Sector nineteen

"Eh?" Lilia couldn't help but be surprised "a ghost… you say?"

"Un…" Blue nodded once, feeling a bit anxious.

She just told another person that she saw a ghost, something hard to believe when an a.d.u.l.t says it let alone when it's a child.

" this… ghost, what does it look like?" Whether she believed her or not wasn't what's important, that's what Lilia had though. Making Blue feel like she could trust her was important, so listening to what she had to say was the right course of action.

Blue's eyes opened wide, her face filled with joy

"She is a little short, has blue hair, and wears a blue dress'

'she?...' Lilia posed to think 'is this ghost… female?' she suddenly felt an ache in her heart, repeating the things the little cat-girl told her

"A little short, has blue hair and wears a blue dress…" Lilia murdered to herself 'A ghost with those descriptions… could it be… Iris?'

The smile disappeared from her face and a chill ran down her spine. Blue noticed the change in Lilia's expression, making her feel uneasy herself

"By the way, Blue, this ghost… does this ghost happen to have horns like mine?" she lowered her head a little, giving Blue a better look of her sheep like horns.

Blue looked at her dumbfounded, tilting her head a little and asking "horns? She didn't have any"

"Is… is that so?" Lilia almost let out a sigh of relief

"Un!" Blue nodded, leaning forward before saying "after all she looked like a female Herara"

"A female Herara?"

"Un, she had ears and a tail just like mine, that makes her a female Herara"

'That's strange… I don't remember Seven ever saying anything about another female Herara'

she doesn't remember meeting any other than Blue, and the two of them were always together even since they left Gorgola, which only leads to one conclusion

'Does this ghost have something to do with Seven's past?' Lilia no longer doubted what she was told by the little cat-girl.

"Do you think Seven knows about this ghost?"

At Lilia's question, Blue shook her head

"um… I saw her talk to him, but Seven never responded, I don't think he can see or hear her…"

Being scared makes sense now. A ghost that continues to speak to someone who can't see or hear her, what would have happened if she noticed that Blue knows about her?

"Blue, let's keep it a secret for now" Lilia said, sounding as serious as she could "I will ask Seven about it when I find the right time, I want you to pretend that you don't see that ghost"

…..

Seven was weird to begin with. The thought had acquired to her a few times before, he was always spacing out or doing things she couldn't understand. Most of his memories were lost, he doesn't even know his real name. That opens space for speculation, he might have had a connection to the Herara that he didn't know and knowing he had a thing for their females, could that ghost be someone he knew before? Someone so close to him to stay by his side even after so long?

Things weren't at their best between Lilia and Seven.

He has been acting strange in the days before they left Rooster, and they barely spent time alone ever since that one night at the hotel, he even insisted that the two should sleep in separate rooms.

That brought worry to Lilia's heart, that she made a mistake and Seven no longer had the intention to stay with her.

In the past three days they talked less and less, mainly because she stayed in her room reading while Seven was training, but neither tried to approach the other when no one was around. the thing with Lisa happened out of nowhere, then they got caught inside this mess just when she began to think things were turning for the better.

Their relationship went through so much when not even a month had passed since they got together, and Lilia started to doubt she was ready for what's to come.

Of course, she doesn't plan on giving up any time soon. She already made her mind to be with Seven even if it meant never getting to build a normal family.

Becoming Seven's wife, she made that decision back when she thought the two of them would be stuck on that godforsaken planet, just to find out they were going to leave it soon. Even though they were of different species they were still a male and a female stranded in a place no one could reach, and though she didn't notice it every time, she knew Seven showed clear signs of attraction toward her. She expected that "that" would happen at some point as they spent their days together, that's why she wanted to make things clear, just in case.

Maybe that was rash decision on her part, and although Seven would have understood if she talked to him about it, she had no good reason to end their marriage shortly after it happened.

Staying with Seven was the first major decision she made on her own after Iris left her. Returning to Zesion was meaningless, pressing on wasn't going to be easy, and having someone she could rely on, someone she could lean on when she is weak, someone strong and fearless, who would stand up for her when the need arises.

Someone she…

"Lilia!" hearing a voice calling her name, Lilia snapped back into reality.

'I… I did it again…' she put a hand on her forehead and let out a sigh. Looking around she realized she had stopped at the ship entrance, drowning herself in thoughts rather than hurrying to support Seven 'what am I doing?'

She turned to blood at the one who called for her. It was the little girl with blue hair and cat-like tail and ears, running her way with something in her hands.

"What's wrong, Blue?" Lilia tried her best to smile, pushing back the thoughts she had moments ago.

"un, Lilia, this!..." Blue handed her a small white box.

Lilia looked back and forth between the box and blue "um…" she didn't know what to say.

"un, It's that thing Seven always wears, the one that covers his hand when he fights"

'Is she talking about the Glassume gauntlets Seven usually use? But...'

"un, They took your weapon right? That's why you don't have your spear" Blue glanced at the blaster in Lilia's hand "I found it in Seven's room, I thought you could take it to him…"

'Did Blue make some mistake?' Lilia was sure their equipment was confiscated after they were caught, and she didn't remember there was a spare where he got the first one.

'Ah! That's right…' before they left Rooster Seven had ordered something from Jar, the weapon dealer who got her her new spear. When she asked him about it he told her it was a secret, and it slipped her mind since then.

"so that's what it was…" Lilia murmured as she opened the box, not knowing why he didn't just tell her.

Her eyes opened to their utmost, and she fell silent.

"…Lilia?"

A moment steam exploded from her head, her face blushing into a brilliant shade of red.

"Lilia? What's wrong?"

Blue was tugging on her dress. the dramatic change in Lilia's expression startles the little cat-girl.

"Um… uh… Blue…" an awkward smile forming on her lips "did… did Seven tell you to give this to me?"

"um… no, he didn't tell me to…"

"R-really? W-well… this is…"

'THIS IS BAD!!!!' Lilia began to blush even harder 'what should I do? what should I do? what should I do? what should I dooo!!!?'

She closed the box tightly, then looked at the little girl by her side

'she knew so… she must have taken a look inside…' Lilia was panicking, and so was Blue 'no, she can't read Zesionien, there is no way she would know…'

Lilia patted Blue on the head, then peeked inside the box one more time

Will you marry me?

That one sentence. It was the first thing she noticed when she looked inside the first time. Written by hand in Zesionien on a small paper pinned to the lid.

'This is why' Lilia realized 'this is why he kept it a secret!!!'

She understood now. Although things were awkward between them, Seven was working on a way to fix the problem. Even after she rejected him that night, he was already working on a way to make up with her.

He was preparing a surprise for her. The color is different but those bracers were a perfect copy of the ones he uses, meaning they are made of pure Glassume. He got an extremely expensive item and was waiting for the right time. She didn't know when he was planning to do it but…

'he was going to propose to me!!!' just thinking about it made her temperature raise, her heart pounding violently 'w-what should I do!? I'm really happy right now but… I ruined it all!'

Lilia's mind conveniently left out the part about her proposing to him first and that the two of them are technically a married couple by her people's standards.

She felt overwhelming happened and at the same time was embarrassed that she ruined such an important event.

'Wait! I still don't know whether he intended it this way or not…' Lilia tried to think rationally 'he did succeed either way right? There is no way I would have expected this, I was taken completely off guard!'

The surprise factor was really high, but that didn't mean this was his plan, and it didn't mean it was a success either.

But that didn't matter at all, Lilia was drunk on happiness right now. she didn't forget what kind of situations they were in, but she could no longer feel the hostility toward their enemy like before.

The battle was no longer one of her concerns, Right now all she wanted now was to see Seven and tell him her answer.

"Blue, I have to go now" Lilia spoke, her voice filled with excitement and joy "you know what to do right?"

Blue didn't know what was really going on, but seeing Lilia's bashful smile she was reassured that everything was going to be fine.

"un, be careful!" she said, waiving at Lilia as she walked out of the ship "Good luck"

Lilia waited the entrance was closed before she started to run. Her face was red, and couldn't erase her smile.

At the moment, this was the happiest she's ever been.
