I Am Undying

9 Wish Contrac

With his confident smile, Nathan flicked his fingers and a blazing fire flared out of nowhere and a piece of paper appeared. The process was like a paper burning into ashes but instead in reverse, a fire creating a paper with a flick of his fingers.

Rin squinted his eyes, unable to react. Only after a few seconds did he asked, "…How did you do that?"

Nathan casually handed the paper to Rin while saying, "Ask later."

"…" Rin just thought that it is some awesome trick or a gadget of some sort, he didn't actually have a clear thought about it but he definitely would ask later. The paper seems more important.

He sat up and took the paper in Nathan's hand which he gladly gave.

Rin read the words on the paper. It has a cursive font and comfortable to read:

| Wish Contract

This is a form of contract that will allow you to exchange wishes that will, by this contract's laws, will come to reality.

The Contracter will be given the greatest thing that the Contractee have. While the Contractee can wish anything from the Contracter.

Requirement:

1)Must be signed by the Contractee to take an effect.

2)The Contracter must have a title of a God |

"…." Rin once again squinted his eyes that was full of doubt, not understanding whatever on yhe paper says, "What??"

"Oh and there is an absolute and unwritten rule there. Force is forbidden so feel free to think about it. You have the choice here." Nathan added while acting like he's quick witted.

Rin looked around and asked, "Is this serious??" He was almost sure that this some kind of a prank. If not for the "trick" he saw earlier, he would've thought that this is just Nathan messing with him. If that kind of effects were added, then this must be a tv show… this was Rin's thoughts.

"Hmm, I don't blame you for being that doubtful. I mean, a stranger just showed up beside you after you woke up and then gave you a contract like that. Ahaha good thing, I know some of the human's common sense or I will seriously be irritated by you not understanding this.", Nathan laughed.

Rin felt the creeps and got scared by this man who speak like he was not a human. His sunken eyes was trembling while he heavily breathed as he asked, "Se-seriously, who are you?!", although his voice was still a bit weak, it was said in a loudest voice he could muster.

"Didn't I introduced myself already? I said that I am Nathan but you could call me Lucy. I am comfortable with any of the two."

Rin's face tightened, "You know that's not what I mean! Y-you are definitely suspicious!"

Rin stared at Nathan and suddenly felt heavy, "Ughh!!!", he felt something unexplainable. He saw Nathan just standing there without doing anything but he felt some mysterious power flooding out of this man, pressuring his own body.

The world was shaking in Rin's eyes. Rin have the urge to bow down in front of this man. He didn't felt any holiness or something majestic. He felt was fear. It was not the usual fear he experience almost everyday but it was pure terror. His natural instincts as human scared of death were jumping like crazy.

When Rin was about to puke, the pressure was abruptly stopped.

"Whoa, whoa, easy there. I don't want to see any of that filth.", Nathan with an uncomfortable look caressed Rin trembling back.

When Nathan touched Rin's back. Rin felt immediate relief all over his body. Until now, everything was unexplainable about this man.

Rin looked at Nathan with eyes of wonder. His perspective of the reality of the world which he had built since he was born was slowly deteriorating.

"Do you believe me now? Hihi", Nathan was rather pleasant by Rin's reaction.

"…" Rin can't speak and just stared blankly.

"Hmm?? Too much of a shock to you?", Nathan gently patted Rin's back "Slowly take this new information…"

After a while, Rin slowly tilted his head and looked into the paper. His trembling hand made him unable to read the words on the paper again.

Nathan sighed and became impatient, "Hayyss, it will make me grant one of your wish in exchange of the thing you have that you held of most importance!"

"Importance…?? What kind??", Rin asked with his airy weak voice.

"Anything, be it a physical object, talent, skill, a friend, a lover, a family- anything!", Nathan impatiently said.

Rin looked down and murmured, "But I don't have one... The one that I held dear the most is gone…-"

"Exactly!! You don't have one. Well, you do have one like the house your mother left you but it is not worth mentioning at all if its replacement is strength to change! To fulfill your mother's wish!", Nathan said in one breath.

It was quiet. The sun had already started to rise in the sky. The dusk was disappearing. Rin stared at the paper with a determined look. His tears glittered under the reflection of the sunlight.

"It says that this is absolute, right? You can grant any wish that I'll speak." Rin's tone of voice was resolute.

Nathan nodded, it seemed like his lousy persuasion took an effect if the person was already in the brink of breaking down.

"Then, my wish is…", Rin gulped down "that after I die, I wish that I will revive as a greater person that I am. One that is not like me, someone who is strong!"

"Huh??", Nathan's eyes showed a hint of shock, "Why do you wish that? Can't you just wish to have strength right now?"

'And if you revive, though, you are the same person. You're memories will be gone. Memories that contain experiences that made you you.'

"I don't think I can change…" Rin's tone was melancholic.

'Don't fully trust the word "absolute", huh...' Nathan shrugged his shoulders and continued with the contract. Rin may change his mind if he react too late.

"No confidence at all? It's okay for me if that's what you want." Nathan touched Rin's finger tip of his right thumb.

A slit was made acrose his thumb, blood slowly came out of it but it did not hurt at all.
