapped in a room you can't leave were some godforsaken pervert was f.u.c.k.i.n.g your best friend and all you could do is close your eyes and cover your ears?"

'but we didn't do anything…'

"and.how.would.I.know?" Iris stumped her feet multiple times but didn't make any sound "you expect me to wait until you start stripping before I disappear? You don't even bother calling me when you're done!!"

'you say that but you were asleep all along'

"You still arguing with me?" Iris held her right hand up "you want to get slapped by your own hand?"

'… not now' Seven sighed. What would the other two think of him if he suddenly started hitting himself? He didn't want to know.

"G, I think you understand the importance of such meetings, right?" back to the conversation, Seven was attempting to convince Ginger to let them go.

He didn't really need his permission, Seven is the highest authority on Gorgola after all. But Seven didn't know much about the universe and how it works, that's where they needed someone's advice, someone who's been constantly traveling and has a really good intuition.

Seven came to learn how accurate Ginger's predictions are. He trusted he would know what to do And how to do it right, so when he told him they can't go, then they can't.

"we don't have much of anything to do at the moment but that doesn't mean we have time to waste" Ginger sighed, slowly shaking his head "even if you limit your stay there to three days you're still spending twenty days on the move. And knowing you, lord Seven, this trip would probably be extended to a month in case you get into trouble"

"C'mon, we dealt with everything at hand right?" Ginger had the higher ground here, he was using logic. Seven had no argument strong enough to use, so all he did was sulk.

"For now. Which means you can't be away for too long"

"In the first place isn't sending representative the go to move in this scenario?" Iris seemed to sober little by little, her anger fading as she sat on the desk scratching behind her ears.

'And were do we get one?'

They've just built their first settlement. Beside the normal civilians who were with the clan pretty much everyone else is a battle scared space pirate. That made it really hard to establish a normal government. Sending out former gang members to speak for your planet would probably paint the wrong idea. They have the female Herara who, for the most part, look more civilized than their Male counterparts, but they still lack the education needed for the job.

If you want something done right, do it yourself. At least in case you screw up you would deserve the blame you get.

"Hmm…" crossing his fingers in front of his face Seven searched desperately for an excuse to convince Ginger to let him go -again, he doesn't exactly need his permission-

"Hello everyone! How are you doing!"

"…Aley, you already back"

"Yes I am back!"

The one coming in was Rajol Aley, a synthetic being with the appearance of a human male. Even though Seven despised his handsome face and the smile constantly painted on it the two became closer after Aley offered to help them join the union.

"Any news?" Ginger asked

"Sadly I don't have a lot" Aley shook his head with an exaggerated sigh "Hir, the former clan head, will be released in a few days"

"Good to hear" Seven said "how much would it take for him to return?"

"The fifteenth sector is rather far you know, if no trouble arises he should be here in a month"

"A month huh"

"you paid his bill right? Why are they still keeping him?" Iris asked

'Unlike the rest of the members Hir is held responsible for every crime the clan ever committed'

"so?"

'the laws apply differently in his case. A minimum one month in prison is required before he could be bailed out'

"That doesn't make any sense…"

'sometimes that's the way things work'

"uh-oh! What's this I'm seeing here?" Aley blinked several times "Mr.Seven, are you by any chance planning to visit Imar nine?"

"Well, not exactly"

"is that so? My next job takes me there, I was thinking maybe I could show you around…"

"that would be great" Seven smiled a worn out smile "if only I could convince my trusted advisor to agree with me going"

"again, my lord, I can't do that" Ginger denied him again.

"I think it's about time you tell him to stop calling you that" Iris said, holding her shuddering body "I can't handle the cringe anymore"

'Well, I can always have them add sama to my name'

"F.u.c.k.i.n.g weeb"

'Is it just me or is did your mouth get dirtier?'

"Your imagination"

Iris is clearly pissed at Seven. She said she didn't like how intimate he was getting with his wife, which is true. But what she isn't telling him is that with memories of bed activities fresh in his mind she lost the ability to look around in his mind. Iris doesn't want to accidentally open a recording of her friend getting boned, that might mentally break her.

"Aley, do you have any info on Imar's governor?" Seven asked as he passed the letter he received to the synth.

"Hmm… this is rare" Aley hummed and nodded his head as he read through the paper "you don't see something like this very often"

"If they wanted to send an invitation, couldn't they just call?"

"Thank you" although he can't consume the steaming hot liquid Aley took the cup Lilia gave him with a smile and sat on one of the chairs Seven brought our from beneath the floor.

After taking a sip the conversation resumed with the blue haired synth's explanation

"There are many ways to do send a formal invitation, but a messenger would be the best option"

"So we aren't worth one?"

"About that" putting down his now empty cup Ginger spoke "they sent one, actually. The one who delivered the box wasn't A normal delivery worker"

Tapping on the desk Lilia summoned a small window, choosing one of the options it listed to bring out a hologram. She searched the security footage for the one Ginger was talking about.

"that's him" Ginger pointed at the image Lilia froze.

"Is that…. A Zesionien?" Lilia seemed a bit surprised.

"his skin sure is dark" Seven zoomed on the guy's face "I knew you had those but… this is the first time I've seen one"

'come to think of it, we never met any on Rooster' remembering the statue they saw at the central park, he started to recall the story he heard

"Gram the traitor…. The warrior banished from Zesion long ago?" Iris tilted her head in confusion.

'they named the only city on the planet after him, I thought there would be more of his kind there, yet…'

"Interesting…" Aley nodded his head again.

Seven turned to Ginger with an obvious question

"And where is our guest right now?" he suspected this to be the reason Ginger was upset about the barely existing odor he claimed to smell.

"He left as soon as we confirmed the safety of the package"

"you should've kept him around, we could've extracted some information from him"

"Don't say such easily misleading words, Mr.Seven" Aley laughed "he left because there was no need for him to stay"

"maybe extract wasn't the right way to describe it huh…"

"Anyways" returning the letter Aley gave his opinion on the matter "I advise that you accept the invitation"

"The reason?" Ginger raised an eyebrow.

"This letter was hand written as you can see, Probably by the governor himself. He went to the trouble of doing this, so he probably has something important to discuss, something other than cooperative relations"

"something personal?...."

"probably"

This was the excuse Seven was looking for all along. He clinched his right fist under the desk while stopping the winning grin from showing on his face.

"Then it's decided" clearing his throat Seven announced once more "we are heading out tomorrow. Just in case, I will put Gorgola on lockdown"

Ginger appeared to have another argument but instead he sighed in defeat

"I will call some troops from the surface"

"I don't think body guards are necessary"

"They are for the station" Ginger scratched the back of his neck with visible irritation "the lady will be enough as a guard, we have to defend this place while you're gone"

Seven didn't need any protection to begin with. Anyone who might recognize him as Gorgola's owner would surely be aware of his reputation as the mythical beast Verta, only uninformed fools would ever attempt to anger a being that could decimate entire planets.

"With that said, let's start the preparation" Seven was clearly overjoyed to finally have the chance to dodge his job and fool around a little. Clapping his hands twice he gave his orders "G, call Imar and make the appointment twelve days from now. Lilia, tell Logan to prepare the ship. We are sailing tomorrow"

"Fine…"

"Okay!"

Compared to Lilia who left the room with a cheerful expression, Ginger seemed to be too eager to get back to his bed.

With the two having left the room only Seven and Aley sat there drinking their coffee. Seven sipped from his cup until it was empty. he placed it on the desk, summoned the option window and locked the door.

"And? Did you find what I asked for?" the atmosphere changed. Seven's tone seemed different than what it was minutes ago.

"I'm sad to say I couldn't find much" Aley downed his cup and put it aside "as I said before, there are hundreds of records. Each race focused on its own part of the war and not much about the others"

"did you find any inconsistencies? I doubt the real story was passed if there are so many iterations"

"I've yet to obtain the records from many of the closed plants, I will be sure to report any findings"

About three months ago, when Seven learned the truth about earth and the war that caused it's destruction a few things sounded odd for him.

From what he was told the Aljus empire was a very technologically advanced civilization. The cryostasis chambers they found in the lab on Gorgola appeared to have been old Aljus artifacts, which he found rather suspicious.

The lab was clearly constructed by humans. Putting aside the question of how they did get their hands on the technology, Seven wanted to know what they were planning to use whatever they were making for.

He concluded that the only acceptable theory is that he is himself from back on earth, both mind and body. He didn't die, in other words.

For some reason the humanoid lizards that invaded them saved his life -after shooting him in the guts- then used their technology to preserve his body. He didn't know the reason why but looking at how there were multiple freezers it's easier to say he wasn't that special of a case.

If the Aljus empire went to the trouble of saving a few hundred humans before trying to wipe out the rest they wouldn't just give them up too early into the war. The surviving humans must have acquired the chambers, along many other things from the Aljus after it's defeat in the war three thousand years ago, and there lies the problem.

Who was it that did the experimentation on Seven, turning him to a living weapon?

Was it the Aljus? If so why didn't they use him and the others to win the war?

Or was it the humans? If that was the case then they were planning something even after the great war ended.

It is the second guess that bothered Seven the most. The male human population going extinct may not be a direct result of the great war, after all they had the means to reproduce and even a few humans from the old generation to help with the process.

The real reason might be completely different but Seven geared the one possibility that stood out the most.

The human males going extinct when humanity had a means to survive for the next three thousand years could only mean one thing

They were exterminated by their own, by the one they were trying to protect.

"I plan to visit the Tananin when in the near future, maybe someone who's been through the war is still around" said Aley.

"fine, as we agreed on I will be paying all your traveling expenses, as long as you bring back something interesting"

Seven was more than twelve thousand years old. Aley called him a living relic, but that didn't mean his age determined his value, but the fact that he hailed from the third sector. From what he was told there are many creatures with long life spans, the Tananin who live at the edge of the thirty fifth sector and the Jin who inhabit the forth sector are known to live as long as twenty thousand years. Both races weren't part of the intergalactic union so it was hard to get hold of one of them.

"And how about the other thing?"

"I asked around and it seems to be working" Aley answered with his usual smile your name is spreading, but when asked about you the answer would be either a synth with unimaginable power or the mythical beast Verta"

"Good, as long as the fact that I'm human stays a secret"

Humans were easily recognized, probably due to their achievements in the great war. For the time being Seven wanted to stay out of the human empire's radar while he moved around, until he knew for sure he knows for sure what happened.

"Anyways, better get some rest before the trip"
